Prince Caspian: Ben Barnes & why is he so old?

I didn't mean to go upset Hayden Christensen fans! I thought he was alright in the second episode, but... sorry if I offended anyone!

I love the books because they had these little things here and there. I was glad when they showed the little book titles from Mr. Tumnus' shelves, but when the film-makers try to add their own little things to "make it interesting" when they have already promised to make a faithful adaption. It's not supposed to be for their "glory", to try to make it a classic movie, because when it has been distorted so much you can hardly tell it was supposed to be an adaption to such-and-such a book. I guess I'm just upset with the casting people, and the director.. how come Douglas Gresham is allowing this? I guess I'm a bit miffed that Ben Barnes had to go audition for the role anyway.

I bet you the movie will turn out better than you except. Though I was thinking today that its gonne be weird seeing the Pevensie's cuz they'll probably look a little bit different and older.

Yeah, what happened to Gresham in all this? SAVE YOUR STEPFATHER'S MASTERPIECE, MAN!!!!! :mad:
I said in an earlier post that I thought they brainwashed him so he would be helpless to stop them. ;) I still stick by that.

And Ben's hair isn't even blonde! (Though I suppose they could dye it, though I doubt it)

I hope so. But I have a bad feeling in my stomach like they're really going to pull some off the wall stunt and change some important parts.. :(

Gaaah! This is driving me insane! This is why if any of the books I potentially write are tapped to become movies, I am getting involved in the productions whether the people want me to or not. :mad: AUTHORS UNITE! Too bad C.S. Lewis isn't alive anymore...that's why it's DOUGLAS GRESHAM'S JOB to protect the story FOR HIM!!!!!!! :mad:

I personally like a dark-haired Caspian better.

The future Prince Caspian's hair color aside, any totally drastic changes to the story, I think, should be considered a moot point. There is no point in changing the story, especially taking Peter out of the fight scene with Miraz. It would ruin everything, and if Walden even tried then Doug Gresham would just say, "Alright, if you want to ruin the story then do it with a huge copyright legal battle on your hands." In other words, I don't think there is anything major to worry about.

I wish he would say that.

I'm not saying that they are ruining or will ruin the Chronicles, General Oreius. I only mean that it seems they are straying from the plot.
Beginning with: 1a) They casted a man to play the part of the boy Caspian;
1b) if they do that, they may very well have to drastically change, or, hopefully not, even omit the one on one fight scene with Peter and Miraz;
1c) it sounds like they are going to be making some changes to Caspian's character like they're making him a bit more prideful and cocky. (supposedly)
2) from what has been circulated, it seems that they are looking into inserting a mini-romance (flirting) between Susan and Caspian- and that is just wrong!
3) and apparently, they are changing the archery shoot off between Trumpkin and Susan to a shoot off with Susan and Caspian.

Based on those reasons alone, that could very well ruin it for me.

But casting a man into a boy's role in not what I would call a minor change! It also bothers me that Caspian should be firting with Susan. He's not in a position to be flirting with her, especially when Miraz is trying to kill him.

And, Jean, please stop calling it an over-reaction. I am entitled to my opinion, just like you are entitled to yours. :)

^yeah..I get wut you mean..but..I just feel that the movie will still be good, and perhaps some minor changes will be for the good.

Yeah, the charatcers is bothering, especially how they're changing one of the greatest King's of Narnia personality.

I actually KINDA like the Su&Casp thing. Like I said before, I wish Lewis had put a little bit more romance in the chronicles.....:rolleyes: but thats meh..

edit:
I just thought of a stupid thought and thought I'd share it. :p:

maybe they only casted a guy who has dark hair for Caspian AND someone who was around Anna's age or older so that Caspian's and Susan's relationship in the movie could seem more real. :rolleyes:
