Brin folded her arms over her knees and rested her head on them. that had been her ten years ago. so happy so willing to just help...obliviouse to everything. she was happy that Mara had no clue what was going on but it hurt so much to see her mom pretend
Mara shook her head making a face at the thought of lettuce. She jumped down from her stool and ran over to the fridge and pulled out the cheese and meat.
"Not yet, we have to cook the taco shells so they don't break," Lisa said, pulling a skillet out of the cabinet. She took the taco shells from the counter and set them on the skillet. "Should we set the table?"
Brin felt her phone vibrating against her leg and she could here Mara coming to get her but she didn't move. she didn't want to admit how hard listening to them was and if anyone heard her or saw her face they would know righ away
She quickly got up before Mara got to the stairs and ran into her room. Mara was young but she would know womehting wasn't right. closing the door and reached for her cell and smiled as she pulled up the message.
