Your Favourite Film.

So, I was browsing, and I don't think there is a single thread out there for people to just say what their favourite film is. So here is one, and if there're others, sorry, matey mods. :)

So basically, say what your favourite film is, director, year, who's in it, and if you want, what it's about and why you like it. Plus out of 5 stars, how many you'd give it.

Film: Milk

Rated R for language, violence, lewd sexual content -- may not be appropriate for children

Director: Gus Van Sant

Year: 2008

Starring: Sean Penn, Emile Hirsch, Josh Brolin, Diego Luna, and James Franco

Stars: 6/5

About: Milk is an biopic starring Penn as Harvey Milk, San Francisco City Supervisor

Why I like it: It's. So. Good. It's riveting, heart-wrenching, funny, and inspirational.

Edited by Inkspot: this film centers on a non-family-friendly subject which we do not discuss on TDL, so I have edited this post and placed a disclaimer above. This is not a film for children.

Film: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Director: Andrew Adamson

Year: 2008

Starring: William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, Skandar Keynes, Georgie Henley, Ben Barnes, Warwick Davis and Peter Dinklage

Stars: 5\5

about: i dare say most of us know what it's about.

Why I like it: more like love it. Ben Barnes was incredible as Caspian. Peter Dinklage and Warwick Davis were incredible as Trumpkin and Nikabrik. The kids were amazing. Reepicheep was amazing. The effects were amazing. The story was awesome.

But this is a tie with my other film:

Film: Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country

Director: ack, I can't remember!

Year: 1991

Starring: William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, Nichelle Nichols, Christopher Plummer, Walter Koenig, James doohan, and George Takei.

Stars: 5\5.

about: The Klingon homeworld is on the verge of destruction. The United Federation of Planets and the Klingon empire are about to sign a treaty, but Captain James T. Kirk and others are against the idea, especially Kirk since his son David was killed by Klingons *in Search for Spock*. However, Kirk, the Enterprise and its unforgettable crew are sent to escort Chancellor Gorkon *played by David Warner* to Federation space. Little do they know, a conspiracy is brewing between those who don't want the treaty to happen. Gorkon is killed and Kirk and Bones are sent to Klingon prison in punishment of his death. Spock and the crew work to find out the truth behind the assassination and incidentally, they close the final chapter of the original cast.

Why I like it: it's star trek. It's got action, Klingons, and explosions. It's got intrigue and a conspiracy, it's a mystery and it's suspense. I seriously think this is the best film of the entire Trek saga, surpassing Wrath of Khan. little language, just some good Enterprise action, and a final farewell to the cast.

This is actually kind of funny because my family teases me about this. Because every movie I see I say is the best movie ever. So whatever movie I saw last was the best. lol

Nice status!

I know what you mean!!! I guess I could pick genres. So sad romance/life stories. I think my favorite has to be Bella. It made me explode with emotion. I even tear up thinking about the movie and the real story behind it.

LWW + PC also have a large spot in my movie heart. VODT will too once it's out I'm sure<3 Although I DO LOVE JANE AUSTEN!!!! Emma is my favorite for now, but Northanger Abby is coming up, almost tied:/ I just love it all!

There are so many wonderful films in the world, it would be too difficult to narrow it down to one. Classification by genre would be better ...

Classics: Casablanca
1942, with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman.
Classic film set in unoccupied Africa during the early days of World War II: An American expatriate meets a former lover, with unforeseen complications.
Why I like it: Beautiful story, very romantic, and often amusing.

Fantasy: LOTR Trilogy
2001-2002 .... everyone here probably knows all the story and stars.
Why I like it: Ultimate fantasy adventure story with inspirational message.

Musical: 1776
1972, William Daniels, Howard daSilva, Ken Howard
The film version of the Broadway musical comedy of the same name. In the days leading up to July 4, 1776, John Adams and Ben Frankin try to get a Revolution declared.
Why I like it: I am a hopeless geek. Love the music.

Comedy: Stripes
1981, Bill Murray and Harold Ramis
Two friends who are dissatisfied with their jobs decide to join the army for a bit of fun.
Why I like it: it is so picking funny.

Love Story/War Story: Gone with the Wind
1939, Vivien Lee, Clark Gable
American classic in which a manipulative woman and a roguish man carry on a turbulent love affair in the American south during the Civil War and Reconstruction.
Why I like it: aaaahhhhh .....

Film: Holes

Director: Andrew Davis

Year: 2003

Starring: Shia Labeouf, Sigourney Weaver, Jon Voight, Tim Blake Nelson, Khleo Thomas, ETC

Stars: 5\5

about: When Stanley Yelnats IV (LaBeouf) is wrongfully convicted of stealing, he is sent to 'Camp Green Lake'. At this camp, the Warden (Weaver), and her two henchman, Mr. Sir (Voight) and Dr. Pendanski (Nelson) command the campmates to dig holes after hole after hole. But for what reason? Stanley plans to find out.

(Thanks to IMDB for the help...LOL)

I haven't seen LOTR. *ducks in case someone throws something*

I want to but my sister is reading the books and won't let me watch them till she finishes the books. Which could take a while.

I haven't seen them either. *ducks with Nightcrawler_Fan*
Hmmm... I have so many favorite movies... the one I like most at the moment is Phantom of the Opera (2004). I love it. :D
I'm too lazy to put the rest of the information up though.

Film: Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Director: Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam

Year: Don't remember.

Starring: John Cleese, Eric Idle, Graham Chapman, Terry Jones, Terry Gilliam, Micheal Palin
Stars: 5\5.

about: King Arthur must find the Holy Grail!
Ok, so there's barely a plot. Whatever.

Why I like it: It's very funny, pointless, and random. There's barely a plot. It's actually a series of sketches thrown together in some order. But it's the funniest movie I've ever seen. The Black Knight bit and the Holy Hand Grenade are the best. Ok, so the entire thing is great. But then, I adore Python, so anything they do is great. :D

Film: Bolt

Director: Byron Howard

Year: 2008

Starring: John Travolta

Stars: 5\5.

about: Dog think he's a superdog

Why I like it: Great feel good movie from last year.

It's hard to decide which movie is your favourite. But for now I guess it's "Pirates of the Carribean: The curse of the Black Pearl". Johnny Depp was just great at being Jack Sparrow.

haha. Thats hilarious, but its really really stupid. IF your into that kind of humor its great. I loved the killer rabit, and the Black Knight picking a fight after he's lost half his arms and legs, and the evil French people.

Oh, yeah. Stupid, pointless, time-wasting, ect.

I was the Black Knight for Halloween. It was pwnsome.
