Chapter Sixteen
Argo unbraided his hair, and shook his head, sending it flying around his face. It reached almost to his waist, far to long. Male elves might were their hair this long but male humans didn't, he knew that much.
He studied himself in the mirror for a moment, then he spent some time looking at, and feeling his new ears. He decided he liked them how they were. Reaching down he picked up the pair of shears, and grabbed a handful of his brown hair. He snipped it off so it just brushed his shoulders, they way most men that he had seen wore their hair. Then he did the same the rest of his hair, it felt strange and he almost regretted it for a moment, but then he grinned at himself in the mirror, one could hardly say he didn't look like a human, now that he had short hair and almost had a beard. But then again...most humans have fringes. He pulled the front of his hair down in front of his eyes, and cut it so that it was just below his eyebrows. Perfect.
Then he examined his clothes, they weren't that different to a human's, and he could barely sew so they'd have to do.
Just as he was finishing cleaning up the hair, someone knocked on his door. "Come in."
Chaim opened the door but stopped halfway through it. His jaw dropped. "Argo?"
"Yes?"
"You look...different...like a human."
"Yes I know."
Chaim stepped into the room, and slowly walked around Argo. Argo heard his sharp intake of breath. "What happened to your ears?"

It depends on her personality...which we do not know a whole lot of yet...she might be upset that he didn't tell her, and not believe him if he tells her he did not know...or, she might be somewhat comforted that he's a human as well...they may even plan to escape together...sorry, people are always telling me I'm too analytical

But you're good!

lol...thanks...I guess...it usually just leaves you with even more questions unanswered though...this is what comes of reading too many books

"They're the way they should be."
"What do you mean?"
"Ask father to tell you, he's the one that did it."
"Why did you cut your hair? It's very short...and it's crooked."
"It's not."
"It is, at the back, just a little. Give me the shears." Argo handed them to him, and waited a moment as the shears snipped a few times. "There, it's not crooked anymore." Chaim handed him the shears. "You have to tell me why you did that," He motion at Argo's hair cut.
"I can cut it if I wish, it's my hair."
"Yes I know that, but I want to know why you did it. You look like...well...almost like Dov did when his hair was growing back."
Argo flushed hotly. "I most certainly do not! Dov's hair was awful, it was very thin and well it looked...sick... "
"I mean...oh never mind. But you look like a human, no mistake about that."
"I want to look like a human, I am a human. A full blooded human."
Chaim's eyes darkened. "You lie brother."
"No I speak the truth, and I'm not your brother."
"You are."
"I'm not."
Suddenly Chaim's eyes filled with tears. "Does that mean you're leaving?"
"Yes," Said Argo shortly, without a hint of emotion.
"I won't let you leave, father won't! Dov..."
"Pah! Dov! Dov would love to see me go!"
"That is not what I meant."
"Dov hates me, you know that."
"He doesn't..."
