She laid her head on his " Dan I'm sorry I yelled at you like that I-I didn't me to I was just hoping to have someone come with me other then my brother or my mum and dad coming," she told him.

What Tom Stetzer said to Mrs. Katon was not a lie, for it was something he and Isobel had really discussed. It just was a matter of not pushing the touchiest issues to the front.

"Good evening, Mrs. Katon. Before I say who I am, you need to know that I don't want one cent of your money! I'm Pastor Stetzer from Redemption Free Church, and this is my wife Isobel. We're close friends of the dentist you go to, Eric Havens, whose son Alipang is a friend of Jason's. We're sponsoring some children's activities at the lakeside Labor Day festival. We were wondering whether Jason or Kaitlyn might be willing to volunteer there, such as by running a face-painting booth or overseeing the inflated moon-walk chamber?"

Mrs. and Mr. Katon looked at each other. "Well, Jason DOES have a pretty good hand at painting." Mrs. Katon couldn't resist bragging.
"MOM!!!" Jason's voice could be heard from the stairs. Mr. Katon smiled.
"Yes, our son would be more than willing to help out. As for Kaitlyn, I'd have to ask her if she has anything planned."

"All volunteers will be treated to a free lunch, at OUR expense, at the Pansit Paradise, tomorrow," said Tom. "Some volunteers are already recruited, of course; but this lunch will give new additions a chance to get in the loop."

"Some of the children we will serve," put in Isobel Stetzer, "will be special-needs children. We'll have Special Olympics-style footraces, in three age categories; and we'll need 'hugger-guides' for the racers. It's a simple job to do, but a needed one, to make it a happy day for those dear, dear little lambs."

"Well, count Jason in." Mrs. Katon volunteered her son. "Hang on..." Mrs. Katon ran over to the stairs. "Kaitlyyyyyn!" she yelled. Jason sat in front of her, eyes hard.
"How could you volunteer me, Mom? I have plans!" He complained. Mrs. Katon gave her son a sarcastic expression.
"If your plans include smoking and drinking and Lord knows what else, than consider it a convenient grounding time."
"Besides, I draw anime, I don't paint!" Jason added. Mrs. Katon wasn't paying attention to her son anymore. Kaitlyn appeared at the top of the stairs.
"Yeah Mom?" She yelled down. Her mother briefly explained the opportunity.
"I guess I could. I don't have anything better to do." Kaitlyn said slowly. She was wondering why she was so excited about it.
Mrs. Katon hurried back to the door.
"Okay Pastor, they're both recruited!" She said, enthusiastically.

" All right be right back with your soup!," she told him, walking out to her car. she pulled out her side kick to call her brother.
