OOC: Thanks. :D

IC: Summer got out of bed after being practically glued to it for the past two days. She got dressed and walked downstairs. She smiled at her mother. "Mom, I'm going for a walk." Then she went outside.

Copperfox's Extremely Difficult RP Summaries!

This time, let's go by "Where Are They Now?"

FOR ANYONE STILL IN TUESDAY EVENING: Dan and Chilena are on their second date in a total of I think 40 hours of even knowing each other at all. But Dan's openness with the Havens family has scored points for him with all of that family, even the destruction machine Alipang. Brendan, the would-be military cadet, is almost as far along with Jennifer, and has ALSO gotten on Alipang's good side; Brendan and Jen are actually eating at the "Pansit Paradise" Filipino restaurant where Al works. The chief Catholic priest at St. Timothy's, Father John Penn, also just ate there--as did a girl named Cindy who secretly has a brain tumor. (Poor Jennifer had her gym locker broken into; but the "soft on crime" principal, Mrs. Lewiston, is scarcely taking notice. Mrs. Lewiston is too busy pampering school bully "Leopard Man"--who hates Alipang, but fears him more.

Jason Katon is still flirting with the street gang in the neighboring town of Shilohsville. Foreign students are scoring two out of three: that is, Alina from Sweden and Suri from Honduras are getting to know people, but Mandy from Britain has used her invisibility cloak. Callie was feeling superior to anyone who ever fights anyone--until it was HER life that depended on someone fighting FOR her: a Navy SEALS veteran saved her from an attacking Rottweiler. Football captain Jack Torinburg has has to be warned by Coach Escobar to behave himself toward girls. And Kim Tisdale has just had a waitress job made available to her by Alipang's intercession; but Dayhawk (while finding PLENTY of time for "Malibu") isn't posting anything here to let us know how soon her character will actually show up.

Does this help?

OOC: Thanks Copperfox :D

IC: Summer walked to the Pansit Paradise. After being cooped up in the house for two days she needed to see someone who wasn't her mother so she decided to go see Alipang. She entered the Pansit Paradise and took a deep breath.

I think some are eager to be into Wednesday; probably Grant should be, so he can try dealing with that troublemaker according to his own conscience. But for Summer, we'll stay in Tuesday evening a little longer. (I had at first thought she was getting up the next morning.)

==============================

"Summer! Good to see you! Brendan and Jennifer are just finishing up, and I have tables vacant now. Can I get you something? It's good to see you on your feet."

Summer smiled. "It's good to be on my feet." She coughed. "Maybe walking home in the rain Saturday wasn't such a good idea. I would love something to eat. Nothing spicy though."

"How about a plain chicken-and-vegetable noodle dish? That can be ready in a flash."

================

OOC: Are Summer and Alipang close friends on your view? Note that they cannot be _lifelong_ friends, because Alipang was still in the Philippines till he was 11 years old.

"That sounds great." Summer replied coughing again.

OOC: I was thinking that they went to the same church and therefore knew each other from church.

Tending to Summer gave Alipang a legitimate excuse not to speak to Grant too quickly. Let Grant decide first if he were still in a mood to scold Alipang for protecting him this morning.

"Summer, you don't sound as good as you look, though of course you always look fine. Here, please take these. They seem to do me good." He handed her a package of Hall's Defense Lozenges. [Product placement, because Copperfox uses them in real life; they include Vitamin C.]

"I'll be with you in a second, Grant."

Placing the order for Summer in the kitchen, Alipang said to Mr. Imada, "I'm going to pay for this for her out of my pocket. But please tell Summer it's 'on the house;' I don't want Summer to think I'm trying to be her boyfriend."

Coming back out into the dining area: "Now, more properly, hello, Grant. You okay tonight?"

EDIT: We'll assume that the part about Grant reading in the next post happens before Alipang greets him; thus Grant is NOT snubbing his friend.

Grant seemed to be exhausted, but he knew that he had to get his homework done. Opening his bag he pulled out his Chemistry book, and opened it, and...began to read.

Sorry, Hannah, the calling part didn't register with me.
===============================================

Too late, Alipang realized that his cellphone was receiving a call. He had it on silent-vibrate. Trying to do four things at once, he checked on the one complete family he still had under his care...looked to see if Grant was going to say anything...checked the call number and return-dialed Chilena...and sat in Summer's booth with her and put a brotherly arm around her. "Summer, honey, do you want someone to drive you home? We can send your food home with you; Mr. Imada said it would be on the house for you."

As soon as there was a sign of his outgoing call being answered, Alipang said into the phone, "Chil? Please tell Summer she needs to go home and back to bed."
