Originally published on September 7, 1953, it’s been 72 years since we first journeyed north of Narnia in The Silver Chair. The book has only been adapted for the screen once by the BBC in 1990, but that version is soon to be released on Blu-ray. The story picks up decades after the last adventure, with an aging King Caspian desperate to find his lost son and heir, Prince Rilian. The great lion Aslan calls two children from our world, Eustace Scrubb (a familiar face!) and Jill Pole, for the perilous quest. Joined by one of Narnia’s most memorable characters, the delightfully gloomy Marsh-wiggle Puddleglum, they must follow four signs that lead them into the dangerous wild lands of giants and ultimately into the sunless depths of Underland.
