A world traveling theme park engineer and Narniaexpert. I first heard the Chronicles of Narnia read to me when I was five. Ever since I have loved the books and fantasized about how I would like to see them made into films. Since 2006 I have been involved with NarniaFans.com where I am eager to expand my understanding of C.S. Lewis and see The Chronicles of Narnia adapted into film and other mediums. 1. I totally just watched the #DawnTreader Blu-ray on a 10-foot screen with 7.1 surround sound. That was even better than at a movie theater!

    • WOW..That’d be AWESOME!!How did you enjoy it?And what are the special features on Blu-ray that aren’t in the 2-disc??

      • Hey and you got a photobook? Is that only with the Blu-ray?
I want the Blu-ray but how will I see it once I buy it πŸ™

        • The postcards are only with the Blu-ray. I don’t own a Blu-ray player. The benefit of the three disc pack is that it comes with a DVD, Blu-ray, and a digital copy. In a few years Blu-ray could replace DVD. This is planning ahead so that you will already own the Blu-ray and will not need to buy it again. You can also watch the DVD and digital copy on your computer, iPod, or DVD player.

          • Agreed. I don’t have a Blu-ray player either, but I bought the Blu-ray version for the same reason you did.

I was able to watch the Blu-ray at a friend’s house (that’s also where the 10-foot full HD screen and complete 7.1 surround sound came in). Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to view any of the special features besides the deleted scenes.

    • Sweet, Daniel! that sounds totally awesome! I have a complete surround sound system, and i must admit, I’m not sure if the movie theater could compare to that either! πŸ˜€
either way, I’m just glad I got to see it three times before I returned the DVD to the library. I’ll probably *hopefully* get it in my easter basket!!!!!

  2. I love it!!!!!!! it’s perfect… fox are really good on this kind of stuff for DVD’s releases!! the design are perfect!!! and disney didn’t make a really good work with LWW and specially with PC

  3. Don’t have a Family Christian store where I live. I went to Best Buy. The blue rays were almost sold out when I got there. There were less than 10 left. Anyway got my copy. I do love the ending at Aslan’s Country. The film makers got that right! I tear up every time I see it.

  4. Anyone has any idea when it’ll be available in Asia, specifically India and Dubai?
And what’s the difference btw a special/collector’s edition and a normal 2-disc? I’m getting the 2-disc when I buy but God knows when I’ll be able to get it πŸ™

  5. Wow! This is a great package! Even though I don’t have Blu-ray (yet!) I’d like to get this set! The artwork on the package looks beautiful! Great collector item! πŸ™‚

  6. Oh no………now I really regret not getting this set…I already bought the the 2 Dvd’s set…because as you know I don’t have a blurray player….I have no idea what the difference is between blurray and dvd…I thought dvd was the best invention…since video tapes often have problems…but wow the set is perfect….fox must really like this series for them to take alot of time and effort to do this design…good sign for the future(MN YAY)….Thanks David…you went through alot of trouble for us to see the design πŸ™‚

  7. Thanks, that was good, great to see the whole design. The VODT packaging will make it a well remembered favourite when people look up their dvds…opps it’s blueray! – collections to watch one of their films in the future.
Which is really cool, & probably great for Magician’s Nephew film & previous Narnia films too. I think the dvd cover ( well the one for this region at the least) is best picture design out of the three too in showing it’s Narnia film experience.

  8. I wish they had packaged the 2 DVD set all together, instead of actually having two DVDs (the standard version and the Explorer Pack). I really need the shelf space, and I hate that it takes up the place of 2 DVDs.

And honestly, I wasn’t very impressed with the special features on the “Explorer Pack.” I loved the deleted scenes on the DVD (I haven’t watched with the commentary yet), but the special features were basically just recaps of what happens on each island in the movie. And then there were the interviews with some of the cast and crew that were already available for free on iTunes a few weeks ago. I was hoping for some bloopers and more behind the scenes stuff. The movie was great, but I don’t feel like the special features live up to the previous two Narnia DVDs.

  9. Has anyone seen if the Big 3 retailers have different extras in their Blu-ray packages than what are in the standard sets?

  10. I can’t decide which one to get. The three disc blu-ray or the double pack. Here is the conflict:

Three disk: I don’t have a blu-ray player though we will get one soon though that can mean a year or two sometimes. All the cool stuff is on the blue-ray. The cover and box set up is like the other two so it would be matching set. My mom asked me if I wanted a blu-ray player for my birthday when I want the movie for my birthday in the first place. Plus I don’t know if this new laptop of mine plays blu-ray.

Two disk: I can watch all the fun stuff on DVD, but the behind the scene stuff. There will be two DVD cases and it would look out of place with PC and LWW DVDs. I will have two cases to worry about.
