David Magee to write Screenplay for The Silver Chair

Silver ChairThe Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair film update!

The Mark Gordon Company and the C.S. Lewis Company have chosen David Magee to write THE SILVER CHAIR script–the next Narnia movie. David Magee is known in his screenplays for the films Life of Pi and Finding Neverland.

David Magee stated, “I have always loved The Chronicles of Narnia and I endlessly imagined myself finding my own passage into Narnia someday. All these years later, I’m getting to fulfill that wish just a little bit by writing the film adaptation of ‘The Silver Chair‘ and could not be more excited about it.”

  1. I am sooo happy that they are going forward with this!
Honestly, I have not been coming here as often (with the exception of Aprils Fools) because there was no news, but I will certainly be stopping by more often!

P.S. I love the snow falling across the page!

      • You mean the snow? It was there before? I don’t recall it…. Must have been before I was coming to this site.

    • I have been doing the same thing. I started checking every other day. The moment the Silver Chair movie announcement was made I checked every day for another two weeks and now I am back to every other day. I had a feeling others were doing the same thing due to the lack of comments on the posts, but wasn’t sure till now. Sorry Paul. All your others posts were interesting, but either the events were too far away for me or it didn’t spark my interest.

      • I actually see that in the traffic that the site would get. There were actually still a lot of people that showed up every day. We’re not talking more than 1000-2000 a day would still visit.

        • Doesn’t the rate of visitors go up when the films were being made and released then reduce after some weeks after the release? I’m merely asking out of curiosity sake. It is nice to know that there are plenty of people still visiting, but it is hard to tell if I can only judge by the number of comments per post.

          • NarniaFans is primarily a Narnia movie news site, so it would make sence for traffic to increase as more news starts coming in more regularly.

  2. The one main problem I’ve had with all three film thus far have the screenplay. They haven’t been bad or anything, it’s just been lacking something. So I’m extremely excited that they’re interested on hiring professionals regardless of the budget

. I have a good feeling about Silver Chair!

  3. I just wish so very much this could have happened on the heels of Dawn Treader so we could see Will Poulter reprise his brilliant turn as Eustace. He was the best thing in that whole movie (cast wise), and I was heart-broken when I saw the franchise get dumped. Whoever plays Eustace in this production will have large shoes to fill!
