"Cooperative? With you? I most assuredly hope not," Three said huffily. He spun back to get his arms uncrossed and considered the dials and readouts he could see. The meteorite was definitely doing something, he could feel it and he unfortunately knew the Master could too. Whatever it was he hoped it wouldn't be too messy to clean up after.

He really, really wished he could reach the pocket that had the sonic screwdriver, the cuffs were most inconvenient. It was in his upper pocket... he put his chin down and tried to reach it with his teeth. No good.

--

The helicopter was nearly touching the windswept grasses when Two suddenly spun right off the skid, uncrossing his arms as he went. He landed with an ooof! on the grass and rolled out of the way lest he be squashed.

"Doctor!" Jamie was calling out with concern. He jumped from his own skid and staggered towards him, eyes squinted against the wind of the helicopter blades. He reached Two and helped him sit up, brushing grasses away from his black coat. "Are y' all right?"

To Jamie's alarm, Two dropped his chin and tried to bite at his own lapel. Had he been hit on the head, then?

--

Six dropped his chin and licked some spilled jam off of his own coat. Peri put a hand over her eyes.

--

Benton hit the pedal and the jeep finally managed to roar around the slow lorry. The gyrations of his passenger were starting to worry him - he was thankful when he saw the helicopter far ahead of them, descending down into the trees. There had to be a driveway up that way, then, which meant they were close.

--

Victoria carefully peered around the posts and seeing the others freed from the cage bars, came out of hiding to join them. "That helicopter is coming in," she said, "I wonder if it's that Brigadier or any the others...or maybe even Jamie." This Doctor with his close-cropped hair and black jacket was so intense, he was an odd one - it made her lonely for the familiarity of her own version.

Zoe heard the helicopter coming and hurried out of the little room. Rushing across the barn she finally reached Victoria, Nine, and Ace. Ace began waving her arms and jumping up and down as a gyrocopter landed. Seven jumped out and ran over to Ace.

"Professor!" Ace said cheerily. "Glad to see you're alright."

"I'm alright?" Seven asked. "Says the one who's been locked up in a cage for the last two hours?" Seven suddenly began to bite his umbrella handle.

"What you doing there?" Ace asked, giving him an odd look.

Zoe hurried to Jamie and Two and stopped. "What on Earth are you doing, Doctor?" She asked as Two seemed to be trying to eat his lapel.

---

One raised the spring to his face, looking at it. Without any warning he began biting it, bending the wire. "Oh dear, Chesterton, would you get a new one of these?" He asked, handing Ian the bent spring.

---

Jo stopped for a moment, trying to decide whether to greet Jamie and Two or to continue. Finally she made up her mind and went through the door. Quietly shutting it behind her she dropped to the floor to hide before the Master was done with his little bit of mockery. Carefully she moved across the floor until she behind the machine and examined how the Doctor was locked up. Handcuffs. If only she had her skeleton keys!

--

The Master noticed a noise near the door. He gave the Doctor a warning glance and then hurried over. Seeing nothing he swept around the room and went behind his little contraption. Grabbing Jo by the arm he yanked her up to her feet. "So you've come to join us? How kind of you, Miss Grant."

Five and Nyssa came out of the helicopter and Nyssa watched in alarm as all the doctors began biting something, she noticed there was apparently another Doctor with them as another man there began doing the same thing.

Nine came out in time to see several more versions of himself before he realized Jo had left them. He spun around looking for her just to make sure but there was no doubt that she had gone in to see what the Master was doing. He alerted the others of this, now that there were a lot more of them it would probably be best just to go in and see for themselves what was going on.

---

"Doctor, what is going on?" asked Barbara, becoming very scared for her Doctor, was someone trying to control him?

"No, no, I'm quite all right," Two reassured Jamie.

"Then why are y' actin' like..."

Two accepted Jamie's hand up and brushed bits of grass from his trousers, glancing back at the rapidly emptied helicopter. "I don't know," he murmured. "But I think we'll soon find out. I expect the answer is somewhere in that barn."

"Well, what are we waiting for, then? Come on!" Jamie said. They ran through across the clearing to the doorway where they could see Five and Nyssa were meeting up with a tall man in a black jacket who had just come out, and nearby, to their vast relief...

"Zoe!" they both called, waving.

--

Benton skidded the jeep to a halt just short of the clearing. "Always better safe that sorry," he said as he rapidly pulled it to the side, half-hidden in the undergrowth and opened the doors. He checked his pistol, adjusted his cap and nodded to his passengers who were already tumbling out as he grabbed up the radio com. "Trap One to Greyhound, we've reached our target, over."

--

Victoria had been seriously considering following after Jo when she heard familiar voices outside. She immediately spun around and ran out the door joyfully calling "Jamie!"

--

"Jo!" Three exclaimed with dismay as the Master triumphantly dragged the smaller girl up from behind his bank of machines. Three watched as he grimly pulled her over to a sturdy chair and pushed her down into it. He rapidly bound her to it with a bit of rope, obviously irritated that they'd been interrupted.

Three gathered his composure back together, trying to hide his concern for his companion from the Master, though he knew as well as the Master that mere rope wasn't likely to hold Jo long.

He held out his own bound hands. "Perhaps you'd rather you hadn't used your cuffs up on me? I'm willing to have them off, if it's any help," he offered politely.

--

"Oh no, Doctor." The Master said with a mocking smile. "You can keep your cuffs as long as you like."

Jo was already at work on getting out of the bindings. The Master had been sure to tie them tightly but she already had it looser.

--

"Where's my third self?" Seven asked, peering into the barn.

"Oh. Having a chat with the Master. Jo went in after him." Ace said, peering in after him.

"What?" Seven turned to her. "She went in after him? What could she have been thinking?"

"She said he wouldn't shoot her." Ace explained. "But I can't really see why."

Seven hurried over to Two, Jamie, Victoria, and Zoe. "Our third self is having a chat with the Master." He paused. "Jo went in after them. So, come on. We've got work to do." He said, turned and began walking toward the barn entrance with Ace hurrying after him.

--

Ten climbed out of the Jeep followed by Rose and Martha. Rose eyes him strangely as he bit at the pocket in which he kept his sonic screwdriver.

"Are you incapable of using your hands?" Rose asked.

"What?" Ten asked. "Oh. I can use them." He said, bringing his hands in her face and wiggling his fingers. "See?"

"Yes I was going to tell you that," said Nine as he ran after them, "but you weren't really listening."

"At least we're pretty much all accounted for now," Nyssa pointed out, "If the Jeep shows up we'll all be here except for the Doctor and his companion who we left at UNIT."

--

Martha jumped out of the jeep with Rose and Ten, she ignored his attempts to bite his pocket, she figured they were getting close to where they would be able to figure out what was going on. "Benton, are you coming?" she glanced back at him while they started toward the clearing. "You wouldn't want to be left behind during this would you?"

"No Miss, I wouldn't," the lanky Sergeant said as he followed after. "But I'd be careful!" He waved an arm to signal at the other UNIT men, who all began creeping through the grass to gradually surround the barn.

--

"Zoe!" Jamie said happily, accepting a welcoming embrace from her just before both of them were nearly knocked sideways by Victoria's enthustiastic welcome as well. "Victoria!"

Victoria released him long enough to give Zoe a measured look then firmly took one of his arms. "Come on, we might be needed," she said, towing him with her.

Two raised his brows, gave a shrug and ducked into the dimness of the barn.

--

The Brigadier rang the lab.

"Mfwah?" came an answer on the phone.

"Doctor? Is that you? One of you, I mean?" asked the Brigadier, wondering if someone had been bound and gagged. "Is everything all right?"

There were some garbled noises, a loud swallow then Six's authoritative voice. "Of course I'm all right. Peri, hand me the other half of that chicken pasty. What is it?"

"I just thought you'd like to know we've just heard from our men in the field. The rest of you have arrived at their target location and are closing in on the Master."

"Oh. Well, that's good. Yes, quite good. Wish them luck and all that. Let me know if you need anything else."

"Don't you have any questions, any ideas?"

"Why should I? I'm sure it's taken care of and if it isn't, that's hardly my fault is it?" He hung up and happily went back to inserting pickle slices into his pasty.

The Brigadier considered the dead phone in his hand, then slowly hung it up. "There's GOT to be some kind of mistake with that one."

--

"Well in that case," said Three, "I suppose I rather have to accept your hospitality a bit longer." He bent, apparently to look at one of the readouts while using a foot to flip the lock off of the metal cabinet that was serving as a table. He gave it a tiny nudge... yes, it could potentially roll, given enough of a push... He signaled this to Jo with his eyebrows, but had no idea if she understood.

--

The Doctors all waggled their eyebrows, to the consternation and confusion of not only their companions but themselves.

"What was that?" wondered Two, reaching up to feel his own face.

"I was with my doctor long enough to learn that Benton," said Martha, "No need to worry about us not being careful."

--

"I don't know," Nine answered Two, "But I'm pretty sure we've all been experiencing things like that."

"Yes, and it's probably coming from in here," said Five as the last of their group came into the barn. "Unless there's something else going on, but I certainly hope there isn't."

Jo, as normal, couldn't make sense out of what Three was trying to tell her with his eyebrows but she soon caught on as he was examining the wheels on the table.

--

Ten waggled his eyebrows at Rose as if trying to say something.

"Doctor." Rose sighed. "I can't make sense of what you're doing."

--

Ace looked curiously at Seven as his eyebrows moved in an odd way. "Are you alright, Professor?" She asked.

--

"There!" One said, finally getting the spring and button back into place. As he spoke his eye brows moved up and down in an odd fashion.

"Are you're eyes alright?" Ian asked.

"What? What's wrong with my eyes?" One asked in a slightly offended voice. "My eyes are perfectly fine."

"Grandfather, why don't you just tell us what's going on?" Susan whined.

As five's eyebrows also got some exercise Nyssa had no idea of what to make of it; her doctor was acting very strangely. She also noticed their newest arrival moving his eyebrows, this was very odd.

It was now or never. Three waited until the Master had begun to turn back towards Jo and gave the metal table as hard a push as he could. It was even heavier than he'd estimated - what had the Master put in the drawers? Blocks of lead? The table rolled, a veritable battering-ram and very nearly accomplished its goal...if it hadn't been for the unfortunate squealing of the overtaxed wheels.

The wheels gave the Master that fraction of a second that he needed to react, that moment that made the difference between being pinned against the wall by a massive rectangle of Doctor-driven metal and getting away...

The Master spun around to see the table heading for him. He was caught. Jo took the moment to leap up from her chair, which she had unbound herself from long ago, and hurried for the door. "I'll get help!" She said, before hurrying out. She ran across the barn, so worried that she didn't even notice what was going on up ahead.

--

Without warning Ten pushed Rose causing her to stumble into Zoe who had just avoided being knocked over by Two. Zoe fell over onto Seven who would have been fine if he hadn't just pushed Ace who ran into Five and Nyssa.

Three was torn between gladness that Jo had made it out the door and alarm that the Master wasn't nearly as pinned as he would've liked him to be. Besides, now that the table had slammed the wall there was no way he could pull it back the other direction again, not with his hands still cuffed the way they were. The Master grimly squirmed to one side and slammed down the switches and knobs within his reach. Three grit his teeth and fell to his knees as both heat and electrical current shot up his arms.

--

Six stood in the hallway outside the lab and considered the significant dent in the wall that the tea-trolley had left when he'd suddenly slammed it right through the double-doors. Taking one finger, he carefully scooped a long streak of strawberry jam from the wall and licked it off pensively.

"You know, I think there may be something odd going on after all," he commented to Peri. He reached down and jerked the handle of the cart out of the wallboard. "Unaccountable. Most strange. I think I need a cake and tea to think this over."

--

"Ooof!" said Jamie as Two's sudden shove missed Zoe by a hair and caught him instead. He stumbled sideways into Victoria, who gave a small shriek of surprise as she in turn was knocked into Nyssa and Five from the other side. They all tumbled to the ground in a pile.

"Good gracious me," Two said in a muffled voice from underneath Seven and Rose. "I do think we have a problem."

And then the heat began again.

Five had missed Nyssa with his push and had merely fallen onto the pile with the rest, having been pushed by Nine as well. Nine had missed being pushed or fallen on and was the only one still standing, Martha had got in the way of the dominoes as well. She and Nyssa untangled themselves as all the Doctors began slowly to feel a strange heat.

The Master laughed despite being pinned to the wall. Managing to pull away he spoke, "Having trouble moving, Doctor?" He asked, grinning. His anger at the fact Jo had escaped was washed away by the pride that he had succeeded in making the level rise on the machine.

--

Jo was running quick quickly, quicker than she was thinking. She had no time to stop by the time her mind registered that Nine was standing right in front of her. With a loud yelp she crashed into him knocking them both to the ground to join the rest of the group.

Everyone started to get up from the ground, trying to sort out the chaos. Jo leap to her feet. "Sorry." She said quickly. Normally she would be embarrassed from crashing into someone blindly, but she was too worried to be embarrassed. "The Doct- My Doctor is in there and the Master is experimenting on him with some machine! Please hurry!" She said in one breath and then turned around and began running back waving for them all to follow.

Most of them managed to get up fairly quickly to follow them, Nyssa pulling along her Doctor and Martha assuming Rose would handle Ten. Nine got up and looked around to see if anyone else needed help getting up.

"Gotten himself into trouble already? I might have known," Two grumbled, brushing bits of hay off his coat. "Would serve him right if he weren't me." He wobbled slightly at his unaccountably weak knees and shook out his tingling arms.

Jamie immediately reached over and supported Two. "Are y' all right?"

"Yes, yes, yes," he said irritably. "Just a bit warm in here, isn't it? I deeply suspect it has something to do with whatever is happening to me."

"What's happening to you?" Victoria asked.

"I mean to me. My other me; that frippery me in there, where I'm with that Master chap! Come along, it seems we're dealing with the problem en masse."

--

Six pulled up a lab stool and propped himself up on it, pulling off his coat as he did so. It was so hot in here.

"Are you all right?" Peri asked yet again.

"Yes, quit fluttering around me!" He growled, waving a hand at her. "My blood-sugar must be low. Hand me that roast-beef sandwich."

--

Outside, the UNIT men slowly moved inward, except for those back in the trees who were working on a bazooka, just in case. The helicopter lifted off, moving out of any potential line of fire though it stayed nearby.

--

Three fought to get to his feet, trying to reach something that might be of use, a power cord, the controls, anything. It was no use. The meteorite began to hum beneath its dome, the connectors glowing as current fed through them. All around him he could feel Time itself warping, his vision strangely blurring with images of other parts of the barn, other points of view, various companions and - with a most bizarre juxtapositioning - a roast-beef sandwich.

--

"Oh! Oh my." One said, putting his hand to his forehead. "It's getting rather hot in here."

"Grandfather, are you alright?" Susan asked.

"Oh yes. Quite alright, my dear." One assured her.

Ian exchanged a look with Barbara. "I think we should get back to the others."

"What? Oh no, they can handle this themselves." He said, fiddling with the controls. The column on the console began to move up and down and the TARDIS started to dematerialize. The engine groaned and the TARDIS stopped. One flipped on the scanner.

"We haven't even moved." Ian said. He opened the TARDIS door and saw the exact same view as before, not even an inch over.

--

The Master looked at the readings on the machine and frowned. They were high, too high. Perhaps this was doing more than he expected to the Doctor. But he refused to stop, not at a point like this. The other scales flipped up and down, lights flashed.

--

Seven and Ace rushed after Jo, followed by Ten who strode ahead of his former self as Rose hurried to keep up with him. As the reached the door Jo pounded on it. "It's locked!"

"I'll take care of it." Ace said. taking off her backpack and opening it up.

"Ace..." Sever started.

"Everyone stand back." She said, setting something by the door.

Barbara knew what Ian was getting at but they had to convince the Doctor that they had to go join the others. "Really Doctor, they all seem a bit like they're not too sure what they're doing. They probably do need your help by now."

________

"You know Ace, one of us could probably get the door open..." Nine started as well.

Martha simply backed up, she could tell that particular companion was not the type to listen to suggestions.

Jamie would've run ahead to Jo, but hampered by Victoria hanging on one arm and Zoe on the other he was hard pressed to even keep up with Two as the little Doctor did a quick bob-and-weave through the crowded hallway.

Everyone surged forward until they realized what Ace was doing and suddenly reversed.

"Back!" Two said, kicking up little clods of dried hay and cow-patty in his effort to skid to a halt. He turned and ran back so quickly he broke through the line of Victoria-Jamie-Zoe like it was a child's Red Rover-Red Rover game.
