ic: "Sure". He grabbed on to her hand, but decided to play one of the oldest tricks in the book. He pulled her down, and just..tickled her. mercilessly. :p

ooc: i am scared of people tickling me. seriously. i am so ticklish its not even funny.

ic: Jen began giggling hysterically. "Stop! Stop!" she managed to say between laughs.

ooc: it may sound ridiculous, but I've trained myself to not be ticklish. I am seriously not-physically ticklish. Which is the complete opposite of what I used to be when I was younger.

ic: After a teeny bit longer, he showed her mercy and stopped. And just laid there, looking up at the sky.

ooc: I'm done. I'll talk to you all tomorrow, I'm so tired.

ic: Jen giggled a few times more and then rolled over to stare up at the clouds.

The petty gangster Robby Lang was indeed packing heat; but he had seen no need to shoot Alipang; it wasn't as if the Filipino kid was catching him in a crime just by Robby's being in a strip-mall parking lot. So, less than two hours later, he failed to spot the surveillance of him which was beginning to be performed by plainclothes police officers. THEY, however, spotted HIM that night, leading a vandalism-and-graffiti spree in Shilohsville; so Robby Lang found himself in the slammer with Icewolf, and out of this story just like Icewolf.

Meanwhile Erin has accepted an invitation to go walking with the pastor and his wife (in a nearby park) so they can get to know their "snake friend" better

Erin walked beside the friendly pastor and his lovely wife. "Well, me being relatively new to the area, could you tell me more about your church and what you do?"

"One thing we do," said Pastor Tom, "is to prevent anyone from falling through the cracks. By that I mean that in this town we have Baptists and Catholics who, to the extent that they hold their own doctrines seriously, are in fierce disagreement with each other. But there are plenty of people who are open to JESUS CHRIST without feeling totally aligned with either Thomas Aquinas or John Calvin. We're here for them.

"Anyone these days can say, 'We're tolerant, we welcome everyone.' But many churches achieve this broad welcome by DISCARDING any specifics about the faith, in order not to confront anyone about anything. THAT'S not us. We hold firmly to our best possible understanding of the intent of God's revealed Word, and show--" (here he looked at Isobel) "--that there's a substantial tolerance for diversity that still keeps WITHIN God's teachings and standards."

"That's so cool," Erin smiled sadly, "my mother and I have been looking for that kind of church for a long time. Ever since my father died, people were falsely sympathetic, pretending that they cared about our loss, but really they only cared about debating the next creation theory with the church a few blocks away. My mother will be overjoyed. You'll have to meet her sometime."

"Tom already has his sermon ready for tomorrow," beamed Isobel, her deep, rich voice pouring over Erin like chocolate fudge. "We have some time. What if we go meet your mother--AND your boa constrictor--NOW?"

Erin grinned," that would be awesome! I drove here, my truck is the black pickup right over there, so you can follow me over there!"

They followed Erin in their own vehicle and when they arrived at Erin's house, Mrs. Conrad was very touched to have such pleasant guests in her house.

OOC: Its time for bed for me, sorry I can't post more, early church tomorrow, so I'll probably be on next tomorrow afternoon

~ ~ To "cover things" in case the RP moves too far ahead in time before L-of-God is back on:

The Stetzers were equally delighted to meet Erin's mother; Isobel pretended to sulk over Erin not giving away anything about the plot of the latest mystery novel. One thing which came up in the course of conversation was that the ministries of Redemption Free Church included mutual support groups for bereaved persons.

Tom Stetzer also offered his assistance for Monday, if Erin should wish a volunteer to hold the snake to prove it was safe. He explained that he had once held a four-foot-long alligator at a zoo. *

* This is in memory of a happy time with my now-deceased first wife Mary. We once were someplace where I held an alligator.

Chilena got them candy for them " Ok we going to see a Jackie Chin movie!," she told him, with a huge smile she love his movies.

Alipang was also a major Jackie Chan admirer. One thing he appreciated about Mr. Chan was the actor's refusal to LET his own character in any movie be totally unbeatable and invulnerable; Mr. Chan had said once in an interview that it would be disastrous if kids watching his films came away thinking that martial-arts training would make them bulletproof and immortal.

This was another area, by the way, in which Alipang had more than once been irritated by people thinking they needed to tell him something he already knew. They would tell him that his Escrima mastery didn't make him guaranteed-invincible, as if he didn't already realize this. Just because he had never been beaten in a fair and equal fight since he was ten, didn't mean he deluded himself that he COULD NOT ever lose.

"As in OUTER space?" replied Alipang, playing dumb. Then he sobered up quickly. "I don't think I have any staring-into-space topics you DON'T already know about. Mainly, in increasing order of importance: my future dentist career, my male friends, Kim Tisdale, and YOU."

"I've already made, this very morning, the most shocking disclosure you're ever likely to hear from me; so if some little thing comes up like my getting to be the Prime Minister of Thailand, I won't be shy about letting you know."

Alipang let his thumb stay in her tender grasp; otherwise, he did not initiate any physical contact whatsoever during the movie.
