Caspian/ Ramandu's daughter...

well, I think that no matter how or what the writers do to clear up "THE KISS" its never gonna get perfectly cleared up for audiences. Everyone is gonna be like, "hey! Waitta sec!"

but as long as they REALLY make Caspian and the Star Girl's relationship a big enough deal that people kinda forget about Susan's kiss, I think it'll all work out.

I still agree with everyone else about all this, though. :) It woudl have been so much simpler if they had just left the kiss out!
Oh well. I know that books ussually get changed for the purposes of screen adaptation. I always hated that...but i guess sometimes its necessary for moives ot move along quicker...

If it DOES become an issue, I could see it being easily resolved like this (after seeing Caspian and Stars Daughter together):
Lucy ( to Edmund) What about Susan?
Edmudn: Do you really she'll care any more? She's beginning to sound more and more like how Eusatce used to sound, only worse.
Lucy: But...
Edmund: C'mon, Lu, tell me you haven't noticed.
Lucy( looks downward she is hurting for her sister( bit knows Edmund is right. It's something she doesn't want to take notice of): I guess you're right.
Aslan: You're brother is right, dear one.
They turn and see he has appeared behind them.
Lucy: Oh, Aslan, must it really be this way?
Aslan: It's better for both of them this way. Susan cannot come back to him. Caspian has to move on with his own life as your sister is as well.
Lucy" But I don't like the way she is moving on, maybe if she came back to him...
Aslan: She can never come back. You know this dear one.
Lucy": But her choices...
Aslan: They are painfull, that I know. It hurts Me as well. But she must make her own choice.
Edmudn: Where will it lead her?
Aslan ( visibly saddened by this, you can see tears forming in the Lion's eyes) : I will not say. We have talked anough fo this, come, leave these two alone.
Edmudn and Lucy: Yes, Aslan..
Suddenly he vanishes.
Edmund: He always does that doesn't He?
Lucy: He isn't a tame lion, you know.
Cut to the next scene where they are all bording the ship.

( note this idea I have is meant to be more serious.)

Or it could be solved like this:

Lucy: "What about Susan?"
Caspian: "Susan who?"
Lucy: "What do you mean Susan who?"
Edmund: "Yeah, man what's the meaning of this? Did you forget already? You kissed her and hugged her and all."
Stargirl looks at Caspian with her hands on her waist. Caspian looks confused, his eyes dart from Edmund and Lucy to Stargirl and back.
Caspian: "I don't know what you guys are talking about."
Edmund: "Come on dude, you know."
Caspian: "Wait.. what? Do I know you guys?. Who are you? How did you end up here?
Caspian turns to Stargirl: "Little kids have a lot of imagination, don't they?"

BarbarianKing.. LOL!! quite amusing.. :p

and

Lava, forgive me for my mistake. :) i see your point and i understand it perfectly. you are right in saying that there's nothing we can do now.

but, for me.. hahahaha.. i don't think i can really accept the changes.. i really can't enjoy the movie for what it is. my only consolation was that i saw Reepicheep, as he is one of my favorite Narnians. :p still, i'm looking forward to VoDT and wish that it comes out as faithful to the book as it can get. :)

which is why, Artgirl09, i really agree with you.

No one is asking you too (at least no should be). Really I am very surprised that I was able too, I had a bad time with the changes they made to LWW.

hehehe.. no one is.. but still... actually, i never really finished watching LWW, i was toooooooo depressed when i got to the part where the White Witch brought edmund to see mr. tumnus.

that's true, however, with the change of directors let's just hope that the new director would be a faithful Narnian. :)

Well, Apted had better be...he was alive when the books were still being written!! And apparently he's a BIG fan...let's hope BIG means, y'know...BIG!!...LOL :D I read an interview on NarniaWeb, and by the looks of it, I think he knows what he's doing. :D I'm banking a lot of my hope on what I saw in Amazing Grace, but honestly, that movie was beautiful, so I hope he does a beautiful job w/ VDT too.

We can't forget, though, there's also a lot of weight to be put upon the screenwriter(s) too :D But I do believe Stephen Knight is AWESOME. B/c he did AG too, and I LOVED his script. The dialogue, as I can recall, never had a cliche moment, and was incredibly powerful. I hope he does as great (and even better) of a job than he did w/ that movie.

Anyhoo, they start filming in September!!!!!!

And as for Caspian/Stargirl...while I was at the Kennedy Space Center a few days ago, I kept getting preoccupied w/ the whole star subject...lol...it didn't help that they had this huge sphere-thing outside that had all the constellations on it b/c then I kept looking at it, constantly trying to come up w/ names for Stargirl (for a fanfic). And then, I realized that J.K. Rowling must've named Bellatrix after a star, and I remembered that Sirius was named after a constellation, and then I noticed that Phillip Pullman of all people must've named Lyra after the Lyre constellation. *deepbreath* Oh, and I MET PRINCE CASPIAN.

No, not the "real" one! The dude in Disney World! Yes, he's in Disney World. He signed my autograph book and everything. XD

I will never again have high expectations for anything coming out of Disney. I never had before, and I never liked anything Disney. I gave them a chance with Narnia but they deeply disappointed with only two tries. Never again. Now I am glad that I don't even go to their parks or buy their movies. I live so close to Disneyland that if I walk to it, I will be at the main gate in 10 minutes or less, BUT, I have only been there once in the last 20 years, and only because it was free! I don't know what was I thinking for believing that with Narnia, for once they will do something good. Good bye VODT and Stargirl!
If I follow Lava's reasoning about stars, I would name Ramandu's daugher Andromeda cause somehow I don't think Betelgeuse will catch on.

I love Disney. Mickey and Minnie and Peter Pan and Tink and of course Ariel and Sebastian -- I love Disneyland and Disneyworld and I would love to see Euro Disney and Tokyo Disney...I am goin gto go start a Disney thread. Cuz I have nothing to say about StarGirl. Except, I trust Michael Apted. I do.

ANd calling her Beetlejuice ( the other name for Betelguese at least among small choldren) could result in a lawsuit by Tim Burton.

And lets face it Caspian saying, " I love you Betelguese" or "I love you Beetlejuice." Plus what would his pet name for her be?

I have to agree w/ inkspot...I love Disney...b/c...well, let's just say, as Walt himself did, "I only hope we don't lose sight of one thing--that it was all started by a mouse." And that mouse has been my inspiration for so many years that I can't turn back on him now. Especially since denying stuff like 'The Lion King', 'The Little Mermaid', 'Aladdin', 'Mulan', 'Cinderella', 'Beauty and the Beast', etc, would be a complete atrocity and would annihilate much of my childhood development.

And I do trust Michael Apted too. Very much. And let's not forget screenwriter Stephen Knight...

Anyhoo, back to topic--

LOL :D Too true. After spending 2 days at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida (after a...ahem...Disney...cruise...heheh), I was so reminded of "star" stuff that I completely confounded myself trying to think up names for R's Daughter. There was this huge spherical fountain-thing at the space center w/ the constellations on it, and I saw "Lyra" (the Lyre) on there, and I was like, "OOOH!" And then I remembered Phillip Pullman and realized that that wouldn't work. And then there was something called "Tarazad", but that was too weird for her, and something suspiciously close to "Elendil". But in the end, I had to search for something else...so I thought, "Oh, the Aurora Borealis; she could be named Aurora". But then I figured that that would be such an obvious name choice, so then I thought I could combine the names of different stars/moons/nebulae/etc. to create her name. I wanted to keep part of "Aurora" in there, b/c it means "goddess of the dawn", and that makes sense for R's daughter, since, in a way, she is, since they're so close to the Eastern edge of the world. East equaling dawn. And, scientifically, the auroras we see in the northern and southernmost skies are a result of charged particles that enter the earth's atmosphere via solar flares from the sun. So, the auroras come from the sun, which is a star, as does R's Daughter comes from a star, her father. Anyhoo, the best thing I've come up w/ so far is Aurorealis. I dunno if that's any good, but trust me, some of my other ones were terrible. Anyhoo, it doesn't really matter anyway; the only reason I was trying so hard to come up w/ a name was b/c I'm writing a fanfic about her and Caspian, and I want her to have a name.

LOL I write too much

Yeah, maybe that's better. "Aurorealis" wasn't my final choice, anyhoo. But it was better than the rest of the stuff I came up with  *sigh* I have to think it over more. One would think the writing of the fic itself is hard, but sometimes naming characters is the hardest part! :D

I think they should have her get on the ship. There is no way they can make a belivable romance, when Caspian is on the Island for only a day. So expect a lot of their love to be on the dawn treader. Seeing this is a Disney film, it may be something a little cliched. I can belive them filming Caspian teaching Ramandu's Daughter how to use a sword and them giving each other romantic glances while doing so.

Do you think Apted will turn Ramandu's Daughter into a warrior princess, the same way Adamson turned Susan into a warrior princess.

i just have to say, whoever they pick to play Ramandu's daughter is going to be lucky woman.
One word - Ben Barnes. [is that two or one? ahha o_0]

i hope not. i've always imagined ramandu's daughter as a regal, stately, ethereal lady, not a warrior princess at all. i don't even want to imagine a name for her...
