“For Real Life”: NarniaFans April Fools 2025

Well, April Fools Day has come and gone. Sadly, it appears that after much care and planning to write some fun satirical articles another website I had never heard of stole our thunder with an outlandish claim that cannot be substantiated by any reputable sources. This of course, meant no one seemed to notice or care about what we posted.

Now  allow me to summarize the jokes I wrote and provide the appropriate retractions.

1: To the best of our knowledge Adam Driver was NOT considered for Puddleglum in Joe Johnston’s The Silver Chair. That said, I do believe he would have made an inspired choice, and considering he is not only ten years older than Will Poulter, but would have been a near unknown at the time, he would have made for an inspired choice as our favorite Marshwiggle, if for no other reason then he would not have had any baggage assigned to him from other roles.

Also my source for the story “Matt-The-Radar-Technician99” is a reference to Driver’s classic SNL sketch, Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base”, while the video link of his audition is to a commercial he did this past holiday season of “Real Amazon Five Star Reviews Read by a Serious Actor” in which he read the review for a salad bowl. It was tricky, too because there were many fun ones, but rule of funny won out, and salad Bowls are funny.

2: for King & Country and Rebecca St. James are NOT contributing songs for the soundtrack for Netflix Narnia. That said, I would love to see them be part of this project in some fashion, even if it’s on an Inspired By Album. I also believe Joel Smallbone would be a good voice for Aslan. He’s younger, as a deep rumbly voice akin to Hugh Jackman and Chris Hemsworth, he can sing, and he has a British-adjacent accent due to being from Australia. Seriously, Netflix, consider him

3:Finally, there is NOT a brand new Bluey’s Narnia Adventure special coming soon.

This one was just for fun. I love Bluey. Seriously, if you haven’t seen it, check it out. It’s the best show for children on television. This was kind of a throwback to one Specter did about a Narnia VeggieTales special from Big Idea.

Finally, I want to leave our readers with a promise regarding that other news that hit the web the other day. Paul and I considered doing something with it, but we decided against fanning the flames. I do not wish to generate traffic to the site in question by mentioning it. Others have done it, but I don’t wish to.  The fact that major film news outlets like Deadline, Variety, and Collider are silent makes me question the veracity of the original post, and thereby to the conclusion that it was probably that websites April Fools Day Joke, or even mere clickbait, that based on the reaction that followed, went viral. Now, back in the day, we strove for such heights, but no so much anymore. To be honest, I felt like I was chasing that white whale after we made the front page of Cinifantastique for the joke I did about the Twilight author being tapped to write the screenplay for Voyage of the Dawn Treader. While I try to have some fun on April Fools Day, I try not to be relentlessly cruel, and if I can perhaps thread the needle a little and plant a few seeds for a few fan boy suggestions of my own, all the better.

Finally, maybe, I speak for myself when I say this: I would rather be right on the news then be first. Paul ( Spectre) and I, as well as the rest of our staff here at NarniaFans, will make sure any time major news hits the web to properly vet the sources.

Take care!
