Prince Caspian Movie 2008

I don't know you guys, but I think its a bad Idea to movie for summer 2008 instead of Christmas. DO you think it will hold its own against the other "blockbuster movies"?

It will hold its own, but summer is a blah time for the movies as far as I am concerned. Christmas was perfect.

not always... summer is a time when a lot of big movies are expected... take this summer, for example. the first big movie was M:I:3, now there is a whole list of movies that are supposed to be huge hits... plus, people have more time during the summer to go to the movies than around christmas...

i'm not saying that i like waiting longer for Prince Caspian, but that it may be better to release it during the summer.... did i just make sense?

Plus, at least it's better than CHRISTMAS 2008. At least it's sooner! YAY. Let the countdown begin!!!!

Exactly!!! Before I thought it was moved to Christmas 2008... this is much better. Plus, I hear it would have been in competition with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which is scheduled for a November 2007 release (I think). Not that it matters much--- by the time PC had come out, HP would have been out for a few weeks.

So what happened to the other excuse... about wanting more time for special effects? Now it is because they don't want it to compete with some other movie?

NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when i saw this on narniafans.com's home page, i could not believe mi eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!! i mean, having to wait a year and a half is bad enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, when my friend told me the Walden was making The Water Horse I was thinking "No! They can't do that!!! All of the actors will get too old!", and I got really mad.The Water Horse????

Ahhhhh!

 This is really annoying! Princess_Iliana is right, the actors will be too old and I'll be thirty by the time all the films are out!

I think summer will be a good time to release it though. Prince Caspian seems more like a summer film that a Christmas film. It'll be a genuine summer blockbuster!

Right, it woldn't be a good Christmas release but in order for it to look like summer in the movie it has to be filmed in the late Spring and Summer. Then it would be released maybe by the end of the year or the next year, but I personaly think waiting an extra year to release it during the right season would be ridiculus. Of course Walden is worried that if they release a second Narnia too soon the rates wouldn't be as good as the first. I would think the same, but not with Narnia. Narnia is too big of a hit for rates to go down hill. If they are worried about releasing soon they could film as fast as possible and tehn release the movies when ever a certain amount of time apart, but I don't think fans could wait that long. We would be so much older. So little kids who are fans will probably be fans for a long time if they grow up with the movies.

Right. I'm not a little kid anymore (unfortunately, lol) but after seeing the movie, I've gotten to love Narnia even more and even decided to read all seven of the chronicles! I think I'll be a Narnia fan for a looong time.

Prince Caspian on 12/13/07?
NarniaWeb received this report from ’Muglin’ along with a list of 2006 release dates for movies in Switzerland: "Buena Vista Switzerland has just sent out a list of upcoming films and their release dates. "Prince Caspian" is scheduled for December 13, 2007 in Switzerland. Seems like we don’t have to wait till 2008 after all!" NarniaWeb has not been able to confirm this information, so it needs to be taken with this much salt.
