........ We borrow from other languages without modifying them all the time. Almost as often as we borrow from other languages and modify them arbitrarily.
 
Now, now. The English have high standards. They've only let themselves be invaded by the Romans and the Germans and the Danish and the French. The Greeks only influenced the language because Homer was good at writing about invasions.

Well, if America counts as a country with low standards, nobody.

If you're thinking of other countries with low standards, you'll have to name them before we can determine which races are likely to want their land and most of their money.
 
I have very little sympathy for journalists. And they will probably find a way to write whatever they wanted me to say anyway, whether I make a statement or not.
 
That write-up looks suspiciously like it came from a tabloid, not a newspaper. Unless the newspaper was The Daily Prophet, which doesn't seem to operate according to the proper journalistic standard of being stylistically bland.
 
I agree. I'm told her detective novels were a step in the right direction, but she keeps updating the Pottermore website. It's deeply concerning.
