they need to think about the consumer before they think about bussines ya know?

Ummmm. They were. If they didn't push it back, they would have rushed it, then we would have been stuck with an inferior product. So which would you prefer? A horrible movie sooner, or wait 6-8 more months and get a great movie?

geesh, I know its best to way for the effects and all that good stuff, but thats too too too far away! Well arent they supposedly filming PC, Voyage, and the Silver Chair all at once or something in a trilogy, because if they do that means the movies wont take 25 years to come out! LOL

Princess_Iliana, u r sooo right!!!!!
i mean, now, Will is 19! he's going 2 b @least 21 when it comes out!!!!! i mean, if it was coming out jan./feb. of 2008, that wouldn't b so bad, as it's only 1 or 2 months later, but SUMMER????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!!!!!!!

The 2008 release is fine as long as they get the actual filming done before all the actors are incredibly old for their roles. They were very smart in choosing to do the next three films back to back so they won't meet the problem with cast ages with Skandar and Georgie.

William is already 19, and they will be filming probably at the end of this year into next year (if Pippa Hall hasn't begun casting for Prince Caspian and the screenplay isn't done, it will be awhile before they start). He is playing someone who, in the book, is 14. But after Prince Caspian, he will no longer be in the movies, nor will Anna, so we don't have to worry about their ages.

I'm just hoping they use the extra time to make it an even better film. As long as I'm satisfied with it when it does come out, I'm ready to wait a few months longer than planned.

Very true, but "The Water Horse" ?? Walden will get better attention with The Narnia series than that, what ever that may be.

AHHH i can't wait until 2008 for prince caspian! it's to far away!!! no move it back to 2007 even if it is late in 2007 it just doesn't sound so far away! let's go on strike saying "2007, 2007, 2007" LOL

The Water Horse is Walden's movie too, and they don't want competition--- that way they figure they will make more money if both movies do well.

I guess it's understandable, but I'll go on strike chanting "2007!" too :p

I think that 2008 is too far away for Prince Caspian, especially because of the actors ages, and because I think that Prince Caspian is one of the least challenging stories for CGI, although it's not that bad if what they say is true and they're going to make PC, VODT and SC at the same time.

Personally I think the order should be:
1.the Lion, the witch and the wardrobe.
2 Prince Caspian
3. The voyage of the Dawn Treader
4. the Silver Chair
5. The Last Battle.

And IF things are still going right and they feel like making more movies, the Magicians Nephew. (Kind of like, Star Wars I, II, III, to explain how things began)

The original book order was LWW, PC, VODT, HHB, SC, MN, TLB. I just found out recently (about 3 years ago) that they changed it for the most recent publishings, which I think is wrong because the Magicians Nephew is better if you are already familiar with Narnia and the rest of the characters (you get a feeling of "so THIS is how it all began")

.

Hey, I've been receive this e mail from the Web and... I am happy... hahaha
Its great, what do you think?
According to The Hollywood Reporter The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian has been bumped from the Christmas 2007 release slot and moved to summer 2008. According to The Reporter the announcement from Disney came hours after Columbia Pictures announced that they would release Walden’s The Water Horse on December 8, 2007. While the article states that Disney feared the films would cannibalize each other, it has appeared for several weeks that Caspian would be pushed back to 2008. Adamson is still working on the screenplay and casting director Pippa Hall has said she won’t begin casting for the role of Caspian till this fall.

"The Water Horse" is the story of a young lonely Scottish boy who discovers a mysterious egg on the shore of a loch. The egg hatches and a mysterious creature - the mythical water horse, the sea monster of Scottish legend - emerges. As the monster grows, the boy has his hands full trying to hide the monster from people who don’t understand it and want to hurt it. Weta Digital and Weta Workshop will be creating the effects for the film.

See you and thanks for read!
Vicky

so when does it come out?

I think this is just the same announcement that it will come out in summer, 2008. I don't know why Vicky thinks it says something different.

Of course I wont lie you becouse I dont win anything with that... dont think I am lying even If I dont know or meet someone of you ever!

We're not accusing you of lying. Is that no where did you mention that It will be released in 2007. You just mentioned that it has been stated for weeks that PC has been pushed back to 2008 because of that movie that is supposed to be coming out in christmas 2007....

iMerge with the other Caspian/2008 Thread.

Vicky, I just stuck the "not true?" tag line on your other thread because i didn't want anyone to get confused about the dates. I did not think you were lying to us! Sorry if I implied that.
:)

Yeah, I was really mad when I heard the news that the movie was going to be bumped forward to summer 2008. This means us dedicated Narnia fans will have to wait 2 whole years to see another great Narnia movie. But this also means that when it comes out, it'll be worth the wait and it just gives the director more time to make it. The longer the movie, the better it is, afterall. I mean, the Lord of the Rings trilogy took a year and a half to film. So don't be too disappointed, my friends.
