KIM: Because of the overlap of posting times, I missed seeing your entry which clarified with the reference to harvesting. Now I've seen it, and have deleted some posts of mine which are not needed.

Vissarion strode a few paces in the direction he and Ivan had taken by daylight, the direction Jade and Meridia had now gone. "Heavenly Father, may they be kept safe," he breathed. It did not sit easily with him to let others, female or male, go into possible danger while he stayed behind; yet he understood that they had relevant abilities which he did not.

Verra watched him head toward that direction. She hoped he wouldn't go all the way and destroy Jade's possible progress...if there was any, by being curious of even chivialrous...but then again not all men were like her Keven and her son Nyken.

"Veelo isi marrru tides," Jade said aloud.

"Veelo isi marrru tides," the princess greeted back, shocked that this...girl? woman. knew their language. "Fuuh bbers hiya nule mias?" How do know the language?

"Goyax willae," Jade replied, Long story.

"Huyll baaxz diqy mape?" Who's your friend?

"Meridia, zwede qyt," some one who phases.

The natives gasped, then started to come to Meridia. They stopped three feet away and bowed, the princess coming forth and meeting Meridia's eyes.

"Yulk aszx Caeleil hou mahc," my name is Caeleil and I am your equal, "oopu zwedef buyd hik," I was born not a phaser, but I am royalty."

"Aymeeel buydv nin daos zwedev?" Are the roayls phasers too?

"Vas," no, "vaz duls miaj...." no, not at all, "muik Bia," just the gods, "img diaq maek shhir Kial?" Im sorry but aren't you a Savior?

"Vas, viuy yannio meakx xare," no we are just traverlers, "uohd suyb asdri, " there are more of us beyond there.

"Out zwedev?" Are they phasers?

"Vas, huyt Meridia," no just Meridia.

The princess had Meridia and Jade to be escourted to the king. The king was a handsome middle aged man with long black hair, much like his daughter's. When princess Caeleil explained everything, the king wanted to meet the others.

So Jade led the way back to the camp.

Vissarion had not gone far at all, but he was far enough out that he was the first of those waiting to see the large party approaching. Jade and Meridia were with them, not seeming to be in any distress.

"Verragoe, they made contact, and it looks as if things went well!" The swordsman gestured to urge Verragoe forward, while he fell back to try to make sure no one in their party--especially Ivan--did something stupid now. To Verragoe he quickly added, "One thing to ask would be whether those people know anything about Ivan's hard-to-kill enemy."

Veragoe nodded in reply.

"Verra," Jade called to her, "This is princess Caeleil and king Caezx. They wanted to meet the others."

Meridia motioned for the others to be presented to the king and princess.

Vissarion removed his weapons, and ordered everyone else who was armed to do the same, before he went toward the native royalty with empty hands clearly displayed.

Jade translated for the king, "He wants to know Vissarian are you the king of your tribe," she smiled wryly at him before she looked back at the king.

"No, I am not a king, though I am a high-ranking warrior in my homeland. I came here to your land not even knowing if anyone lived here on a permanent basis."

Jade translated that to the king as well as told that all of them ended up here the same way. He then asked who the leader was of this group. When Jade told him that there was no leader, that everyone pitched in, he didn't quite understand the concept.

Meanwhile to keep the fire going, Verra shot a plasma blast at the fire. When she turned around the king and the princess were bowing to her.

Jade translated, "He says that Verra is greater than the gods..." she wrinkled her face, "Once again you get to be the exulted one Verra."

"Oh like I want to be," Verra snapped back. Everywhere they went it seemed that Verra somehow got into a leadership role. It was annoying. "Vissarian cant we just say you're king or somethin, Jade make them get up!"

"Tell them this, which is true," said Vissarion: "I am a herald and messenger sent by the God Who could crush Verragoe like an insect if He chose, as He could crush anyone. I am appointed a leader for those here like Lisbeth, Darron and Ivan who have no special powers; but you three women came from a separate nation, a nation to which the same God has given extra gifts of power.

"Don't forget the distinct phase-monster Ivan saw, the one that seems friendly. I believe it is secretly observing what is going on here, and I believe it would know if I--if WE lied."

Verra blinked rapidly, "Well thank you Vissarian, thats always a comfort. And its not a nation persay, " she smiled nations were non existant basically where they were from, "Jade tell them from another galaxy beyond the stars."

"Then they'll think we're gods."

"That ship has blasted its way past the black holes."

Jade told them everything, even about Ivan's monster. "They said that monster is their god, who helps them with the harvest. But he has been ignoring their plea for food. Now they think we're here to save their crops."

"It would make sense to try to find out what exactly IS blighting their crops. Also, if you haven't already done so, you should ask them if they are familiar with this castle-or-whatever-it-is, and mention the rooms with food inside it, which ought to be at least some short-term help."

Jade shrugged and asked them while she got them to their feet, explaining that they were not gods, "They said that they dont know about that castle except that it is a cursed place. No one of their people has ever came out. If I told we did the "god" thing would never stop. They also said that what destroys their crops are those other monsters, the one I disected."

"Well, you can truthfully tell them that I have already slain several of the bad monsters, and that you have a weapon which will slay more of them."

After Jade told them this the king and the princess kissed everyone's cheek. JAde was surprised but didn't mind.

Meridia hated being touched by strangers, least of all kissed by one, but she couldn't be rude and endured the kisses. She was glad though that the princess wasn't as bad as the king's with his scruffy beard. Hers was soft and the kisses were light, as if butterflys had landed on her cheeks.

"Please no," Meridia looked at him horrified.

"I don't think it will be nessasary, Im sure they'll come to us."

"And when they do...BAM those ------ -------s wont know what hit them!"

"Geese Jade bloodthirsty?"

"Just over zealous. Do you know how long its been since I've done any real action? When we get back, you are not sticking me at one of those...those directors for special advents."

"But you love doing all that fashion stuff."

"Yeah I do, but I'd rather get good and dirty too."

"Umm ok well thats nice, and totally irrelevant," Meridia said biting her lower lip, "do you think we can focus on the present, thanks. Jade tell them we need shelter for the night."

"They already have been preparing our stay. Come on everyone, wait until you see what they put under the beds!"

Vissarion was not annoyed that his work on lean-to's had been rendered superfluous. It had been in the midst of the work that the swordsman had gotten his chance to minister to the needy soul known as Darron.

As they were getting underway, Vissarion was almost sure that, far off in the moonlight, he could see lurking about the evil elf he and Ivan had encountered. He decided not to mention it to Ivan. He had told the super-women about that villain; that they knew about him, and that Vissarion knew, should be enough.
