Hopes for VDT....for people anticipating the release on DECEMBER 10 2010

i'm looking forward to seeing this movie

i'm looking forward to seeing VODT in theaters this next year i hope it sticks to the book or at least sticks to half of the book it depends on what kind of adaptions will be in the movie and what kind of adaptions

Hey, nobody thinks it's bragging if you're telling that you got to meet someone famous...I personally am very envious. ;)

lol well thats ok then.. :) im just stoked i actualy saw doug gresham....i didnt get to say much more than hello to him it was realy busy and he was doing stuff on the set but to actualy stand next to the step son of c.s. lewis is quite somthing... :p

So, if anyone has been on NW in the past couple of hours you will know that some interesting stories have hit the news there.

The first one was an interview with Eustace (Will) that demonstrated that he, at least, understands Eustace's character.

The other was more exciting (and more recent): it describes some of the sets (confirming that the "Italian-looking village" to use his terms was indeed Narrowhaven, not that that was in doubt) and also DT sets; the story also includes an approximately 5 minute long interview with Ernie Malik where he talks about the sets. The Interview also included a question about what they had left to film: Ernie says that mainly what they have left is "two big action sequences," a sequence about the storm AND a sequence about the SEA SERPENT. Also, he talked about a beautiful place where they filmed the emotional ending of the movie (hopefully they did it right).

With these two stories, I feel a little better about this movie. They are going to actually have these two sequences from the book which served as catalysts to two of the Island scenes. Will understands his character. I am a little more skeptical about the last thing I mentioned, but in all it gave me reason to be optimistic.

Sounds very promising! Too bad we still have over a year to wait! But I am glad for the December release; another summer release would really be bad.

haha.......mid year would be bad but thats a winter release for me....december is summer.......but yeah a boxing day release like the lww would be good

Other than perhaps "The Last Battle", "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" is probably the most spiritual of the series. To fail in showing this would be a disaster. Voyage isn't meant to be a secular book and it shouldn't be a secular film either. To leave out the importance of all of Aslan's appearances would be a fatal blow to the film series. In the book, Aslan is THE key character in it and shows up several times and not always as the Lion. I just hope they can keep the film as close to the book as possible.

The wait is getting to me. (lol) It's not even December this year and realizing when December hits this year, I still have another year to wait. :( Yes, I know it's something to look forward to. ;)

It would've come out in May if Disney hadn't decided to drop the movies!

No, I hated the May release for PC! It was so stupid! December is a MUCH better time to release a fantasy movie, when everyone is in a magicl mood.

I can't wait! Although it is stilla year away, that's hard.

I agree that December is nice because of all the magic of Christmas, but I really liked the May date because my birthday is in May and it would have been a great birthday present.:) I have to admit that I'm glad Disney is out because I think that now they will keep in more of the deeper meanings that are in the book.

Welcome Lucy@heart, I didn't see you post before! :)

I have a December birthday, so that's one reason I prefer the December release date! It's always my birthday party to go to dinner and the movie. :) In May I was out of the country and had to wait about forever to see PC :(

Welcome to TDL, Lucy@Heart, and i agree with the release date in December because of "the magic of Christmas" as you had said it.

It would also be cool if the movie would be released in the Summer since, in the VDT, we would be seeing mostly sea, ships, and islands(of course people and other things but i'm just saying the settings). When I think about Summer, I usually think about the beach and things related to that.
so, I'm just saying that it would be interesting if the release was in the summer, but I enjoy the date where it is now(Hopefully they don't change the date until July like Warner Brothers did with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince)

(just saying what's in my mind, because if I talk about this with my friends, they'll tell me to stop talking:D)
