Our friends at MundoNarnia.com have received the first picture of Aslan on the beach for a scene in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It looks like they’re again using their Aslan statue as a stand-in for the computer animated version when the effects artists have a go on him. I can’t wait to see what this scene will be when the movie comes out. As we all know, Liam Neeson is returning to the role that he’s played so well in each of the last two Narnia adventures. This is our first look at a location in which Aslan appears in the film, which looks like he’ll make an appearance on the beach. Looks like there’s also a green screen there. I wonder what they’ll be putting into the shot. Any theories on the scene?
whoa.. it looks bigger!!!! excited!! Hail to Aslan!
No one knows if it’s really Aslan. It’s just a rumor. This is the blog which post these photos http://metafizix.blogspot.com/ .
What else would it be? I dunno about you but I’m pretty sure there’s no other movies being made on a beach that require a lion statue.
The question is: is that a LION statue?
Well it’s not a horse and definitely not a cow.. it looks like a lion to me =)
Hmmm…could be when they see Aslan and it looks as if he’s “as big as an elephant” but yet “the same size as a donkey” or something like that… Anyway, can’t wait!
Well, at least we know Aslan is in the movie then :p
OMG I think this could be the scene where eustace gets “un”dragoned.
I think it might be the scene at the end of the book, where they meet Aslan at the white shores, across the Silver Sea. Wonder what the green screen is for…

I would say that this is the scene when Eustace is “un”dragonized also, or else they wouldn’t need a green screen that large..
I agree it may be the end…the green screen could be what they see of Aslan’s Country. Remember, at the end of Voyage, when Reepicheep goes on and the 3 meet Aslan, they’re on a shore. “The water was warm and all the time it got shallower. At last they were on dry sand, and then on grass”…and it mentions too that the blue sky came down and met the grass, and that same “blue wall” was what was rent when they are sent back. They probably need a screen to make that happen on film. Of course, there are quite a few beaches in VotDT…but not many with a Lion! And besides, Eustance did not become “un-dragoned” on a beach, though it may start there with Aslan coming to get him (Chapter 7).
The blog where these photos come from doesn’t say anything about it. We can’t say for sure that thing is a lion statue. It’s an orange thing which looks like a statue. Obviously, if this thing is not a lion statue, it will not be a mistake of NarniaFans – because it was not NF the first website to say that thing IS a lion statue.
I preffer to wait for some better pics and awarn NF about them 🙂
I’m with ReepicheepFan and Elentari–they would need a green screen for Aslan’s country. Hope it’s good! I’m looking forward to see how they handle the part about “now you must know me by a different name in your own country.” BBC kinda skimped on that part!
Every year the Penvensies grow, so does Aslan.
I think it’s the last scee in the movie; when Aslan sendsthe Pevensies and Eustace home. Looks neat!
