Closing His eyes, Grant began to sing.

You found us broken and in shame
Living like vagabonds
Not worthy to see Your face
Chasing worldly riches
That in the end will pass away
So caught up in our sin
With only ourselves to blame

You poured out Your grace on us Lord
You poured out Your grace on us
You've given us more than we deserve Lord
Much more than we deserve

Now with less pain and sorrow
We find safety in Your cross
With hope of a brighter tomorrow
To spread Your wonderful love
To fill the hearts that are hollow
And share Your amazing grace
For it's Your will that we will follow

It's Your grace that has set us free
In Your grace is where we want to be

After Grant was done, he sat there with his eyes still closed and a smile on his face.

She pulled out some papers " Here you go a song I wrote for you," she told him, with a smile, placing her head back on his chest.

OOC: No, Chilena is NOT in any danger of having a relapse of the sickness she and Dan both caught; right now, her blood is full of antibodies against it.

Numerous kids reacted very supportively to Erin's explanation of her plan. Alipang, for his part, told her, "That's wicked cool, Erin. Back in Luzon, I used to catch snakes. I caught them to kill, cook and eat; but I can see one as a pet. I imagine--" (here he looked at Tom and Isobel Stetzer, who were looking on alongside Shavonda the worship leader) "--that Pastor Tom wanted us to know about this now, so we can all help folks at the picnic NOT to get in a panic about Erin's boa."

"You got it, Al," the pastor assured him.

At Summer's house, Summer had cause for delight as her father made the concentrated effort to clap his hands when Grant's first song was completed.

She laughed " I wrote one for my brother to I mostly worte songs about my close friends and you and my brother are Jen well I'm not sure what I write for her," she told him, playing with his thumb

Isobel Stetzer, the Redemption Church pastor's wife, drew near to Erin. "I read a lot when I have time, in many genres. Would your mother happen to be a detective-story writer?"

Leaning closer, the beautiful African-American lady, whose loving marriage to a white husband played its part in making Redemption Church popular, said to Erin with a conspiratorial tone, "You can tell me: who's the real murderer in the new novel?"

Erin grinned mischievously at Isobel, "now that would be telling, wouldn't it? You'll never guess, and my mother does keep her readers guessing until the last chapter!"

Tom Stetzer joined his wife to say to Erin, "Are there any special requirements you have for handling your legless friend in a crowded public place?"

Otherwise, things were settling into more eating and less talking; assignments were well worked out. Alipang wasn't getting much ot of Jason, so he resignedly texted Chilena:

"No, Pastor Tom, I'll just have Sky's carrier and that should be about it. Thank you so much for allowing me to do this for the kids. It'll be great!" Erin exclaimed.

Erin then sidled over to where Alipang was nonchalantly standing by himself. "So, Alipang, Kim must be quite a special person to you," she teased him knowingly.

Alipang was not startled to hear his new acquaintance bring this up; he already knew that he was virtually unable to hide from anyone his fascination with that breathtaking beauty--who increasingly showed signs of INNER beauty besides. So he sighed and said quietly to Erin, "The question of WHETHER she will EVER be something to me is up to God and Kim, in that order. It's been good to meet you, and I'll be glad to talk with you another time; but right now another special girl, my sister, is on her way over here."
