ic: "Arrr... If ye be doin' anythin' like that ter Pierre, matey, I'm goin' ter come over thar an' tie a sack full o' gunpowder ter yer belt, set it on fire an' watch ye run around for a few seconds... 'twouldn't nearly be hours before we had a bit o' an explosion..." :D
"Arr...but can ye imagine pierre with powdery white fur? Arr, I can't even remember what the ol' cats fur even looks like! T'was black, yes? No, brown...err...orange?" IOWW was lost in thought. :D

Fyn came up to the deck with a mop and a bucket. "There is one thing about being a pirate..." she said to herself. "If you want to get anything done you have to do it yourself." And she ducked the mop in the bucket and started scrubbing the deck, still amazed at how filthy it really was.

ooc: I'm back! Doesn't look like anything much has happened while I was away. I picked the right month to take a vacation, huh? :p

*THUD* "Hey, whazzamarrer? Cancha let a guy get some sleep around here?"
"Time to get up, sleepyhead," Fyn told him severely.
"Okay, whatever..." Azgar stood up and made his way toward the stairs.

ooc: Somebody needs to think of something to do...

ic: Twilight leaned over the side of ship and brought up a bucket full of water. For once, her hair was not in its accustomed multi braid style. She had also rolled up the sleeves on her beat up white pirate shirt and her pants were rolled up past her knees, her red bandanna was tucked into a back pocket. The sea was calmer today and having checked every cannon, powderkeg and cannon ball twice, and shaken her fist in the direction of the ship bearing Fish and Machia so often that their convelesant Capn' had told her off to do something else, she had taken advantage of a short period of inactivity to wash her hair. It fell now, down to her waist in a huge mass of brown waves and curls, streaked with black from the gunpowder she was constantly around. Twilight brought the bucket over the side of the ship and poured it over her head, letting it turn her dark brown hair black and then dark, dark gold in the sunlight. She grabbed a cake of softer soap from the barrel in front of her and worked it into her hair till it was all sudsy and then hauled another bucket over the side and wet her hair again, and again till all the suds hit the deck.

Shaking her head almost like a dog, or perhaps more like a tree in a violent wind, Twilight wrung out her long brown hair and reached for her carefully hoarded brush. Working slowly, she brushed and braided her hair into almost innumerable braids. Then, hauling yet another bucket up from the side she mixed up soapy water and worked her bandanna around in the bucket until it turned black with the gunpowder that had soaked into it. Finally she finished and lay her bandanna on a handy barrel to dry in the sun.

Betancourt, the assistant carpenter gave Twilight a rather odd look as he went by, any kind of act of pirate hygiene had been put on hold for the sea battles for so long that the spectacle of the Master Gunner washing her hair was an interesting sight. However, after her short rest, Twilight's hair sparkled and seemed to grow in the sun, as if somehow she could control it, as if she felt that the pirates were getting closer to Machia and Fish, and when they found them, it might bring them all a bit closer to one of Twilight's homeworlds, the land of Narnia...

ooc: Sorry that was so long. I miss writing descriptive ramblings on the pirates thread. Someone can come and talk to me though, that would be more awesome. I must go to bed now. Nighty night, God bless all!

Aravis squinted her eyes as an image slowly appeared before her. She tried raising herself to so that she could sit down but was too weak to even lift an arm. "What's happened to me," she grunted.

"Oh Captain! You were injured in battle!" a bubbly voice said.

"Ugh I'm not in the mood for that tone of voice can you please bring me something warm to drink? It's cold in here! And where am I? Who Are y-" the Captain kept on asking questions but before she could finish she felt a wave of sleep come over her. Before closing her eyes again she saw what she though was an image of Twilight. Except this Twilight looked slightly different. Perhaps a bit clean. Aravis tried to keep hold of that last image of Twilight as she was wisked away by sleep. She found herself yet again at the gates of dream world ready to enter it.

Saruman entered the brig again. "My dear pirates," he said sweetly, "how are you feeling this fine afternoon?" He was referring, of course, to the fact that Fish and Machia had eaten his undoubtedly tainted food. They knew it, and he knew it.

Machia's head was swimming, but he tried to clear his thoughts, "Never better, wizard," he tried to say sarcastically, but his words just came out passive and slurred.

The wizard smiled. "And you, dear Fish?" Fish, like Machia, felt as if she was in a dream. She wanted to say something, but no words seemed to make sense in her head. "We're both fine," Machia said suddenly, this time with much more force in his voice.

Saruman seemed taken aback, but he quickly composed himself and smiled again. He muttered some words under his breath, and Fish and Machia felt as if a fog was lifted. "Now then," the wizard said, "you will tell me everything you know about Narnia. Starting with how to get there."

"We don't know how to get there!" Fish cried earnestly. A second later, she put her hand over her mouth. She hadn't thought of what to say, and ye the words came out. She glanced at Machia, but he was transfixed by Saruman.

"But surely you must know. How did you come to Narnia the first time?"

"The Be--" Machia started. He seemed to be battling himself. "No! I won't tell you!" He held his head in his hands, gripping his hair tightly.

"Machia, how did you come to Narnia in the first place?!" The wizard commanded Machia to tell him.

"The Bermuda Triangle." Machia said sullenly. "We were just sailing. We had just pillaged a town, and we were heading to the next. We decided to short-cut through the Bermuda Triangle..." his voice trailed off.

Fish continued. "Everthing when dark. Like... like a fog, though heavier than a fog has ever been." She shuddered and paused for a moment. "I don't know if we all went unconscious or stayed awake. I don't know if seconds or hours passed. But the fog cleared, and when we tried to take our bearings, nothing seemed to work. We recognized nothing. But the land was beautiful, and a warm, calming breeze took away our fears. No. It wasn't the breeze that stilled me. It was the voice in my ear. The deep voice that seemed to come from nowhere, be all around, and yet... and yet be only loud enough that I could hear it. It was at that moment that I forgot everything about Earth. I could recollect vague thoughts, but I didn't even have a desire to think about my life before this strange land. And now, now earth is the strange land... Now all I can think of is...get...." Fish tried to continue, but her voice choked. She sank back down and became very reserved.

Machia looked at her. "is getting back to Narnia." He finished definitively.

Before the wizard could respond, the ship lurched violently to one side. "Those fools!" Saruman cursed under his breath. "They've gone and hit the reef!" He quickly made his way out of the brig.

Fish and Machia sat in silence, thoroughly exhausted. The ship lurched again, and caught off guard, they were thrown against the cell bars. Surprisingly, they came loose. "Machia, put those back in place!" Fish shouted excitedly. "If the Wizard doesn't realize that they are loose, as soon as we have a chance, we can escape!" However, there wasn't much cause to fix the bars. The ship hit something again, and this time, the wall of the brig was broken. However, no light flooded in. It took the pirates a moment to realize this. "Fish...?" Machia said slowly, "did Saruman say it was in the afternoon?" Fish nodded in response. A fog began to roll into the brig.

"Let's go!" Fish said. Her head had suddenly cleared, and he made to jump out the large hole.

"Fish, are you crazy?!" Machia shouted as he stopped her. "You've no idea where land is. We'll drown!"

"Aye, because calm seas always make ships lurch from side to side." Fish said sarcastically. "Obviously, something is out there. And anything is better than on this ship. Who knows, maybe someone on the island will know where our mates are."

"I still don't like it..." Machia said.

Fish sighed and looked out the hole. Through the fog she could see a tiny beacon, and it appeared to be halfway up a mountain. "Look, Machia." She pointed it out to him. "We aren't far away from land. Come on, it's now or never."

Without waiting for a response, she made to teleport to the land. It hadn't occured to her that she had ever lost that power. But seconds later, she appeared on the shore of an island.

Machia started incredulously at the place where Fish had just stood. "We can teleport?" He thought to himself. "But that can only mean..." He tried to teleport to land, too. Again, it worked.

Once on shore, the fog seemed to clear. Fish and Machia had teleported about a mile away from eachother, but using DV's, the were easily reunited.

"Machia, I recognize this!" Fish said excitedly. "This is the west coast of Galma!"

"Which means," he said, returning her excitement, "That Cair Paravel is due west! We did it... We made it back to Narnia!!!"

Fish and Machia heard a loud cry from the ship. "He must've realized we're gone!" Machia shouted. "Arr...we have to hide first. Then we'll DV a knight or ranger to come git us and take us back to the mainland."

The pair quickly took refuge in the thick forest. They ran deep into the woods and as they searched for signs of intelligent life. Finding none, they found a spring and rested beside it. "Machia..." Fish said slowly, "wasn't Galma always densely populated? Arr... Where be everybody?"

He sat up with a start. "Fish! How could we forget? All those tales of High King Peter and King Edmund and Queen Susan and Queen Lucy! They left Narnia, and when they came back, they were but a few years older, but Narnia-"

"-Had seen several decades!" She finished. "Oh no! How many years must have passed for Galma to be unpopul--" An arrow whizzed by her ear, and with a sharp thwang became lodged in the tree behind her. In a flash both she and Machia had instinctively stood up and reached for their pistols, only to remember they were unarmed.

Fish spoke cautiously, "Arr...who be there?" No response came. She went to take a step foward, but Machia stopped her.

"Arr...show yerselves," Machia said sharply. Again, no response. Fish and Machia looked at eachother, unsure of what to do. Fish was sure that the owner of the arrow could hear her heart thumping, but still she kept quiet. Finally, after what seemed like minutes, a figure emerged from the shadows.

Betancourt was whistling cheerfully as usual when he spotted Kris walking along the railing.

"Ye know," he said to her, "If ye bend yer knee jest a little, ye've a less chance o' falling. O' course ye didn't hear that from me." He winked.

They smelled it before they saw it. A large orc came into the slight clearing in the forest. It had a filthy tangle of hair, which fell onto the breastplate of his black armor, which bore a symbol which resembled a white "S"... It's eyes were blood red, and Machia could see fangs in it's mouth... The orc towered a good two feet above Machia and in one hand it held a long broadbladed sword and in the other a bow... Machia and Fish instinctively took a step backwards so they were more hidden in the shadows.. Fish saw four other smaller orcs come out of the woods behind the head orc, one of them holding a torch...

"What is it Uglsap?" The orc with the torch grunted, "More fauns, thinking of havin' a bit of a midnight dance again?" It gave a harsh laugh, "I'll break their little furry legs if yer like..."

"Shut yer mouth, Snaga!" Ugslap barked and snatched the torch away, "Use yer nose! That aint no Faun! 'sides we cleared the woods of that scum months ago... Sharky's got 'em workin' the mines of Anvard, Beaver's Dam and Calormene! Think he may've sent some ter Felimath and some'er the other islands too... An' as soon as we get the mines dug in "Enemies How" we'll send 'em there too!"

"If we ever get those mine dug." Snaga muttered, "There's some sorta magic in that place 'an I don't like it."

"Didn't I tell yer to shut it, yer worthless bit o' filth!" Ugslap said kicking Snaga, who gnashed his teeth at him... "And help me find these humans!! That's man flesh I smell! Another Ranger no doubt!" Ugslap lunged forward and caught the back of Machia's coat... Fish tried to pull him back, but Snaga caught hold of her too and they were both pulled into the torch light...

"What 'ave we here?" Ugslap said putting a hairy hand around Machia's neck and pulling him off the ground, his eyes gleaming in the fire light... "You ain't a ranger, yer nasty lit'l night crawler!" Machia gasped and gulped, trying to draw a breath... "Well, we'll soon find out what yer are, won't we?" he growled as he brought the torch close to the First Mate's face, almost touching his skin...

Snaga, who had Fish's arms pinned behind her gave a high pitched laugh... Which quickly turned into a yowl of pain as Fish aimed a hard kick at the orc's knee with the bottom of her boot and found her target... She wrenched her arms free, just as Machia got his hand up to the torch and knocked it in the opposite direction: Ugslap's eye. The orc roared in pain and released Machia who fell to the ground... He was on his feet in a second and together he and Fish sprinted towards the dark trees, away from the orcs...

Ugslap gave a roar of anger. "After them yer worthless pile of meat! It don't matter if yer have ter kill them first! I want their heads!"

The two pirates kept running, unaware that they were heading straight towards the fortress of Cair Paravel....

---------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, back on Saruman's ship, the Wizard's crew realized they were missing their captives. Saruman gave orders to search the surrounding lands for them and started his journey to Cair Paravel. A smile formed on his thin lips. He had managed to clear Narnia of all the Pirates... Except for two, who could not possibly survive long in this changed Narnia.... A Narnia changed for the better... A Narnia that was completely and utterly his...
