yes. i've already said how i felt about peter's character..but i'll say it again :P:

...i think it gave will a good oportunity to show off his acting skill..and it made a more interesting story for those who don't KNOW the story..but over all i was tict to no end when i saw they made him so arrogent and stubborn..they turned him into a little brat! and i didn't like it :D hehe

....or at least...i said SOMETHING like that.

and stronger_WM

YOU CRACK ME UP!!!!! you are so funny!

For me, it was absolute agony watching the castle raid, when he tries to open the gate and he yells "I can do this!!" I was like ":(" because he played it so well, I completely understood what Peter was thinking and feeling in that moment.

Tess are you still boycotting it?
Sami I know :'(
Yep. I'm still boycotting it. I hated the movie, they destroyed one of the best books ever writen. :(

Yeah, I hated that part.

What did y'all think of what they did to Peter's chatature?

I hated the changes they made, it was horrid. I hated how they wanted to make Peter's character more "modern" =/ But with the changes they did make, William Moseley done an AWESOME job (even though it's not in the book). Like the Night Raid, when Peter turns around and sees the Narnian's trapped inside the gate, he starts to tear up and doesn't want to leave them, Will just makes it so believable :)
It was a really good movie just not like the book. And just think what the movie would have been like if the screenwriters had stuck to the already-perfect script, it would have been amazing

I concur. :D If i had never read the book, I would have lOVED it sooo much more. Tho i did walk out with a smile on my face, I was a little dissappointed with certain aspects. :( I liked the night raid, even tho at the same time I was thinking "What is GOING ON HERE?!"
One of my favorite scenes was when the gate fell down and the Narnians were trapped inside the castle, and Will....er, Peter looks back with that look on his face. It was quite touching :(

Well *shrug*. We should just accept the fact that Hollywood screws up everything they get their hands on.

If "screws" is a word I can use on here .... *looks around for mods* :p

Why did you have to? So technically you havent boycotted it? Sorry I'm being really picky :p
Ugh another month!! I've seen the new Indiana Jones movie though. I cant believe that grossed in 126 mill+ where as PC brought in 26 mill+.

But if we know they are going to screw everythinmg up, then why do we keep going to see the movies they make?

I had to because my sister would not take me home before she saw it and I wasn't allowed to sit outside the theater. I have boycotted it. I didn't buy my ticket, and I will not be buying anything that is PC movie related, and I wont be seeing it again. I've boycotted it. :p And I'll be changing my banner soon to an anti-PC movie banner. :p

NOOOOOO!!! Please guys... don't boycott PC!!! :( We need them to make VODT. Watch it for William and the fact that C.S. Lewis's beautiful stories are finally jumping from the page to the screen, however non-accurate the movies may be. :( Just think of Prince Caspian as a movie that stands alone, without the book to compare to. It helped me alot.

Hear hear! :D That's what I did--I went into the theatre saying to myself, "Okay, its a movie, its a movie, they made a movie, they didnt make the book. Its going to be okay." My friend kept rolling her eyes at me :D

But C.S Lewies's beautiful storys aren't jumping to the big screen. The script writers are destroying these books and most of the people that will see thses movies wont read the books. You say what they did to PC, can you imagine what the script writer, and Disney would do to The last Battle? The book with the biggest Christian mesage. They would destory it! They would make it so modern it would be The Last Battle in name only. And if we(the fans) do not want them to destory the books that we say we love so much then we have to show them we are not happy with what they did to PC. And they will not get that message if we keep going to see it and keep buying PC merchandise.

If we look at it as a differnet thing entierly from the book then will we do that when they make The Last Battle and destroy the Christian message? That was the point of these books. C.S. Lewis did not write them so Diseny could get rich by making Peter a jerk and taking the Christian message out of it as much as they could.

I'm not trying to be mean to either of you, and if you like the movie thats fine. You can like it if you want, everyone is entitled to there own opinon, and I'm not trying to change yours, I'm just telling you why I'm boycotting it. :)

first time posting, please don't blast me :)

i think the williammites thread is so intresting, all this talk about will it seems to me he is a very good actor he did very well portaying peter the high king, it seems to me this should be a very intresting thread for fans who like him, personaly i don't think the actors come in here to read this stuff but i wouldn't be surprised if they did, i hope that's not considered bashing because i don't bash anyone :) i like being on here because of narnia

In response to Oxford Girl...

Wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. They have no choice. They must change the story. Every single book gone movie has to undergo alterations and cutting. It would be unfathomably long to film the book in it's entirety in the way they film the newer Narnia movies recently released. SO to say that they are destroying his stories, is downright....well just not correct..
Everyone has the right to hold their opinions....and I am not going to sit here and tell you that I was thrilled that they went off of the book...because I do like it when they stick to the story...the original story I mean...but I know as a film student and a film geek that it is almost impossible not to cut up a story.

hehe. you know...this is amazing...this is the way i felt when i first saw the movie...but everyone around me, my friends, family..people walking out of the theater .. everyone has been telling me i'm 'too critical' and 'too mean'. i've always been that way towards something i'm passionate about. i actually cried when i realized that they were taking the christianity out of it. when i ignore the book..i actually love the movie...the more i saw it the better it got for me...but i'm back on my rounds on reading the books (i never stop..i just read them over and over again hehe) and now i'm on prince caspian right now..and reading it just makes me mad all over again....i won't tell you to learn to separate the two..because i understand that passion..i got over it because people made me feel guilty because i was too critical :D but personally..when i got past it..i enjoy it for the movie...i still hate that they took God out of it as much as possible though.

meh. i've been studying film, acting and direct since i can remember...and it's not at all impossible to film a movie close to the book...PC took it BEYOND neccessary differences. they took out as much christian symbolism as possible and replaced it with battles....that isn't neccessary. it really isn't almost impossible...i mean you will always have a few differences here and there. THAT is inevititble...but PC..there's no reasoning behind it in my opinion. i've actually started writing my own script for the book...just as a challenge to see if i could do it...and i already created the layout and order of it...and the way i see it..it should probably end up being the same length..but keeping pretty darn close to the book...i'll have to finish and edit it some..but no..there's no excuse for PC.

Andrew and the other guys just wanted to modernize it, water down the christianity and make it something that would attract all age groups, including hormonal teenagers (hence...why caspian is now a charismatic older guy instead of a 13 year old boy...cuz boxoffice reality...older teens wouldn't go see a movie like that..and making the title character that old surrounded by others not much older..would automatically label it a child's film)

No, they dont have to change the story, and other movies have proven that. What they did to PC was not need, they went to far with the changes that were made, and its shwoing that the people aren't happy with what they did. Just look at the amount of money its making.

Well, I was rased on these book, I remeber my mom reading them to me when I was really little, probably four. And I loved them, Peter was my idea of the perect brother. And then when I say the movie I was just plan depressed by the changes, if they hadn't changed Peter's charater and had Aslan in more, and didn't have the icky romance. PC would be one of the best movies ever! But its not because of the changes.

You absolutly right. A few little changes are going to happen. Like an arow being used to stab Miraz instead of a dager. But what they did to PC is beyond neccessary. There is no excuse for PC.

Yep. And when the director say he didn't really like the Christian message in the book what do you think is gonna happen? Is it going to be a Christian moive? No, its going to be as modernized as posible.
