Caspian/ Ramandu's daughter...

I think they should have her get on the ship. There is no way they can make a belivable romance, when Caspian is on the Island for only a day. So expect a lot of their love to be on the dawn treader. Seeing this is a Disney film, it may be something a little cliched. I can belive them filming Caspian teaching Ramandu's Daughter how to use a sword and them giving each other romantic glances while doing so.

Do you think Apted will turn Ramandu's Daughter into a warrior princess, the same way Adamson turned Susan into a warrior princess.
Agreed! But doesn't it say just by looking at her he loves [or whatever] her???

Then there is the fact that he spent some time wintering at Ramandu's Island, don't think they rowed all the way back to Narnia. It doesn't say that Caspian fell in love with her at first sight in the book, but it does imply so with this line: "In that story he could not dissolve the enchantment until he had kissed the Princess." I would imagine that Caspian fell for her pretty darned quick after they got back to the island, if he did not when he got there first. Convincing her to love him may have taken more time or she may have known from the start (being the daughter of a star) that she was destined to be the wife of King Caspian.

No worries, Empress. We say "hades" or something like that ...

The problem created for the new director by the stupid kiss at the end of PC is that if we are left hanging about Caspian's future with StarGirl at the end of VDT, it will look like Caspian is a fickle guy who just teases with whatever beautiful girl is around! We need to know for sure that in VDT StarGirl is his one true love.

The way I interpret this is based on Prince Caspian's reference to the fairy tales about kissing the princess to break the curse. Ramandu's daughter replies that it happens the other way around the island: the curse must be broken before the princess can be kissed. Regardless, they are both surrendering to fairy tale conventions which never require too much explanation for love. Caspian acts by what Chesterton called "The ethics of Elfland." Of course I just finished VDT for the first time yesterday, so I haven't had so much time to think about all this.

Or they may turn it into a musical, with both running around the ship as in a cat-an-mouse game with Caspian beginning: "I can show you the world, shinning, shimmering, splendid....."

hahaha.. and then they'd start singing "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" in Lion King with Ed and Lucy as Timon and Pumba:D.. as in:

[Ed:]
I can see what's happening
([Lucy:] What?)

[Ed:]
And they don't have a clue
([Lucy:] Who?)

[Ed
They'll fall in love and here's the bottom line

Our trio's down to two.
([Lucy:] Oh.)

[In a sarcastic mock-French accent]

Ze sweet caress of twilight

[Back to normal, but still sarcastic]

There's magic everywhere
And with all this romantic atmosphere
Disaster's in the air

[Both Ed and Lucy:]
Can you feel the love tonight?
The peace the evening brings
The world, for once, in perfect harmony
With all its living things

[CAspian:]
So many things to tell her
But how to make her see
The truth about my past? Impossible!
She'd turn away from me

[Stargirl:]
He's holding back, he's hiding
But what, I can't decide
Why won't he be the king I know he is
The king I see inside?

[Chorus:]
Can you feel the love tonight?
The peace the evening brings
The world, for once, in perfect harmony
With all its living things
Can you feel the love tonight?
You needn't look too far
Stealing through the night's uncertainties
Love is where they are

[Ed:]
And if he falls in love tonight
It can be assumed

[Lucy:]
His carefree days with us are history

[Ed and Lucy:]
In short, our pal is doomed

I know that was said in gest but "Can you feel the love tonight" would never be appropriate for Lu and Ed to sing. It was all about Timon and Pumba lamenting that Simba remembered he was straight.

But nothing like that stops Disney from doing whatever they think it's popular to bring in the bucks.
See what they did? Turn Narnia into a joke even among true fans.

HAAAAAAAAAA!! :D Or they could re-create the similar scene in Stardust on Shakespeare's ship...that might be more fitting, LOL! Which would directly follow Caspian standing up and yelling, "I AM THE KING OF NARNIA!!" with his arms spread out.

Very interesting! Chesterton is awesome ;)

*Dies laughing* It IS a Disney movie, after all.

YOU ARE PSYCHIC!! I've had this idea in my head to do a video of Caspian/Stargirl to this song after VDT comes out...XDXD Except I had Drinian in Timon's place...ROFLMHO!!!!!!!!!!!

Or they COULD have them run around on the island for awhile singing, "I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream"...and this would henceforth reference to Caspian's very lovely Blue-fairy-appears-to-Pinocchio-esque dream sequence in which he sees stargirl. LOL or just give them a bowl of spaghetti and play italian music and see what happens. Oh, the iconic Disney images one could inject into this movie...haha

Chesterton Schmeshterton! Beh! The explanation is really simple: She wasn't as easy as they made Susan in PC!

Oh yeah? Well, does everybody like him? I mean really, really like him as they like Curly of the Three Stooges? Well? Do they? My point exactly.

C.S. LEWIS AND J.R.R. TOLKIEN were greatly influenced by him. A lot of their philosophy is based in part upon his philosophy. So...yeah. Without Chesterton, we probably wouldn't have Narnia. :D

LOL, but as for the Three Stooges...does anybody even remember them? SHAME. Modern culture is so deprived!! STUPID MEDIA CONSPIRATORS!! STOP RUINING OUR TV/MOVIE INFLUENCES! WHAT PERSON IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WANTS TO WATCH SOME CRAZY PEOPLE LINE UP TO MARRY SOME DUDE THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW ON NATIONAL TV?! YOU HAVE CORRUPTED THE ICONIC IMAGE OF TELEVISION AND NOW NO ONE IS IN THEIR RIGHT MIND BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE JERRY SPRINGER AND THE STUPID BACHELOR! AND BEING STRANDED ON AN ISLAND WITH A BUNCH OF OTHER CONTESTANTS WHO HAVE TO EAT BUGS TO WIN THE FAVOR OF THE VOTE IS NOT REALITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO DECENT CHILDREN'S SHOWS?! "BOOBAH" IS NOT AN APPROPRIATE KIDS' SHOW!!!! THAT IS THE CREEPIEST THING TO BE AIRED ON TELEVISION SINCE THE X-FILES AND IT'S AIMED AT KIDS!!!!!!!!

okay, I'll stop now. :p that had nothing to do w/ anything...

was it really that? i mean, i always had the impression that they sang it coz they were afraid he might leave them and stuff.. :)

oh well! this is off the topic..

hahaha.. it just popped into my head when BK mentioned the Aladdin "I Can Show You the World" thing.. and you're right, maybe Drinian would be more appropriate to sing the lines cuz after all Ed and Lucy would be back in our place by then.. what's the point of lamenting?? ;)

HAHA back on topic ;)

I honestly love those two. Their scenes are so short in the book, but for some reason they have a real "connection". I dunno. I think it's they way they talk to each other and stargirl's smile at the very end. ;) And that line about kissing the princess? I can only imagine what Caspian's face looks like when he says that...I mean, why do you think he'd say it? Come on... :p I cannot wait for Ben to do that scene. I think I'm going to jump up and down in my seat squeeing. They'd better keep it in!
