What is "I'm norwgian" in dutch? and how do you write the netherlands/holland in dutch? i like pronoucing a country the original way! :D for example: it's Italia not Itlay!! (we say italia in norwgian anyway....)

:D

I'm norwegian = Ik ben een Noor.
the Netherlands=Nederland (yes really without de or het)
holland=Holland
I'm not (coming) from the Netherlands=Ik kom niet uit Nederland
I'm not (coming) from holland=Ik kom niet uit Holland
I'm speaking (the) dutch (language) very well=Ik spreek erg goed Nederlands.

You'll need that last sentence!!! :D

bet never call the netherlands "Holland" or something, Holland is just a part of The Netherlands, and when you don't live in that part (like me:D) you don't want your country to be called "Holland"
so don't you dare...! :D

we say Italië in The Netherlands, i suppose that's something between Italy and Italia.

I personally don't care if they say Holland or The Netherlands. Most people (most dutch also) say Holland and the Netherlands. I also say often to my friends who live outside The Netherlands, Holland.

NO, you cannot be serious. everytime someone says that i think: if they don't want to say "the netherlands" then say "gelderland:D"
it is much better;)

I want to learn Dutch. Is it a hard language to learn??
well, a bit, the words aren't that hard, the pronoucation is a little bit (the letter "G" is hard for anyone not-dutch) but the grammar is really hard. it just doesn't make sense, all our verbs and stuff

but it's a nice little village, and maybe i'm going to move to Veenendaal (not really big, but at least something better)

Lol, yeah. Something bigger:p My city is the 5th biggest, but anyway it's super SMALL. The third biggest city in Australia is three times bigger than our capital!! So yeah...pretty smaaall... :p

Hey: this is a Dutch thread, try to speak DUTCH here!!!

And Holland is much better and much easier than The Netherlands Lieke.

So just call the Netherlands HOLLAND everyone .

The name of my sister is Lieke.

By the way: I really thought that by Holland was meant just the Netherlands!!!

NO, please :( you can't do that to me (well it doesn't bother me that much:D)

say hi to her from me, it's a great name (at least that's what my parents were thinking when they named me like that)

if someone says Holland they mean the whole Netherlands, but it's just the idea. Holland is the old name, when that was the place were everything was happening (17th century i think), but i live in Gelderland so i prefer The Netherlands, but whatever, everyone is going to say Holland anyway and i know what you mean, so there isn't a big problem or something :D

Stelletje kaaskopjes! Hoe durven jullie nederlands te praten? :D
Geintje!
Oh boy, it is still too cold
Oh jongens, het is nog steeds koud
I had to scratch the frost of my windows
Ik heb net mijn ruiten moeten krabben
It is still freezing
Het vriest nog steeds
I am tired
Ik ben moe
And it is just early in the morning
En het is heel vroeg in de morgen.

YAY, there are 5 dutch persons over here now:D
it is very unlogical, but for us (at least for me) it is just easy, but for non-dutchguys it is a hard language to learn.
they probably speak some dutch in england, but i don't think that it is very much. only in some familys maybe.
anyway, i live in the big village (?) Scherpenzeel:D (niet in friesland maar in gelderland, om misverstanden te voorkomen)

I live in the biggest capital in the world....Middelburg in Zeeland *rolls over the floor laughing*
I was born in The Hague (Den Haag) but I live in Zeeland since I was 4 years old. But I don't feel Zeeuws. Lieke, a very good friend of mine lives in Nijmegen and my brother lives in Arnhem.
