"Everyone get down!" Ace called, tackling Rose and Ten who had not backed up yet. There was an explosion as pieces of the door flew both inward and outward. Hopping up she grinned at her work.

Seven hurried up to her, coughing. "Ace," He said pulling her gently away from everyone. "Sometimes there are better ways to break into a room than to blow up the door."

"Sorry, Professor." She said, though her eyes showed no apologies.

--

The Master's eyes widened as the door exploded and the doorknob came flying at him. He dodged it but in the process it hit the machine that was hooked up to the Doctor. With a few sparks and crashes in the smoke it broke down and the charge left his fellow timelord.

--

"They are perfectly capable of taking care of things themselves." One said.

"But grandfather..." Susan started.

"The Doctor may be right." Ian said. "Amazing how one person can be eight places at once." He added, chuckling at his own joke.

--

Jo coughed. She could think of many ways to get into a locked room. Blowing up the door was not one of them. She hurried over to Jamie, Victoria, and Zoe. "Are you alright?" She asked, helping Jamie to his feet, ignoring the sharp looks that Zoe was giving her.

"What was that?" one of the UNIT men asked his officer as the ground shook from something exploding inside. "Do you think we should investigate?"

Sergeant Benton considered the barn and the number of Doctors inside it. In some ways it was surprising there hadn't been even more explosions or other odd effects by now. "No, I think they've enough people in there they'll let us know if we need to move in. Stay where you are and keep watch, Corporal."

"Yessir."

--

Jamie shook off the pile of girls. "Doctor! Are you all right?" he called, looking for his own version and getting a variety of answers from his various personas. Seeing Two all in one piece (unless you counted his being in ten pieces) and brushing bits of door off his coat, he relaxed enough to briefly turn his attention back to the Jo, Zoe and Victoria, all of whom seemed determined to get every bit of hay off of him.

"Are ye all right?" he asked them. "We need to go catch that Master!"

--

When the doorknob blew off it was fortunate that Three was already on the floor or it might have caused some serious damage. He wasn't really sure what exactly had happened, but whatever it was had done one marvelous, blessed thing - it had finally stopped that infernal amplifier that had been hooked up to the meteorite. He curled up on the floor out of sheer relief, his vision still a panoramic fan of viewpoints, but starting to fold inward.

"Fell apart, did it?" he managed to quip faintly. "Typical shoddy work. You should've anticipated it."

Nine gave up on trying to keep track of everyone else who was there and Martha was reaching that point as well, she ran to catch up with Rose and Ten who were picking themselves up from where Ace had tackled them. Five and Nyssa, being relatively near the back were hurrying to join the others at the door.

---

Barbara followed Ian's lead and hoped he knew what he was doing.

Once Jo was over the shock of the explosion, and she had made sure nobody was hurt she rushed into the room and straight over to Three who was curled up on the floor.

"Don't move, Miss Grant." The Master's voice came from behind. She slowly turned to see a gun pointed at her.

"Oh." She said. "Not again."

Seven and Ace were the next ones in after Jo (despite Ten's attempts to get there first). "Back to your old ways?" Seven asked.

"Put that gun down or I'll mphnsmn..." Ace was cut off as Seven put his hand over her mouth.

Ten rushed in and stopped, seeing the Master, Three, Jo, Seven, and Ace. It took him a moment to realize that Rose was no longer with him though Martha was there.

--

Rose walked with Nine, tired of the quick rushing about of Ten and just tired of his never ending energy. It was nice to be with him again, to be with her Doctor.

--

Zoe, though she hid it well, was glad when Jo rushed off to help other people and then hurried into the room. The smoke was gone and she could clearly see that Ace had blown away more than just the door but in fact half the wall. She turned back to Jamie and Two.

--

"That should do it." One said, flipping a switch on the controls the scanner turned on.

"All that work just to fix the scanner?" Ian asked in an amused tone.

"Yes. The wiring connecting it to the computer was... was mi-mil- not working." He said.

Martha wondered if the Master could possibly think he could still succeed if there was a whole room full of Doctors. Surely he couldn't be that big-headed.

--

Five came in the room, more through where the wall had been than where the door had been, and went to the other side of the room, making sure there was no exit for the master. He was followed by Nyssa.

--

Nine turned to Rose, "so you've come back now, I was looking for you."

Three sat up slowly, rubbing the back of his head. "Good heavens," he said, seeing the room full of himself and his assorted companions. "I didn't need this much help, I was doing perfectly fine." He looked over at the Master. "Oh, put that away! You might hurt someone. Get used to it, you're outnumbered."

Two pulled out his handkerchief and wrapped it around the Master's gun, pulling it from his hand. "There's a good man, and let that poor girl go. I don't know when I'll be meeting you properly, but I must say I'm not too impressed with your conduct thus far. And you call yourself a Time Lord?" He absently handed the wrapped gun to Five and wiped his hands on his coat.

Three tried to get up, still hampered by the cuffs. "If one of you would be so kind as to remove these, I'll take over from here."

"Now see here," Jamie protested. "Haven't y' any gratitude? Just because that Master man is in your own time doesn't mean the rest o' us haven't been workin' to..."

"Yes," Two said, waving Jamie into silence. "Don't be stupid, there's a good chap. We've all been experiencing it with you, we know... well, we know at least a little of what's been happening." He poked at the remains of the Master's contraption. "So...this is an interesting little bit of a time-bending project." He looked around the room. "What do the rest of me think about this?"

Five took the gun from Two and decided to hang on to it long enough to give it to Benton, he would have somewhere to put it. Then he went and joined the rest of himself looking at the Master's contraption.

"If you remove the power source it should stop working, right?" said Nine after glancing at it.

Martha thought he sounded very confident in himself but now that she thought about it, so did her Doctor.

"If I'm not mistaken," Ten said, walking over to the machine. "This is already disabled."

The Master stood with his hands in the air as the Doctors and companions surrounded him. His plan had failed, but they would not catch him yet. He would find a way out.

"Yes. It appears your explosives did more damage than we thought," Seven said. "Good work, Ace."

"Thanks, Professor!" Ace smiled.

"If it's not working anymore then we can all go home, right?" Jo asked, unlocking the handcuffs that held Three's hands.

Ace knelt down and took them. "Here." She handed them to Seven who then locked them on the Master's wrists. The Master was irritated by this but didn't see a way out of it.

Three rubbed his singed wrists. "Thank you, Jo. You've more courtesy than all the rest of me put together."

Jamie grinned. "No, you never were verra good at lookin' out for yourself."

Victoria took Jamie's arm, watching as Seven clicked the cuffs onto the Master. "What are they going to do with him?"

"Take him back to UNIT, I think. At least they have some understanding of what he is and can keep him under watch," Three said. "The meteorite should be taken with us, and possibly some of this equipment as well."

Two looked up at Nine and Ten. "I think I'm right, it's quite disabled. I would suggest I take it along to study it more properly, if I'm in agreement with myself?"

"I already said we should," grumbled Three. "That capacitator, the dome connectors and those three units there."

Two looked over at Five, "What does the young cricketer me think?"

"I notice that you aren't listening to me," Three pointed out.

"Some parts of me are a such a bore," Two said, smiling up at the others. He looked over at his companions. "Victoria, would you let our good Sergeant Benton know we've captured the Master? Thank you."

"I agree with myself" said Five, "and it seems I"m ignoring myself over there though," he nodded at Three.

Martha noticed that Rose seemed to be staying more with Nine now and went over to stand by Ten, she was starting to feel confused again.

The Master laughed in a mocking way. "Well, Doctor. It seems that you are having a bit of problems with yourself."

"This equipment?" Jo asked, standing up and motioning to some part of the device.

"Yes, that, these, and those." Seven said, gathering the equipment.

Ace picked up the units and Seven carried the dome connectors while Ten took the capacitor. Jo, left with empty hands helped Three to his feet.

Rose wasn't sure what to do. Everything seemed to be handled and so she just stood there beside Nine and watched everything happen.

---

The UNIT men watched as Six took his third tray of sandwiches. Of course this was after two pies, five apple dumplings, four bowls of soup, and many other things that had come before. His call for another cart of food made them wonder how many people where in the lab, but it was quite a shock to find only the multi-coloured man and the dark haired girl.

"This is the same man as that old scientist?" The first man asked the other quietly.

"He might be an imposter." The second answered.

"We should inform the Brigadier." The first said and stood up. The two men strode down the hall into the Brigadier's office, saluting.

"Permission to speak, sir." The second said.

Yay for Gondorgirl! I love Five Doctors, good fun.

"Come in," the Brigadier replied, shuffling some papers off to the side. He'd been catching up on forms while listening in on the radio, but so far the updates from Benton hadn't been too informative. Maybe these men would give him a welcome distraction from the Doctor's strange shenanigans, seeing as they were dressed for canteen duty. "What is it? Sugar-ants in the pantry again?"

--

The remaining Doctors snatched up various parts that they thought might be of use and began hustling the Master along with them out of the barn.

Jamie sidled up to Jo as they went. "Are y' all right? You're a right brave lass."

Victoria ran ahead of them, out into the surrounding grasses. "Sergeant?" she called. "Where are you?"

Benton stood up with a nod. "Here, Miss. Do you need any help?"

"No, oh no. I think everything's fine now. The Doctor - well, all the Doctors that is, he's.... they've captured that Master, the one all in black. A terribly wicked man, you know. They told me to let you know we'll need UNIT to take him into proper custody. He said you knew how to watch him."

"We'll certainly do our best, Miss," Benton said. He took a deep breath and picked up his radio comm. "Trap One to Greyhound."

--

"Just a moment," the Brigadier said as he picked up the radio comm. "Greyhound here."

"It looks like they've got him, sir. The Master. They want to bring him back to HQ, so we'll need a holding cell ready."

"They caught him? And all the Doctors are all right?" The Brigadier was frankly a little surprised at this.

"As far as I know, none of them have come out yet."

"Well, let me know if there's any further developments. Remember his eyes are dangerous, be sure to cover them up."

"Right. I think we have a bag..." Benton said, sounding quite cheerful on that note.

"Greyhound out."

This is just like the Five Doctors. Four just happened to not be there.

"Sir, we think that the one in the colours is an imposter." One of the UNIT men said.

---

"Yes, I'm fine." Jo said with her normal sweet smile. "I hope that the Master is going to be jailed up for good this time. Last time he hypnotized the guards and escaped." She grinned at Three "Make sure they put him somewhere safe this time."

The Master mentally laughed. Keep him locked up? Rubbish!

Zoe gave up on trying to grab Jamie's attention and walked over to Two. Things would be back to normal once all this confusion was over.

Seven and Ace carefully carried the parts to Bessie and put them in the boot. Ten set his down as well and closed it up. "Well, looks like it's time to leave."

"Wait. We can't leave until this meteor is taken care of. Suggestions?" Seven asked.

"We could put some dinami-" Ace started.

"No." Seven cut her off.

Three started to follow the rest then turned back. "We need that meteorite as well!" he pointed out as they all absconded with the equipment and left the rock. He started to reach for it, then pulled back as he felt the time distortion emanating from it. It was still warm. "Jo, can you get that? I...it seems to be problematic for me at the moment."

Jamie had been lingering and perked up at this. "I'll get it for ye," he said generously, pleased to get to do something for Jo. "I wouldn't want a wee bonny lass like yourself hefting that..." She started to take umbrage at his patronizing her for being a girl, but he smiled at her so winningly she quickly gave way. He quickly lifted the hunk of warm black rock and tucked it under his arm so he could offer her his other one, only to find Three had already taken her under his own arm instead and sort of scooped her away.

--

"An imposter?" the Brigadier asked. "Why ever would you think that? I was given to understand he arrived in a TARDIS, the same as the rest....didn't he? Has he acted in some way that's unlike the Doctor?"

--

"Here we go, just the ticket," Benton said, pulling out a large brown paper sack. "We can put this over his head and he won't be able to hypnotize anyone."

"He hypnotizes people? How awful!" said Victoria.

This is just like the Five Doctors. Four just happened to not be there.

maybe just for fun we should add him and 8 so we can have all of them, they can just pop in and say hi :D

I got a hat like the fifth Doctor's for Christmas!!:)

Nine was not content to just stand there with Rose for long and gathered up a too-large pile of equipment which he kept dropping. Rose walked behind him and picked up what he dropped.

Five helped the rest of himself take what was left of the equipment, sharing what he had to carry with Nyssa who looked like she would like to help but was still confused.

Jo let herself be swept away by Three and walked with him. Though he always seemed to take her away from young men, she smiled at the thought that he cared about her.

As they all reached Bessie the familiar sounds that had filled the air far too many times that day began as a police box materialized beside Bessie. The door opened and a tall man with curly brown hair walked out, took one wide eyes look at the crowd and returned to his TARDIS, slamming the door. The TARDIS sputtered and groaned as it faded slightly for a moment and then became solid again. Thee door opened again and the tall man walked out again. "Would any of you mind explaining why there are... one, two, four.... Four of me here?"

"Nine." Ten corrected. "We're still missing the eighth-"

"Ten! Well I've been busy. Sarah!" He called into the TARDIS and Sarah Jane came out. "Doctor?" She stared at Three and then back at Four. "What's going on here?"

--

"Yes sir. He's nearly emptied the canteen. AS far as we know the Doctor will sometimes go near a day without food." The UNIT man replied.

"He's in the lab." The second added.

The Brigadier sighed and pushed his papers to the side. If it wasn't one thing it was another. "Very well, your concern has been noted gentlemen. It does sound unusual. Until we can ascertain this man's identity, go ahead with meeting any reasonable demands he makes; keep him happy as long as it doesn't involve anything explosive, immoral or violent."

The canteeen men left and he sat for a moment, pensively tapping his chin. "Oh blast it. I suppose I ought to at least take a look... It really doesn't sound like the Doctor..." he said and got up, heading out his door for the lab.

--

The Doctors brought the Master up to Benton, who popped the bag over his head and breathed a sigh of relief. "That does it," he said. "Let's get him in the jeep."

The sound of a TARDIS materializing made them all pause, watching with an assortment of reactions as their Fourth version showed up.

"That meteorite is at it again," Three grumbled. "Which one is this?"

Jamie looked down at the rock he was carrying with some alarm. "I didn't make it do that, did I?"

"No no, at least I don't think so," Two reassured him. "This is another of me, is it? What a ridiculously long scarf. I don't like it."

"The Fourth of us," said Five "So both of you are getting there."

"I'd forgotten about he scarf for a second..." Nine muttered to himself.

"So how are we going to stop this meteorite from doing this?" asked Nyssa, "All of you don't really want to be trapped here for the rest of... er... your life..."

"Yes, fourth." Four said, flipping his scarf back over his shoulder. "Sarah, are you alright?"

Sarah nodded and hurried over to Three. "Doctor, how are you both here?" She asked him.

Four strode up. "Yes, or are you all just as lost as we are oh dear." He said as he saw the Master. He came up to the Master, took the bag off his head and quickly put it back.

"It figures it would be you causing all this." Four said.

"I merely provided the scienti-" The Master started.

"It is very hard to talk to a man with no face." He took a marker out of his coat pocket and drew a curved line and two dots on the bag. "There." He grinned, showing his large white teeth. "You look happy for a man with a bag on his head."

--

Ian sat on a chair in the control room next to Barbara, watching One work on the console.

"He's been at it for hours. I don't think we'll be going anywhere soon." Ian sighed. He laughed. "You know, we could always go and see what the others are up to."
