Prince Caspian Movie 2008

So I thought I'd just add some of my thoughts on the probability of PC being released in 2008. I think its good that they are willing to put it off a year in order to do a good job on it. It shows that the people making the movie really want to do the books justice (or if not, they really wanna make a good movie). I REALLY like the idea of the next three being done in a trilogy and being filmed at the same time and released soon after the other. I'll be around 18 or 19 by that time, but hey, I'll still be a fan of Narnia like I've been for years. I've been waiting for a good movie of narnia to come out since I was like, 10. After waiting 6 years, I can handle another few years for them to come out with the other movies :D

About the release order, I think its really smart.

1. The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe (2005)
2. Prince Caspian (2008?)
3. Voyage of the Dawn Treader
4. The Silver Chair
5. The Magician’s Nephew
6. The Horse and His Boy
7. The Last Battle

LWW should obviously be first because it was pretty much the most beloved. Since it did so well, it sparked the interest in the next three which will be released. MN is good to come out next because it gives history into narnia (eg, the lamppost). Then HHB is just a good book, and the Last battle should wrap it up. I know thats pretty much how Lewis wrote them (close to that order) but I really like the order that they'll be released if they use that order listed above.

well, actually I'd like it better if they stuck to the original order(chronological) or what else WOULD have been a gud idea is if they put it in READING order. starting from the magician's nephew. C.S.Lewi's would have been happy with those ways(his ways) :) :p :D

Okay, I'm confused. They are doing them in the original order. How do you know Lewis would have been pleased the other way. He never protested the original publications. The "original" order as you suggest is not original and is actually very new. It is a matter of opinion which way you choose to read them. But as far as "original" order, that appears to be what they are doing.

Yeah, I thought Magician's Nephew was the first book but then something said it was the sixth??? I guess it was cuz it was the sixth book C.S. Lewis published or something like that.

The Magician's Nephew was the 6th published but it is really should be read 1st because it explains how Narnia is created!!!!

But it would most likely be not a thrilling movie like LWW so they are making it later to get people enjoyed into the series!

If the directors are smart, I think they should incorporate some of the ideas as used in LOTR to Magician's Nephew. Of course I'll explain! :D

In the beginning of FOTR, we see a scene from the last battle of the Second Age, a glimpse in history. I thought it was an awesome way to begin the movie, explaining to the audience the origins of the One Ring, its finding, and how it made its way to Bilbo Baggins.

For Magician's Nephew, while Jadis is explaining to the children the history of Charn and her use of the Deplorable Word, I think they should add some "flash-back" scenes. It would make for EXCELLENT special effects, and I think to see a full-on battle raging between two sisters would keep the audience on the edge of their seats.

Everyone's got so many different opinions about what should be read first. I like the order they are doing it in, because I like reading them in the order CS Lewis wrote them in. You can understand the differences in his writing styles as he progresses in writing about Narnia and get more out of it that way.

I don't really think it matters how they release the movies, as long as they do!!! (LWW would have come first because as everyone knows that is like the best one of the Chronicles)

I don't think it is really coming out in 2008, because in a more recent Walden media release they said they were still planning on a Christmas 2007 release. But even if it is, I'll be waiting!! And expecting all the extra year's work to make it EVEN BETTER.

did you guys read this? ^^
thats what i was going to say. there not filming just one movie~theyll be shootin scenes for the other movies too...so its GOOD its as early as 2008! and then(from what i heard) theyll release another movie a year after PC.. :p

What is interesting here is that PC, VDT and SC are very different films, with very different characters. It seems to me to be a challenge to do all three films at once, like they did with LOTR (where all three films had a lot in common). However, there is the advantage of having the same creative team working on all three. This will ensure the films have a consistent 'look' and 'feel', even if set in very different settings. It will also help cut down on mobilization/demobilization costs, which are significant on epic-scale films like the Chronicles.

As far as waiting goes, if the films are released in the schedule they hope for, I will be well into my 50's before the last film comes out.....but it will be well worth the wait!

okay, i know its FOR SURE not coming out in 2007...yes they ARE filming three at once, then the remaing three after that. PC, VDT and SC will be filmed first, with PC coming out 2008 possibly 2009!<<<it better not!!. VDT will come out a year later, then SC a year after that. they have to film PC and VDT right away because they need the characters to remain fairly around the same age (peter susan edmund and lucy) ...then i guess theyll do SC....

then they will be filming MN, HahB, and LB at once after that...also coming out a year between each other. my logical guess would be that that order would be MN, HAHB and LB~LB has to be last or i will be VERY mad!!!!!!

this i know for sure from several sources.

Prince Caspian out in 2008? Damn, oh well at least i'm able to collect more merchandise to prepare before the next sequel is out. At least by 2008 i'll be prepared to go to the UK or NZ.
