Prince Caspian: Ben Barnes & why is he so old?

If there was going to be any little crush-thing going on, I wanted it to be Lucy liking Caspian a bit...y'know a cute little schoolgirl crush. She's around Caspian more than Susan anyway, I mean she's with him the whole time VDT. Of course, that would've worked better w/ a younger Caspian...but, I don't doubt that the movie will be good...at least not too much anyway. I have a feeling we're all going to be pleasantly surprised :D

In my honest opinion, Barnes is very handsome. ;) I think it'd be appropriate for Lucy to have an honest crush on him. Look at me, I have a huge crush on Obi-Wan. (aka Ewan McGregor); nothing really harmful about it.

No doubt, he's (Ben) a good looking person.. nothing wrong with that.... except that a ton of girls will join the forum because of his "hottness", and they will make the "Beninites"[sp]... oh, well...

A lot of people like Johnny Depp. but he's better looking. :rolleyes:
 
I think Ewan McGregor, Johnny Depp and Viggo Mortenson are both very nice looking gents. If you have a poster of Obi, Johnny or Aragorn in your room or something, that's normal. Here's the thing though: you aren't on a cruise around the world with them or fighting a war beside them. If you were, and they were 25 and you were 12, it would be very sick and wrong for there to be any romance!

That's the poster on the wall thing: a one-way crush by a youngster on an older person who doesn't know about it, or if he does, doesn't return the feeling! But any kind of "romance" between Susan and Caspian would just be weird!
 
What you have to remember is that the romance thing was created as a joke, and what we have been told was that there will be "something" between them, but not necessarily "romance"

And also, Ben is 25, but Caspian is between 14 and 18.
 
i must say that it really freaks me out so far, he seems too old... but who knows, they probably know what they are doing...

I haven't seen you post in a while, Lieke, welcome back. :) -- or have you just been in different threads than me? That could happen.

I think Ben is too old to be Caspian from the book, PC, so they will probably have to change his character somewhat, but I think Adamson is a good director, and the movie will come out good.

I think it's strange that they chose someone who is 25, as they had been casting for people who were 17-18 (I should know)
But as they changed their mind, they must have had a reason.
 
Is Ben 25 now, or 26? I heard both. Oh well, he will certainly be at least 26 by the time they finish filming, I think.
