Prince Caspian: Ben Barnes & why is he so old?

I think that the main reason is that they intend to start filming VotDT directly after filming for PC is done and Andrew can not do both post production on PC and be the director of VotDT at the same time. But I think that the rumored replacement for Adamson is somebody who knows the stories like the back of his hand and probably annoyed the heck out of Jack while he was writing them.

And who would that be?

You're talking about Gresham directing them right?

I think Andrew stated he didn't wish to be held down with seven films; but I think I'm going off-topic, and if I find that interview, I'll post the link.

Dudes!

why is Prince Caspian so old?!

in the stories (well, Prince Caspian) he's like susans age! and in Voyage, hes like 3 years older, so................... wow...........

This series may end up totally messed like SW, but there's little we can do about it. Perhaps twenty years from now, some true, crazed fan, distraught at the destruction wrought by money-loving revisionists like those making the current live-action incarnation of this series of novels, will re-make the films, even better than they are now. That's all we can really hope for, aside from some sudden change of mind amongst the crew, or some freak accident. Perhaps one of us will rise to the challenge, when the time is right. But, that's in the future, so who knows? This is our Now and we can do little to change it.

I hope you're right. Except then they would have to cast a new Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy... that wouldn't be right...

Firstly
Peter and Susan aren't in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

And secondly, the children aren't involved with either pre-production or post-production, so Georgie and Skandar would be able to be in both of them.

Cyon.

Now, I know I freaked out earlier, but frankly, CALM DOWN. Despite all this fuss over Ben's age, I do not think Narnia is hopelessly ruined. And I do not believe that Andrew Adamson, nor the members of his crew are "money-loving revisionists". The reason he made LWW was because he loved the books with a passion and felt that he needed to make them. Now, the movie had its differences, but it did not drastically change the plot. And it more than glorified Aslan, which Lewis himself would've been proud of. And the children...well, let me say something about Georgie Henley. That girl is an amazing actress. Amazing. For such a young age, and for it being her first movie...she surpassed all expectations. I was blown away by her performance as Lucy. Frankly, she was one of the movie's perfect elements. In fact, the casting for LWW took years to complete. William Moseley was originally contacted by Pippa Hall back in 1999! So, the production of this movie was not something rushed through just b/c the crew wanted to make money off of it. They wanted to make it as great as possible, and they did a wonderful job. And even though we have doubts about PC, surely, it's going to be a great movie because of the dedication of the cast and crew to bring Lewis' masterpiece to life.

just to remind you, Caspian was not Susan's age, he was Peter's age.

The reasons Peter and Edmund seem so much older than Caspian are as follows: first off all Aslan breathed on them and so a sense of greatness hung around them (a greatness which we know for a fact made Eustace and Jill unrecognizable to their school peers); second of all, Peter and Edmund were from our world and all of us know the effects of the Narnian air on visitors from our world; and thirdly, Peter and Edmund knew all the war strategies and ruling strategies that Caspian had not maybe learned yet.

I think he kinda looks the part except the non-blond hair. He is 25 i beleive and is looks young enough to be 17 or something. I just hope is acting fits the part.

Here everybody, calm down. I just asked Doug Gresham for you.

Me:"Some were just upset because of a
rumor of something in the movie between Caspian and Susan. Their concern is out of loyalty to the books. "

Mr. Gresham: "I fully understand that concern, and shared it at one time, but I don't think anyone will be offended or disturbed by our screenplay."

Does that make anyone feel better? ...I hope!

I actually wasn't freaking out. I've left it up in the air as to the fate of this film series (i.e. whether or not it will turn out to be that great and all, once complete). I have my views and opinions, but I am willing to accept the hand of Fate into these matters, to a greater extent than some would believe me capable of doing. That's all. Hopefully I'm wrong in worrying.
