I believe they are still working on some effects and reshooting a couple things. But just think, we get XMen 3 in may and Pirates of the Caribbean 2 in July. Six months later is Eragon, then HP and the Order of the Phoenix, and then six months after that, Prince caspian. As long as they keep making fantasy movies we'll never run out of stuff to talk about.
I'm not sure if someone corrected it but the books were actually published when Chris was 19. But it was on his parents label which was very small. then a friend or someone took it to a bigger publishing house and it finally came out which is the version that has taken off.
I could tell he'd taken ideas from other stories but to be honest, nearly everyone does. I mean, I don't think I've ever read a fantasy where elves aren't stronger and more powerful than men and where they don't have a long life. A lot of books are using the idea of "wild magic" (to borrow Tamora Pierce's term) for a way to mindspeak to animals. I thought Eragon was very original and much darker than a lot of young adult fantasy.
I love that they picked garrett hedlund as Murtagh. I saw him in four brothers (dumb movie btw) and was really struck by his talent. I don't really understand though why they picked a blonde to play Ayra. She has dark hair and emerald eyes.
