The Fog:
At twilight, near the hill tops, a deep fog crept in. The tree line was no longer visible, and the camp barley light. Patrolling around the tee line, the two soldiers conversed. "Man this fog sure is thick, I can barley see a thing" said the Soldier. "Yeah, It's quite thick almost like smoke" replied the Other Solider. As the two soldiers stopped and continued to talk, a quite thump echoed in the air. Pausing the Soldier said "Did you hear that?". "Did I hear what" asked the Other Soldier. "That thumping sound, almost like drum". "No sir, I didn't hear anything" replied the Other Solider. "Hmf, must have been nothing.." said the Soldier.
Riding out of the fog silently, was mounted figure approaching the two soldiers. Creeping towards then like serpent, the black rider raised his blade. Turing the two soldiers caught eye of the rider, but it was too late the Black rider struck the nearest soldier across the head, killing him instantly. The remaining solider began to run towards the came, to warn the others, but before he could reach the bell tower he was struck by several arrows. Emerging from the fog was large group of riders all clothed in black. They looked like lifeless shadows crept across the valley. Silently they crept towards the mountain range, by passing most of the guard units in the fog.
Climbing the step rocks trails they came to the camp's rear, where they would begin there strike. Swarming around the camp, they made a circle. There shadows overcastted the camp, blocking most of the camp fires light. Drawing the black blades they dis-mounted and charged into the camp, Slicing and smashing, they cut threw most of the camp, tearing anything in there path to pieces. It wasn't until the Black Commander shouted, that the Shadow riders realized that there was no one in the camp. Suddenly they noticed that there was burning arrows pointed at them from all sides. And with shriek the Shadows engaged the burning lights around them.
With a command the arrows were fired, spreading across the camp like stars in the sky. several of the Black shadows caught fire and fell to the ground. Other continued forward holding there blades above there heads. Emerging from the shadows of the mountain Sir Godfrey and sever knights engaged the enemy. Steel after steel clashed, as the Knights pressed in to the Shadow's ranks. Thrusting into one of Shadow Rider's Sir Godfrey shouted to his commander "Bulk up, force them back". The Commander did as he was ordered, rallying some troops towards Godfrey's position. Using there shields, the Knights made a wall between them and the enemy. With a command Godfrey said "Now!" and several of the knights lifted there shields and struck the shadows with there swords. Loud shrieks fallowed as the Knights continued pressing threw the Shadows flanks.
At last Godfrey ordered the breaking of their formation, and order them to charge. The mass of knights charging into the enemy, looked like the shining steel of a blade. Cutting through there ranks, the Knights surrounded the remaining Shadow riders, and prepared to end it. Calling for the knights to hold, Godfrey said "Wait, leave them be". The knights lowered there swords and moved out of the way. At present there were only ten Shadow Riders left, the rest were either dead or on there way there. Looking at the closest Shadow' at eye level Sir Godfrey asked "You are servants of Mizar are you not?". The shadow in a ruff voice replied "Yes, we are servants of the Dark Lord Mizar, Lord of Narnia". Godfrey starring intensely at the Shadow rider said "I have spared you, so that you can take a message back to your master". "Tell him War has come, and that Narnia is the land of the free peoples and that the rightful King will soon take back his throne."
Godfrey then turned and began walking away. But before he had taking ten steps he turned and said "Oh and tell you master, that a Sir Godfrey is looking forward to seeing him im upcoming battle." With a smile Godfrey walked away. The then Shadow Riders were escorted to the main plains were, two were released and the rest were killed. Riding swiftly, the two Black Riders fallowed the trail back to Cair Paraval.
