French

Hey guys!
Gotta work for my exams next week (english, sciences, physics, spanish, math and geography...), and an oral exam (TPE, ouais, génial, se faire chier pendant un an pour rien!). No job yet, no more news about the trip my friends wanna make next year, my grandma's still as insane as ever, and my grandpa got to stop drinking alcohol, otherwise he would die (to complicated to explain all that in english). Well, not a very good week. Hopefully, some guys r ther 2 help me think there's not only bad news. In a year and a half, i would be in England, then in Scotland!!!!! It's been 3 years i'm waiting 4 that!!!!!!! And mayB my cat's gonna have kittens soon (we aren't sure, but she's been putting on some weight lately)!!!

J'mappele Robert, et that's about all the French I know (that would apply here).

I started trying to teach myself French last week, as I realised I can use the French audio tracks on DVDs to pick up some phrases. I also have some language-learning software on my PC, and I've checked out some materials on French from a local library.

The one French phrase I know by heart:
"Parlezvouz anglais?"

lol, this is how i used 2 learn english (and by using songs, internet, books just like Harry Potter and stuff like that). English classes are so boring, i feel like time is very long, 1 minutes is just like an hour with my teacher. So that makes 55 hours of english per day, and at least 110 today. Yeah, i have taken english as a speciality, so i have around 7 hours of english each week. Add to that the time i spend on the forum, on msn talking with some english people, and 2 weeks in Poland speaking only english coz it was the only language i had in common with the others... Can't even think in french by now. Even did my homework, and the day after i found out it was totally written in english!!!!! Hopefully, my teachers didn't notice that, but my friends did. Now, they're always asking me if i'm sure i did it in french... That's scarying 4 them, but, not 4 me. Wanna take english at uni and leave France 2 England after that (my friends think it's totally suicidal, but they didn't understand i'm already dead... Long story).

Lol, now ya know how i felt when it was my first year of english. I hated that. Well, seems that u learn faster by ur own than with a teacher. Personnally i had 8 years of english classes : the 3 firsts were horrible, i hated that. The year after, seemed i had some facilities, and i began 2 like that. The fourth, i liked that. The 5th, didn't do anything useful, i was in advance, just like another pal, but it was easier 4 him, coz his sis was living near 2 Leeds, lol. The 6th was okay, it was my second best teacher, and she wasn't offended when i said i was bored during her classes. The 7th, well, it was my worst, coz i've repeated my year 11. Try 2 work in a subject in which u already know nearly everything with a teacher u hate... I had 17.5/20 at the beginning and at the end of the year. Now, i have to work, read a lot of english books, translating... worst of that, each time there's a translation, i know my teacher will ask me to do it.
Believe me or not, the only time i've opened my book, it was (not only 2 do my homework, i have 2 say it) for an oral exam. Learned practically everything i know on internet.
And i have 2 say : there is no dictionnary near to me, it's in my bedroom, and i am downstairs, lol.
 
now i know y i feel like i've lost time at school...
School system in France sucks!!!!! We have a lot of classes, but one of the worst results in Europe. And lots of srikes (especially with the CPE by now).

It happens that I'm taking French lessons, 3 months by now but I want to learn more because those are once a week. Do you think that playing movies in french (instead of its original language) helps?

I learned English by reading in English and seeing movies without subtitles. I've taken English classes since I was 3 years old, but that didn't help me so much. But I don't know if it would work with French just as it worked with English.

That's what I'm doing, and it seems to help! However, I've just gone back to school from break, so I don't have any free time to teach myself.

ben, ptetre pas maintenant, v me fR engueuler, chuis connectée depuis une heure, lol.
Ptetre mercredi prochain, c l'anniv' à HB, on pourra se foutre un pe de sa gueule (allez, 17 vannes pr feter le coup).
