Just as the reached the top of the hill, Susans eyes landed on something glistening in the distant. She gasped, as Jiplin came to stand beside her.
"Is that... is that it?" He questioned. Slowly, Susan nodded her head.
In front of them, not a mile away, stood a sleek and slender icicle castle. On either side stood two tall towers, shimmering in the sun, yet not melting, and in the middle stood a large iron gate. As if by instinct, Susan quietly knelt down behind a rock, she felt some unwanted presence. she motioned for the others to do as she did, as they met up with her at the top.
"What is it mylady?" Jiplin asked concernedly.
"Someones watching us." she whispered.
"Stand on guard." Jiplin commanded of the other three dwarfs. For hours they stayed stationed there, without any signs of life entering or leaving the castle. Susan began to doze off, when suddenly she was awakened by Jiplin.
"We shall be departing now, my lady." He said, reaching out his hand to help her up, with much effort seeing as he was much smaller than the former. With a slight heave, she was standing upright again. Dusting herself off, they began to make for the path down the hill. The desent down, was certainly not as tough as going uphill, and all were thankful to be safely at the bottom soon, or so they thought.
There was rustling in the trees, and Susan tensed up, grasping her bow tightly. Jiplin froze, and motioned to the others to arm themselves. Someone was coming. Before a moments notice, they were surrounded by no more than a dozen wolves, all snarling barking at the troop.
Susans heart sped faster than imaginable, and before a word was said she was stringing an arrow. Jiplin, noticed her restlessness, and held up his hand motioning for an attack. Gnashing teeth, bows, and flashing swords flew in all directions. Susan robotically strung arrows and shot them frantically, she knew they were outnumbered and the odds were not on their side.
"Queen Susan! Behind you!!" Jiplin's voice rung out. Susan whipped around only to see a giant mass of fur hurtling towards her, and then darkness.
