Prince Caspian: Ben Barnes & why is he so old?

Hmm. Well that's quite interesting. Isn't he supposed to be blond too? Anyway, I'm looking forward to how this all works. I think he is too old, but it hasn't been confirmed yet and you never know, it might work once we see the film. Or at least the trailer!!

Sometimes you hear news of someone being cast in a part and you can not see it! But once you see them in the role it seems perfect. So I say let's wait.

*waiting* ... *sigh* Is it time yet?!
 
princesslucky is making an excellent point in regards to the fact that it hasn't been CONFIRMED yet. It does seem very likely due to the reactions made by the acting company he left that Barnes is the new Caspian, but if Walden hasn't said anything yet then we can truthfully only speculate about what he'll be like in the movie. That's my opinion anyway. It would be nice to know what's going on soon though.
 
Omg..I hate how ppl can be so judgemental! I mean..YOU HAVENT EVEN SEEN HIS ACTING YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So dont judge him by his, age, looks..wutever! He'll be in costume, make-up and whatnot for the movie anways!
 
I am just saying that I don't believe Andrew would pick him. I just think it is a roumer that is all. There has been plenty of those lately about the Prince casted
 
OH MY GOSH!!!! I literally just got home from a weekend retreat 20 minutes ago. I was checking narniafans and found out! That totally rocks!!! When did they put it up? I can't believe I missed being here the day of.

Personally I think he has the look of Caspian if he cuts his hair a tad. He does seem a little old to be playing Caspian...but what does my objection have to do with anything?

Again I must point out to all who say he is too old: TO PLAY A PERSON WHO IS THE SAME AGE AS PETER PEVENSIE, THEY MUST GET SOMEONE WHO IS THE SAME AGE OR EVEN SLIGHTLY OLDER THAN WILLIAM MOSELY. WILL IS 20 WHY IS IT SO BAD THAT HE IS TWENTY FIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:confused:
 
I'd agree with you Kate12Whisper13. I mean, yeah I was kind of shocked he is 25, but that's who they've chosen and I can't do anything about that. I just hope whoever plays Eustace is or looks around my age because I am planning to audition for Jill...and just incase my dream comes true that would be nice. :D . BTW are you really from NZ K12W13?
 
That is just my humble opinion. BTW:I am not yelling at anyone who is disappointed by the age but is willing to see how he does, just at those who are not willing to give him a chance cuz he is to old in their opinion. I believe Pippa and Andrew know their stuff alot better than we do. HE WILL PROBABLY BE EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!! I trust the experts they have not erred yet.:D

Wow, um.. no one is actually saying, "Whoa, Ben Barnes is a bad actor just because he is 25!"
Most of us are just expressing suprise and confusion over the fact that Barnes is twenty-fie years old. I will explain the (or at least, my) reason for confusion. In Prince Caspain, Lewis said Caspain was only in his early teens, and was in his later teens in Voyange of the Dawn Treader. This Ben guy is like, 25... (26 when they actually get the movie out?) Now, I don't really have a problem with William Moseley playing Peter (at least in LWW) because he could very well be mistaken for a younger teenager. I thought he was only 15 or 16, at first...

Although, I won't be suprised that they are making the age of Caspian in the upcoming movie older than the book- for obvious reasons. :D

I'm not saying that he's a bad actor; I'm just expressing the "wowness" factor over his age. Please don't mistake that with his acting skills. :)
