Prince Caspian: Ben Barnes & why is he so old?

I suppose there's no point in us getting upset about it until we see it... then we might find out there was nothing to be upset over, but we wasted a whole year and a half being upset over nothing. :D

I agree; more than likely, we (not referring to myself, because I'm not complaining) would have wasted time, energy, and breath complaining about something that was out of our control.

Just for the record, I wasn't complaining about it... I was just warning people what I would do IF it did happen. :p :D I think PC will be good. If, however, there is some sort of flirty thing going on between Susan and Caspian, everyone should steer clear of me because I will be very upset. But I think it will be good. :D

I know what you said; I wasn't referring to you on that note. (i.e. the age issue)

I think it will be good. I hope it surpasses LWW; and I hope it trumps any other film to be released.

look, i'm sorry if i offend anybody but..

i think it's madness casting a 26 year-old to play a 15 year-old. my objection is that ben barnes has black hair and in the book pc has blonde hair! but i dont mind as long as the movie is good.

LOL -- I know, I wanted him to be blond, too! But Lucy was supposed to be blond, and Georgie is dynamite, so I think Ben will be good whether they leave his hair dark or make it blond, like Orly as Legolas, very pretty.

But I'm with you about his age. He is just too old to be the Caspian in the book. I think the film will be good because I trust Adamson after LWW, but I am disappointed that it won't be as faithful to the book; I don't see how it can be with a grown man playing Caspian's role.

Yes, I am doing it again, wasting my breath and your time complaining about a problem which probably won't even exist! Except how can it not exist when you think about Caspian and see he is going to be played by someone who is 26 years old? If you have read the book at alll, you know he was a boy!

Actually, we, who have had issues over the age, LOL, are ok with everything else. Personally, I have no doubt in Ben's acting skills.

There are two seperate issues that people are debating here:

1. Ben's age

2. The romance between Caspian and Susan

There is a third factor, I suppose, if you count how good you hope/think the movie will be. (Everyone is unanimous in that square.)

I think that if people say we should drop the age thing, then we should also drop the romance thing. No need to be partial if we have no control over both issues.

But, that's just my personal opinion. :)

Good point, Cheetah. For me, I think everyone should post how they feel, whether it's something they can do anything about, or not. Thats the point, we speculate about what may or may not happen ...

I think we all feel the movie will be good. Some of us are just wondering how it will match up to the book, because we love the book.
