Most of the time a world premiere for a film is closed to the public. You have to be invited to go, and those invitations are very hard to come by. However, there is a difference when the premiere is made the Royal Premiere in England. These are for charity, so the tickets come with a steep price tag. Note that the prices for the tickets are in British Pounds, which converts to US dollars currently at $1.59. So the lowest cost ticket at the Empire cinema in the UK £60.00 = $95.68 U.S. dollars. That’s for each ticket. And that’s if you’re a member of the CTBF. Non-member tickets are £10.00 higher for the lowest cost.
The Royal and World Premiere event will take place on the 30th of November at the Odeon and Empire Cinemas in London’s Leicester Square. Leicester Square will be transformed into a Narnian ‘Winter Wonderland’ in much the same way that it was for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in 2005.
Tickets will be available for the general public on October 23, 2010.

Going a world premiere would be a fantastic experience. Unfortunately, I’m not in the UK, and even if I could get there I wouldn’t be able to pay that price. I guess I’ll be waiting!
