Curumo, how have I violated the rules?

I don't think you've violated the rules. I think you confused him by asking the judges whether they wanted to take your verdict. They're not all on now, and can't do it now. Hopefully they will all be able to read over the pages and see what everyone thinks before they render a verdict. If he was telling someone to leave, I think it was the irrespressible Jimmy.

Umm guys I think it would be helpful if we didn't have much conversation here, and just talked about the trial. It leaves less pages for the judges to read. Perhaps PMing people would be more efficient.

I believe the Pirate, Thedryadhobbit, has given an ample post-by-post account of what took place.
That's the Pirate Chief Gunner, The Twilight Terror to ye wizard!

It is a point of order now established. Let the trial continue, and carefully read over Thedryadhobbit's two posts. Any conversation that must take place must be taken in another thread (i.e. Rangers, Pirates, Mandalores) or in P.M.

I can't really say much after what Twilight has said...she basically summed up what happened. Apolo was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Any pirate could have been chosen fer a duel which would leave a Ranger dead.

And actually, I don't remember the no back-stabbin' rule, I assumed people had made it up when I was offline. We have powers, do ye expect us not to use em? I think this whole thing is ridiculous. Well, ye arr landlubbers...

Another thing must be made known - no one in this castle shall bear weapons, save the guards and the Court Marshall alone. This includes any Rangers, Pirates, Beasts, Mandalores, or others who join in this case.

The Elf_of_the_Grey_Havens is now officially appointed a law lord in this case.

I be sorry, but I have specific orders to hold weaponry, and I hold me fellow pirates orders higher than yers. And I think we should wait till Apolo be here fer the trial...

Curumo, I think this rule is going to be impossible to enforce. You made it up today, and while I can see the reasoning, we did not know about it, and our pirates are already armed. I think if we have equal arming, it might work out, so if we have arms, all your people can have them too. But if you really want us unarmed, PM Queen Aravis 48, our Captain and ask her. I'll warn you though, it's not like us pirates to ever be without weapons. And who are the guards and court marshal? Are they neutral? How can we be sure, and why should be trust them? We pirates trust no one that we're battling, and with good reason.

Of course, convince me that there is good reason behind this, and that we can trust the guards, and I could give the order to disarm. I'm in charge of all guns and other arms. But as of right now, I'm not givin' the order yet. All pirates are under this order though:

DO NOT START A FIGHT (OR RESPOND TO A CHALLENGE OR FINISH A FIGHT) WITH ANYONE! NO MATTER HOW FUN AND SILLY THE DUEL, LAY OFF IT TILL THIS STINKIN TRIAL IS OVER! AND DON'T FORGET IT!

Though I'm not a Judge. As the official Medic, seeing the damage done to Elindils back. I say Apolo should be banned from all group threads for a month. I'll take care of the cooking.

I'd rather die than go a month without Apolo's chocolate cake! I think Elf's suggestions were very reasonable. Actually they weren't--this whole trial is based on the fact that Apolo did somethin' wrong, which he didn't. Apolo should not face any punishment fer breakin' a rule that didn't even exist until he did it.

Look LM, you quit the game by killing yourself. You can't re-enter as another character.

WOW! Pretty harsh fer our good cook. I would be a bit more lenient on him, because he didn't mean to kill Elendil. Elendil decided herself to die, which, to me, is as much a suicide as Lion's Mane's. If anything in that direction, I would ban Apolo for a week.

I also think this trial also hinges on a few things, which I would like the judges to think about:

1. What are the rules of fair dueling?
2. Did we decide on these rules together? (To this, I would answer, NOT when I was on!)
3. Should we decide them now?
4. Should we punish someone for violating an unwritten code of behavior, and if so, how harshly?

I realize backstabbing is hardly ever permissible, but if we start punishing it harshly now, we'll have quite a few prisoner before long if we start digging in the threads. That may not be an impediment to you. If you want to start it now, just realize that it will affect more people than Apolo.

I agree that backstabbing is not good, but I think if we start punishing for that, we should also agree on a WRITTEN code of the rules of fair dueling. Just my two cents again.

They be not cents, Twilight, they be gems. Ye've basically said everythin' I felt (except I'm not very good at expressing things like this; too short an attention span) and I think Apolo should be let off scot free.

no matter what you say apolo helped in the death of elindil.

if he never stabbed her in the spine she would've been perfect and that beast wouldt've came into her tent to kill her!
