Shangpo the Orangutan had come out to watch what the royal party was doing. When he heard the mention of drunkards, he interjected in a voice which bespoke embarrassment: "O noblest of guests, I beg you not to think ill of this respectable inn! What you call drunkenness was not the norm for this place, but a freak accident. Woe is me, I put too much cooking brandy into a stew, and some Talking Dogs who were unaccustomed to alcohol ate some of it. I had to tell you the truth; but please don't tell the owner to fire me!"

Kay brushed ebony on the shoulder very gently then she looked over and shuddered as the drunkerds smell got to her she felt like her stomach was about to Lurch She continued to brush Ebony's shoulders

" There you are girl" She scratched her under her chin and touched her nose and walked up with Ebony by the reigns and Led her to where Lucy was standing.

She went to where her cloak was laying on the chair and put it on and picked up her bow and quiver and capped it on her shoulder and draped her cloak around her.

"Poor mite, said Ebony to Kayleigh, "well at least it was an accident. Dont worry," she said to him, "we wont tell."

I am sorry I misspoke Shanpo forgive me i don't think ill of this inn no matter what you took us at least it was a accident i promise i won't misepak again and i know good and well its not how this inn is."

Through the window of the washroom Lucy held the reigns of Ebony. Wondering how Kayleigh knew where she was (she always could find her) Lucy smiled as her horse nuzzled her chin.

Kayleigh smiled as she saw lucy washing she didn't know how she did it either

"My Lady is just a lucky guess where you are i don't have any specail magic or anything at least not that I know of yet. i am from England just like you are. I am one of your maids its my job to look after you as well as your siblings."

"Thank you so much, gracious lady," said the ape, adding, "and thank you again for taking time last night to answer my questions."

Meanwhile Peter told Lucy, "The farther west you go, the more space there will be to left and right of you that hasn't been covered by the heralds I sent out. So, since your undertaking needs to COVER the kingdom, simply start zigzagging. Talk with more Narnians, make sure the word is spreading. Meanwhile, I'll set out straight west with two horses, so I can switch back and forth and make good speed without exhausting them. We'll eventually meet on the main road. Just give me time to leave instructions with Oreius." He concluded with one more long-distance kiss to his sister.

Kayeligh tourned to the ape

"Your welcome i hope it was a help to you and tis no problem Great ape i am in service to the Queen as well as her gracious subjects. This is quite a nice inn and forgive my outburst again I have not slept well sense i came from the palace here i have felt edgy. I guess i am use to the comfort and safeness of the palace. I am also worried about things."

"Bandits? This close to our own capital? Do you know something I don't, Lu? Or is it just that you love me or something like that?" Lucy could almost see him grinning.

"You know I'm pratically paranoid about them, eversince I was attacked a few years back. Back then I wasn't as trained as I am now, but still when its 10 to 1 odds are the 10 will win. And you never know, they could very well be close to the capital."

Kayleigh lokoed at Lucy "Is there anything else you need my lady i am going to go practice my archery. i am a little out of practice and i need my arm warmed up and i need to practice it before we go. Just let me know when your ready to go so i can ready my horse Swiftwind." She took her bow and strung it and grabbed a arrow.

Once he was sure Lucy was listening to him again, Peter said, "All right, Lu, to make you feel better, I'll have some hawks and ravens fly top cover so no one can ambush me. Then there'll be no inconvenience in sending them home again, once I get close enough to you to do THIS--" And Peter, at his end, tried something he had only just thought of this morning: holding his arms in front of him, and touching the amulet to both arms while imagining those arms closing around her. As a result, leagues away, Lucy felt herself bear-hugged with startling tactile realism.

Meanwhile, Horatius the Leopard said to Kaye, "Here, I'll help you make sure the shooting space is clear of bypassers. Not that I question your caution or your accuracy; but what we saw yesterday was a reminder that arrows CAN hit elsewhere than intended."

Archery Practice

Thanks Horatius I would appreciate that but i would stop before i hit anything. At least i hope i could maybe you should stay around Hortaius

Kaye Strung her bow and headed down towards the archery shooting space and set up bales she was right below the stable and in plain site of the washroom where she could see Lucy if she needed to Run to her for any reason.

Kaye shot a few arrows she narrowly missed the target but then she aimed and concentrated visualizing the arrow where she thought it should go she let loose of the string and it hit the target square where it intended. She shot her eye pealed and aimed again and teared the arrow loose.

She took some sticks and some dry straw and cut herself some new arrows as she gathered the ones she shot for practice and put them back in her quiver.

She set down to think what if Lucy was right what if she discovered some sort of abilities sense she arrived. She strung and unstrung the bow thoughtfully.

It just the narnian air she thought and how she could keep tabs on Lucy she didn't realize how she did that and knows pricielty where she should be or where to find her.

Your justa oridinary girl from england who disovered a magical world and went there on a adventure by accident completly but then she remembered Lucy talking about Aslan.

"We should be here if Aslan wants us here he woulnd't call to you unless he needed you or wouldn't be here.

kay dont' be ridiculs she scolded herself magic don't exist.

OOC: Is Kay thinking in the _present_ that magic doesn't exist, or is she _remembering_ a time when she was skeptical? If this is supposed to be her current thought, NO ONE could live in Narnia as long as Kay presumably has lived there, and not believe in magic. The Hermit with whom this very quest is connected is known to all Narnians to be a magical person. Or did I misunderstand your biography, and you've actually only been IN Narnia for days or weeks?

She is thinking when she was skeptical when she was in school and she read fairy stories.

"Oh," Lucy said almost winded, "Peter you know I hate bear hugs!," She laughed a little, "Yes the hawks will do fine. Well I should probably be going now, safe trip dear brother. I love you. Bye."

Kay was between shots when one of the Talking Magpies who were guests at the inn, not having gotten the word of archery practice in progress, flew right down into what would have been the line of fire if Kay had been shooting just then, absorbed in the pursuit of an appetizing winged beetle.

Peter, meanwhile, proceeded to issue the necessary instructions to Angela, Oreius, Chipdolly, and the highest-ranking human guardsmen. Then he saw what birds were available to escort him, selected two horses, took weapons and provisions, and got underway. But whereas he had told Lucy that he would send the birds home afterward, he suddenly remembered the long-absent reconnaissance eagles, and so told his bird contingent that after seeing him to his siblings, they were to continue west in search of the eagles.
