" All right I'll try what I can do," he told him then turned around to Chilena" Is that all right?," he asked.

She nodded " Sure you can Mike," she told him, writing her address down for him " here you go and there's my cell number as well," she told him.

The Katons are back! Duh duh duuuuuh!

While everything else was happening; Jason and Kaitlyn went to an obscure restaurant called "Pizza Palace" (idk if it's a real restaurant or not...) with their parents after church to collect themselves.

Steve Katon: Okay, this is great. The restaurants just about empty, and now we can talk as a family.
Julie Katon: (I forgot her original name) We could have just as well eaten at home.
Steve: But the kids might not have stayed as long.

The Kids:

Jason slunk lower in his seat, fiddling with the cloth napkin. Beside him, Kaitlyn played with her fork and shot him a concerned look.

Meanwhile, a young Christian woman who worked for the local Christian radio station was preparing for tomorrow's live broadcast to be done from the lakeshore.

~ ~ THAT IS THE CHARACTER I HAVE URGED LADY CALLANDRA TO DEVELOP AND PLAY.

A silence fell on the Katon family. Steve adressed his kids. "Jason, Kaitlyn, what do you want to do with yourselves? I mean, your future?" Kaitlyn pushed a lock of hair away from her eyes.

"Did you ever even care before?" She asked quietly. Jason shot her a glare, but he silently agreed. Steve and Julie locked gazes, giving each other strength.

"The Lord has been working on my heart to support you two." Steve began. Jason ran a hand through his black hair, making it partly stand on end. After a pause, Kaitlyn opened up.
"I'd like to be a border patrol agent with the department of homeland security." She said quietly, "and work with dogs."
"That's a little...dangerous, don't you think?" Julie asked, worriedly.
"You'd have to learn Spanish." Jason told her, "you don't know any."
"How do you know that?" Steve asked his son, a little surprised. Jason shot him a frown.
"Maybe I'm smarter than I look." He snapped. His eyes fell down on the table. The waitress came over and got their orders. "I'm sorry. I'm still a little grumpy." Jason apologized.
"Withdrawal." Kaitlyn muttered. No one said anything.

"Jason, what do you want to be?" Steve asked him. Jason shrugged.
"I'd like to fly planes." He said quietly, "and fire guns, and draw anime."

Wilson Kramer, the former SEAL, suddenly was standing over Jason's chair. No one had seen or heard him entering the dining area. His young son Quinn was with him, and had entered just as silently. "Forgive me, Mr. and Mrs. Katon," said the East High security guard. "I didn't purposely eavesdrop, but I heard the parts about homeland security, flying and shooting. Kaitlyn, Jason, I can tell you quite a few things about those subjects at some suitable time, IF your parents know and approve." Then he began easing away from their table.

Cruising past on his bicycle was freshman Sammy Ashford, the African-American boy who had found the nerve to help Summer against the now-expelled bully "Leopard Man."

"Hey, Summer!" Sammy exclaimed. "How are you today? House On Rock had a good message today, how 'bout your church?" He parked his bicycle, prepared for a chat.

Summer looked up. "Hey Sammy. Church was great. I've been meaning to thank you for helping me the other day." She said smiling and making room for him on the step next to her.

"You're welcome. Any friend of Alipang is a friend of mine. Speaking of which--" (Sammy looked around as if he feared they would be spied on) "--are you and, I mean is he, I mean are you an' Alipang, you know, dating?"

Sammy lowered his voice further. "So it doesn't bother you at all the way Al's been panting over that senior girl that he has Trigonometry and Biology with?"

Aravis-Y, your posting clears the way for me to provide ANOTHER SUMMARY!

It is the afternoon before Labor Day. The troubled boy Jason Katon, and his sister Kaitlyn, find their parents anxiously trying to be better, more attentive parents. Both siblings take the opportunity to tell their parents about the adventurous futures they hope for. Speaking of siblings, Chilena's birth brother Mike seems to be _sincerely_ (unlike the birth parents) trying to relate to her as her brother. Alipang does not permit himself to be jealous of Mike; Alipang is helped in this by his own good mood. The reason for Alipang's good mood is the fact that Mrs. Tisdale has positively _encouraged_ his attentions to Kim.

Suri, the Honduran student, has learned that her beloved grandfather back in Honduras is gravely ill. She finds a listening ear for her distress in the art-loving girl Callie. Summer, the girl with a disabled father who was recently visited by first Alipang and then Grant, was last seen chatting with freshman Sammy Ashford. Brendan still is involved with Jennifer; and Kim Tisdale still is a waitress at the Pansit Paradise.

Meanwhile, Alipang was managing to force himself to get back to schoolwork. This lasted almost an hour--long enough to make substantial progress--before he started something he had never tried before in his life. On a random sheet of used paper, with sudden nervousness devastating his penmanship as it usually did, he wrote, or rather scrawled:

Kim Tidsales face has wwnderfl epxressons
Her body gose in all the rigt derections
I want her so much pleese hlep me Jesus
And mots of all dont evur let her see this

Scrambling to hide his boyish poem, Alipang replied, "No, come on in, I'm in good shape with my homework now. What's up, sweets?"

She came into his room with a smile " Oh, nothing I just want to see if I can do my homework with you," she told him, now sitting next to him.

"Sure, why not? I've got the urgent things done, but I can work ahead." He slid up next to Chilena, while thinking, So long as she doesn't see my stupid poem. Why did I write that anyway? It won't have any effect at all on whether I have any chance with Kim....

She pulled out her home work " Ok cool," she told him, grabbing one of his pens " I don't like Math," she told him with a sigh.
