Sir Godfrey
Pelegrin Crucis
I never said that. Sir G brought up the doom of men. I brought up the doom of elves. Stop twisting my words.
And however wise and great the elves may be at the beginning they were just like humans- and elves have longer lives so they live to make more mistakes!
Gah, the Arwenites hacked Pandora radio! Rivendell music is playing!
She speaks of Feanor and the atrocities commited over the Silmarils. For that our race doth ache and feel bitter sorrow.
Exactly my point. Humans die before they suffer such things. Therefore, it is the elves doom to live on and to not be free of their hurts like humans are.
That wasn't even her. In the book Arwen was nowhere near the ford. It was Elrond who called up the flood, because the river had been breached. Gandalf added the horses. That was a liberty taken in the movie, and may I say it was not one that I particularly liked.
Then the Edain are weak. They can't endure the hardships of the world and thus must perish.
Actually it was Frodo Baggins who chanted something in Elven that called up the Water Stallions. And yes it wasn't Arwen that came to the Ringbearer's aid, it was Glorfindel.
