The Official Liam Neeson Thread (Aslan II)

LWW has been mentioned as a place for an Aslan thread. I feel that this is a limited choice because there are seven books, and potentially, seven films. And Aslan is the key character in all seven of these stories. So, the most logical place seems to be the general discussion section of 'The Chronicles of Narnia' forum.

Does a discussion about Aslan even need a connection with a film? Although we have discussed the film here, most of the time, the discussion has little to do with the film.

On a humorous note: Over this last weekend, I gave out tigers Tasha and Nikolai a nice big water tub to play in. But like spoiled rotten, bratty, naughty kids, they fought over whose water tub it was all afternoon! They finally made peace with each other, but spilled out about a third of the water in the process!

I bet that was fun to watch!

I agree. Perhaps the general discussion section would be best. I like having specific places for things, keeps things organized. But Aslan is a very central figure even though he's not an actor or a cast member. Hey.. it'd be nice if he had his own section! Wishful thinking at best, so general discussions seems to be best.

Lol they sound just like kids! Haha reminds me of me and my brother :p. That would have been fun to watch.

Haha yeah wishful thinking! ;)

Not necessarily Tim.

Today, we had record heat. We did the 4th of July parade in the morning, before it got too hot. Had a lot of fun doing it. (They wouldn't let me put Kenya on a leash and walk him in the parade, though ;-) ) When we got back, the heat had set in. All the catse were 'estivating'....except Nick and Tasha. Nick was playing in the water tub....Tasha was biding her time, waiting her turn.

They put a second water tub in the exercise run, which is currently where Jambo the lion is. The tub is spotlessly clean....the drinking water is spotlessly clean.....lions just don't know how to enjoy water....they think they melt when they get wet!

Got called into work because of the record heat. We are not sure what had failed, but it fixed itself before we could take action. It was good we got called, though, as the breaker had tripped on one of the transmitter air conditioning units, and it was a lot warmer there than it should be.

Not necessarily Tim.

Can you explain what you are trying to say here?

Thanks!

Was it seriously that hot? Well, we have only rain here... it's so stupid..
I hope all the animals are okay in that weather..;)

I think totty (Mya) is replaying on what you said, and that was:

Do you understand it now?:D

It was seriously that hot. Got up to 106 F (41 C) here yesterday, easily breaking the record for that date. Today, it got up to at least 108 (42 C), which ties the all-time record of 108. I won't know if we broke that record for another couple of hours. Here at the house, it was 98 F (37F) yesterday, and 101 F (38 C) today. It was cooler here, as I live about 800 feet (244 meters) above the city proper.

The animals seem to be taking the heat OK. They have shade and plenty of water to drink and/or go swimming in. It's interesting that 100+ degree weather is fairly common here, but the record is only 108.

 here it's not warmer than.. I think 20 C.... don't know how many F, I only had that one year ago, we never use it:rolleyes:

oh, well, than it's okay.. I would die in weather like that.. we never have that temperatures.. always rain, mostly.. if it goes on with raining, I think Holland will dissappear in the sea one time:p

Lol Ilse. I mean Aslan is in the movies so he has got a connection with Narnia as such but most of the time in this thread we barely even mention the movie. We basically just talk about Aslan and lions in general. So if you look at it that way then he doesnt need a connection with the movie but seeing as this is about Narnia and therefore the movies and books as such then he would have some connection with it. Haha I dont think that made any sense. Oh well.

Omgh! that is boiling, madness. Its like quite cold here lol. Complete opposite. I'm glad the animals are okay.

You are now seeing my point. Aslan exists because of the books, and would probably not exist if the books hadn't been written. The movies are an offshoot of the book. Last but not least, Aslan is a character, not an actor. And since we discuss mainly Aslan and lions, it is only logical that the official Aslan thread would belong in the general discussion area of the books. That way, it ties in with all of the books, and anything that comes of them, such as the films.

The heat here is a dry heat, so those high temperatures are not really that bad. I can work reasonably comfortably in 100+ degree heat as long as I can move around, and the humidity stays low. The heat broke yesterday when the humidity started to take off. If the humidity hadn't started to climb rapidly (and clouds started to form) we would have easily broken our all-time record for heat.

Yay you understood what I meant lol.

Wow I thought Florida was very humid and for a while I found it hard to breath but after a while you get used to it. It was nice having the sunshine around all day and everyday instead of just in the faternoons or not around at all like Britain.

*Hugs* Haha its a little confusing I know. I didnt quite know how to put it in words lol.
Yeah its cold, when its not raining!

well, I'm on again for a little while...
yeah, it was a bit confusing, but it's also that I'm not that good in english reading, so that's why I didn't really understand it:p
but, I will try to read it now, and then I'm gonna replay again;)

Lol aww thats so sweet lol. To be honest I didnt much understand it either. To be fair I barely understand half the stuff I write lol.

that's sweet?:confused::p
anyways, I think english is you native language right?
it isn't mines... I speak english for three years now:p
I only write things which I understand, because I want to know what I write;)

Another way for saying thats nice of you.
Yes it is.
I totally understand.

yes, I already thought that means something like that, but I thought a bit like: why is it sweet to read a post, you know..:p
but it's always nice from somebody if he/she/ it:p reads your post!

I can practise here.. for my english.. to be on a english forum is really good for my english:D

Haha no you dont have to reread the post but you did any way to try and understand it. Hmm nvm lol.

Haha yeah I would think so too. And this way you can learn how to write, type and understand the english language.
