I agree with the movie being rushed, but i still enjoyed it to an extent. I hope they continue with making the movies, Yes they skipped alot and left out and changed alot but i already knew they would in the first place, b/c thats just what happens when movies are based off books.

Yea and the books were really long....so yea...and I think I would have liked it better if I hadnt read the book though. But I agree I hope they make the others!

Hey, I liked the movie.
His budget is 90 mln., not that low. His box-office after 3 days is about 23,5 mln. in USA alone. We'll see what happens. It won't be huge as Narnia, LotR or HP, but it has already beaten Dungeons and dragons and DnD has a sequel.

Is that good for the first weekend out? Yeah, I know that was a dumb question...

Anyhoo...even if they cut out a bunch of stuff...there is hope that they'll do a better job if there is a sequel. Star Wars Episode II was terrible compared to all the others, but Lucas outdid himself on Episode III. Except...w/ Harry Potter, that never happened. The movies still stink, except for the second one, in my opinion. I just hope that's not the case w/ Eragon. I won't see it until later this week...stupid Hamlet test/research paper!!! I hate homework...

Maybe HP5 will actually be good...?? I'm starting to lose faith in that series (the movies, I mean). They need Chris Columbus back! Stupid HP4 cut out the Quidditch World Cup game...okay, I'm ranting again...off topic, sorry :D

That's someone's opinion. I have read many reviews of the movie, though I haven't seen it yet.

I hope it is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

I really don't think it's going to be as bad as people say...as long as it doesn't surpass the Harry Potter movies in crappiness, I'm fine. But if the next movie is to be better and more accurate, Fox should let Walden Media sign on for the project. They did Narnia and Because of Winn-Dixie, and both those movies were mostly accurate to the books. I'm confused as to why Walden didn't want to do this movie...they DO have a contract to make kids/teens movies based off books w/ Fox (they had this contract for Winn-Dixie). Besides, I think, if Eragon is really deviating from the book, that it wouldn't have if Walden had been part of the project. The company tends to respect the original storylines. And I think people need to lend a little leeway to director Stefan Fangmeier--it was his first time as a director; he's really more of a special-effects guy (he worked on se for Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events). I'm sure after the experience w/ this movie, he'll know more about directing the next one. By the time they get to the 3rd movie, in comparison, it should be much better than the 1st (hopefully). And hopefully Paolini will get himself involved in the next film! After all, it's his story! If I wrote a book, I'd insist to be involved in the project, or else I wouldn't sell the rights. That's why Garth Nix is so wary of his books being made into movies...he's afraid the moviemakers will mess them up and take advantage of having some ownership of the books. Writers always have to be careful of that stuff...I hope Paolini learns that quickly enough. Besides, working on the screenplay or something would be a good experience for him and boost his career even more.

But if Fangmeier drops out of the Inheritance project, Fox would have to pick a very good director to carry it on and not mess up any further. George Lucas, I think, would be excellent. As would Peter Jackson, Robert Zemickis, Chris Columbus, and Andrew Adamson. Maybe even Steven Speilberg...?? Adamson can't, though, b/c he's doing Narnia, and Speilberg has his own company, and Zemickis is kinda obsessed w/ animation, so he might forget the storyline...well, they are good directors though; they were just suggestions. Perhaps Catherine Harwicke?? Far-fetched, but she has a way w/ portraying the lives of young people. Perhaps she could bring an interesting perspective to Eragon's story...

Oh, who knows. It's just wishful thinking, anyway. But Paolini should at least be a consultant for the Eldest film, which I'm pretty sure they're going to make, seeing as Eragon is #2 on the charts (USA) behind The Pursuit of Happyness.

I went to see it on Friday, I loved it, but I hadn't read the book first, I'm reading the book now, it doesn't exactly follow the book but when I book is made into a movie the movie is never as good as the book, I think that they did a good job on the movie and I cant wait to see the next one

If you didn't read the books, I believe that you love the movie, like my cousins. But if you already read those books and you like it (even though you didn't be the fans)....prepared your self to dissapointed

What I said is true. It proved to all people reacted taht I know.... ;)

I was grumbling a little about the cutting off of so many parts but........ they cannot represent everything in the book,if they did,the movie would be longer and people would get bored. It is known to happen for long movies.Still,i like the movie.
