Here’s the PRESS RELEASE:

WHAT: Harry Potter. Yu-Gi-Oh. Pokemon. Teletubbies. Power Rangers. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. These are just a few of the big names that created a stir at retail in years past. What will be the big draw that generates consumer product goods in the year ahead?

Will pet shop shelves be stocked with Elvis and Lassie-inspired pet products? Will the names of fast-food sandwich shops such as Subway become more than just a place to eat?
Will department store racks be packed with junior girls’ brands beyond Bratz and Mary-Kate and Ashley? Can a recording artist’s career be established through merchandising? How are entertainment moguls like Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Universal Studios, Inc. and Disney Consumer Products positioning their properties beyond the box office? These are questions that will be answered at L!CENSING 2004 International.

It’s all about the power of licensing, as Hollywood comes east, corporate brands take the town and the world’s leading retailers, consumer product manufacturers, promotions and marketing strategists preview trend-setting properties and strike deals with popular brands that will distinguish consumer product goods in the year ahead. L!CENSING 2004 International is the global marketplace of ideas that will impact consumer spending in 2005 and beyond. More than 20,000 attendees from over 70 countries are expected to visit this year’s Show to pursue 5,700+ properties for every conceivable consumer product in categories from entertainment, corporate brands/trademarks, food & beverage, publishing, art & design and much more.
