Prince Caspian: Ben Barnes & why is he so old?

I am considerably older than most members here. I must say that Mr. Barnes looks very young to me. Do I agree with the casting at the moment? It is safe to say I will not make a final decision until May 18, 2008. :D

For all that Mr. Adamson has directed, he has been spot on with casting. I am confident that the Mr. Barnes will be widely accepted by the viewing audience - many of the viewers have not read Prince Caspian in enough detail to consider him otherwise.

Who would you write to? It's as if they didn't read the book ...
:(

Yeah.:(

This is just..a disappointment for me. The story is about a boy growing up, learning, changing, making choices, developing...I just can't possibly imagine this Ben whats-his-face portraying this. He already looks old, set, hard, a warrior already. It's like they've already dumped this part of the book down the drain.

Here's my opinion. I think from the pics he looks too old to be Caspian. I mean, from reading the books, Caspian is just a boy learning to be a man. And this guy, he looks like a warrior already, which sucks.

But I also think we should give him a chance. See what he can do~!

And These Guys Aren't:
Peter is suposed to be thirteen but Will is Twenty. Anna who plays someone whose age is approximated at 12yo is now 18 yo. Skander whose character is approximately 11 yo is 16. and Georgie is 12 to her Character's approximate age of 10. Why aren't you guys fussing about them being too old/ This is driving me nuts, give the poor guy a chance.

I really think he can pull it off!!! He looks young enough to play Caspian and i'm sure that the make up team (Oscar winner) will make him look even younger. Besides he really looks princely and I'm sure he'll be a wonderful Caspian! I also trust his acting ability and of course i believe that Andrew Adamson will make an amazing movie as the LWW. Of course it'll be not as the book but, of this I'm sure, a very good movie adaptation!!!

Go on Ben!!! :)

i think he'l do just fine, im not happy though because i guess they are gonna put a little "susan and caspian" thing in the movie! im not happy!

MUST I DO THIS AGAIN: TO PLAY A PERSON WHO IS THE SAME AGE AS PETER PEVENSIE, THEY MUST GET SOMEONE WHO IS THE SAME AGE OR EVEN SLIGHTLY OLDER THAN WILLIAM MOSELY. WILL IS 20 WHY IS IT SO BAD THAT HE IS TWENTY FIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GIVE THE GUY A CHANCE, it says on his bio that he often plays roles as a teenager. WHY AM I THE ONLY PERSON WHO SEEMS TO SEE THIS.
Let me defend my stake on MY reason for doubt.

He's 25, for goodness sakes!!! Can someone help it if they express some dismay and doubt over his age (25), because Caspian was only supposed to be 13 or 14!?
When was the last time you saw a guy pretend to be 14 when he was 25? They said Ben Barnes played like, 17 year olds, not 13 year olds!
William Moseley was alright, because it was only a what- 4 year difference, not an 11 year one!

And the reason why Ben Barnes blew Andrew and Co. away was because he had a lot more experience than the younger boys. He's 25, not 15!

I know you must be annoyed and angry but please don't write in caps - it's hard to read and very annoying!

Eveyrone else is voicing their opinon!

^ my opinoin. :D

no......I dont think they are gonna put any romance in the movies.

heres what...I dont care who they cast! i've seen movies all the time..and I NEVER knew who was playing who, and I always end up loving the movie as I did with LWW.

and ppl gotta lighten up, give Ben a chance, dont judge so soon.

man..

We have no choice but to give Ben a chance, but seriously, when I read PC, I get the impression Caspian is closer to 9 or 10 than 14 or 15, and Ben is 25. His playing a teenager would be great if they were shooting VDT right now, and the established young king of Narnia were called for; but he is playing untried Caspian, the kid who rides off terrified into the night, gets a bonk on the head in a storm and wakes up shrieking with fear at the sight of the badger who takes him in ... would a great big 25-year-old man, or even a 14-year-old boy act like this? (Even if it were possible Ben could portray a 14-year-old?) He is right now older than the actor who plays Peter, and yet he should be portraying a child younger than Peter. It's going to be a stretch.

i think he'l do just fine, im not happy though because i guess they are gonna put a little "susan and caspian" thing in the movie! im not happy!

i sincerely hope not.
ill just wait to see the movie then i will judge. and i totally see your point LJ but i can also relate to IS!
