The Chronicles of Narnia: The Restored Kingdom

An arument

Avalon held on tight to Caspius as to not fall off the back of the horse. When they approached Lenia she was glad to see that she was alright, or at least not badly hurt. Lenia was limping slightly, she saw that her back leg was bruised. "Lenia, what happened?"

Lenia walked over favoring her back leg, "Ask him, he kicked me!" she spat.

"Oh Lenia you must have hurt it when you ran away." Avalon said with a sigh. "Why would Caspian, I mean King Caspian, kick you?"

Lenia snorted, "Because he's not Caspian, it's the impostor!" she looked to the faun, "I've been trying to tell him but--"

Avalon shook her head, "Lenia you're just speaking out of fear. You were spooked back there and now you're just trying to cover for your weakness."

Lenia was taken aback by this comment, she starred at Avalon in disbelief. "I was spooked because that man kicked me! Don't be a fool Avalon he's tricked you." she cried.

Avalon's mouth dropped open, "You're the fool Lenia." she said quietly but firmly. Lenia, seeing that she was outnumbered in this argument backed away from them all. She turned and galloped off through the forest heading toward the castle, of course it was at a much slower pace seeing as how she was injured. Avalon watched her go and looked at Caspius and tried to put a smile on. "I'm sorry about that. I don't know what got into her." she muttered quietly.

An argument

((OOC- hey I'm sorry for double posting for some reason i couldn't see my post on my computer so I thought that it didn't get posted or something. But after I posted again it showed up. I'm sorry again.))

Deception and Rallying of Troops:

Caspius was a little unsettled as the narnian steed spoke acusations against him, but he held his tounge and allowed the arugment to go it's course. After a few more exhange of ill toned words the argument ended and Lenia cantered away. Avalon apologized for her friend's behavior and Caspius in turning said "That is quite alright.. she is just confused like the others." "Now.." said Caspius as he looked towards Folin, "Were is the nearest village?" Folin pointed straight ahead and said "Fallow this trail tell you come to the Telmar river.. once you've crossed it you'll see the Village of Archen." "I would come with you.. but I must head for the castle on an errand." Caspius griping the riens tight said "THank you for your assitance noble faun.." "I hope that we shall again meet soon.."

Folin bowed and said "You are msot welcome your highness, I am jsut glad I was to be of service.." "Aye I too hope we shall meet again soon.. prehapes when you are not in a rush I could play you a tune with my flute.." Caspius smiled and said "I would like that.." After both Caspius and Avalon had said their fair wells to Forin, Caspius took ahold of the riens again and gave his steed a swift kick. In flash the horse reared up a bit on it's hind legs and then bolted. Forin watched as The Imposter and the young lady dissapeared into the distance. The gallope through the wood was splendid and before long they reached the Telmar river. There they had the tricky lot of crossing. THe horse was nearly covered all the way to the head and both Caspius's and Avalon's legs were soaked. Finally the crossed and made their way to the other side,

Making their way through a part of Shuddering Woods, they turned to their right and headed out into the main plains of Archen. Not fair way from river itself stood a small village. It was a fine and cozy place. Smoke bellowed from cheminies and the sound of crowds could be heard even as Caspius and Avalon approached. Caspius looked little uneasy as he lead his steed into the town. The centre of the town was flooded with people buying and selling food, clothing, and other valuables. But soon the noise of bartering and talk came to a silence when the crowds saw Caspius and young lady behiend him on his now steed. The crowd stood almost motionless.. only blinking and breathing. Finally Caspius mustered the curage to speak.

"My noble and good people.. I Caspian your King hath come to your village to seek aid.." "The Castle has been taken by an Imposter.." The people suddered at this and groaned with upset. "He has poisened the minds of those close to me and seeks to take not only my life.. but my throne..
At this the people broke silence and began fussing. "I know this news is troubling.. but I need your help.." Caspius was interupted by a voice in the crowd that didn't sound quite human. "How do we know that your highness is not the Imposter and that the real king isn't the one you seek to undermine?" Caspius began to sweat a little and had trouble getting any response out. Finally he eyed his ring and said "See this ring?" THe crowd stared at it intently. "It is the signet ring.. passed down from my father and proof that I am who I say I am."

At this the crowds began to praise Caspius and bow. They said things like "Hail King Caspian X" and "Long live the King." However the voice that had questioned Caspius did not join in the praises, instead it faded away and the identity of it's origin was lost. Caspius then revealed his plan to the people and called them to arms. He told them "We will make an attempt to take back the castle with force.. but first we msut acquire greater numbers." One of the stout telmarines said "If you wish I could send my two sons to deliever a message to the naiboring villages." Caspius nodded and replied "Very good.. however.." As he paused he pulled his ring off. "You wil need to give them this to show the people.. otherwise they may not believe me to be the true king." The Telmarine took the ring and said "I shlal send it with my sons at once."

Caspius continued to explain his plan to retake the castle. He told the most learned meembers of village about the secret passagways and how they were the key to getting in. He also revealed something new in his plan that invloved using small boats to head up the Great river and aloowing them to enter the castle from underneath. "There is secret passagway through a cave at base of the rock that supports the castle from undereath.." "That is are way in.." Caspius explained the details in full, he said that small group would inflitrate through the secret passagway, make their way inside and open the main gate allowing the main army in.

Meanwhile the two messangers went from village to village rallying troops. They recited the Imposter's speech with some subtle changes and showed the signet ring as proof that they spoke the truth. Before long crowds of troops from villages all over Narnian gathered at Archen. All but one village agreed to aid the Imposter Caspius. The Village of Brickvale refused due to their small numbers and the fact that they were still recovering from the great blaze. As more and more crowds of telmarines and narnians arrived at Archen, Caspius began getting everyoen up to speed. He told them his plan several times, adding some changes with each arrival of more troops. It was before long that he had an army large enough to not only take the castle, but to also fill it.

Glenstorms Tracking

Glenstorm continued tracking them thru the woods. Since he was quite a old centaur he was familer with Ways to hide in the wood and be one step ahead or one step behind Caspious. He was wondering what he was rallying troops for. Was it a final battle staging against his highness Caspian The trails he took were always the familer ones. Glenstorm knew other ones that he could use to not be found by Caspious but still stay close.

"Starstorm must be warned that there could be a battle on but i don't want to trace my steps back That way he might know i have been shadowing him" Glenstorm thought I do hope Aslan shows up in time to stop the horrid mess and be no more bloodshed. Glenstorm fingered his sword by his belt. He stopped for a drink in the stream. He thought about the battle at the Castle siege and King Peter and Miraz duel so Caspian can be righutfully sent to where he belonged. He didin't want this all to end up in another conflct and Narnia would lose another great king.

Battlements:

Is was long before Caspius put the great numbers of telmarines and nanrians to work. In order for the siege to be sucessful they would need machines of war and weapons. Thus the forests off the Archen river were axed and carefully cut down into parts for catapalts, seiging towers, and of course boats. The scrapes were used to fuel the fires for the smiths who were busy forging swords, axes, maces, and every other craft and tool for war. Horses were gathered from around the country for calvary. A small group of them were noble talking horses that pledged their loyaity to the Imposter. All around the village of Archen you could hear the crackling noises of fire, the beating of hammers, and nawing sound of saws.

Caspius observing the craftsmen smiled. He watched as trees fell and were chopped into sall pieces and then handed to another group who chistled and hammered them into the right shape for catapaltes. The smell of roaring fires delighted Caspius as he walked by the forgeries. Telmarine's were decent smiths, but their craft could not surpass that of narnian dwarf. Infact it just so happened that dwarf had been working along side the other telmarine smiths. He was crafting a rather uniquely desigened sword. Caspius approached him and said "Hello there noble dwarf.." THe Dwarf turned and looked at Caspius while still tempering the blade. With a gruff voice he replied "Ello your majesty.." Caspius looking closely at the desiegn of the blade said "I have heard that dwarfs are master craftsmen and that your forgings are considered the best in the lands.. now I see with my own eyes that the rumors are true.."

The dwarf dipped the blade in still cold water causing the steel to hiss. The dwarf turned and replied "Your compliments are too kind your majesty.. we dwarfs just do what we have done for many an age.. we create.. we make.. that is are way.." Caspius smiled and said "Your craft is honorable one.. but may I ask who is the that incompete spectical of blade for?" The Dwarf smiled causing his red beard to raise up with his chin. "Why it's for you your highness of course.." Caspius smiled and said "But I already have a sword.."
The Dwarf bellowed with hearty laugh "Yes but not one like this.." "Telmarine swords are not ment to last and will break.. but a Narnian made sword will neither break nor rust and it will last forever.." "For we dwarves know are craft and have perfected it over many an age.."

Caspius smiled and said "very well I will accept this token..once you've finished it and bare it with honor and grace.." The Dwarf bowed and said "I shall have it finished before the evening and I will presented it to you as soon as it has been perfected.." Caspius nodded slightly and said "I shall leave you to your craft then.." The Dwarf bowed and Caspius with a smile turned to observe the rest of the battlements, but before he took three steps he turned and asked "Forgive me.. but what is your name master smith?" THe Dwarf turned holidng a hammer in his hand and replied "Forg'in,, your Majesty.." Caspius smiled and then turned and went to observe the rest of the battlements.

A Sword fit for King:

Later in the day while Caspius sat inside his tents gonig over papers and looknig at maps the dwarf Forg'in entered with something long vertically wrapped in his hands. He took a bow before Caspius and said with smile "It is finished.. your highness" Caspius rose to his feet looking rather excited. He approached the dwarf and stop infront of him. Forg'in took the wrapping off and revealed an elegeant blade. The shape was not like the shape of standard Telmarine sword. It was more like a long sword than a rapier. From the pommel to the hilt is shined like pearly silver interlade with a Topaz like blue on the handle. Caspius took ahold of the fine crafted sword and began examining it. The blade was so clear like a crystal that you could almost see through it. It was a most unusal sword indeed, but magnifcant nonetheless. Caspius had never seen such fine crafsmanship nor had he seen such dazzling blade before.

Holding it outward in a stance he felt the fine leather of the handle. It was perfected as if it molded to his hand. It was also light and felt like feather when he swung it. Caspius turned to Forg'in who said "I hope that you approve your majesty.." Caspius nodded and said "I approve.. it is a blade beyond compare.. it is masterpiece of craftmanship." "I most humbly accept it and thank you for your indulgance in crafting it.." Forg'in bowed lsightly and with smeark he said "It was no trouble at all your highness.. I had longed to make sword of great beauty and exellence that would be bared by a king.." "So in truth I thank you.. my king.. for you have fullfilled my dream.." Caspius still dazzled by the blade said "When this war is over and the castle is retaken and the Imposter dealt with.. you shall have a fine new forgery among my courts.." The dwarf becane pale and raher overwhelmed. After a great gasp he said "You are too kind my king.. too kind.. I doth not deserve such a reward.. your thanks is enough."

Caspius smiled and said "Then take the gift and the thanks together my dwarf friend.." Forg'in bowed again and said "Thank you. .thank you so much your majesty.." Caspius taking the sccubard sheathed the sword and ushered the dwarf stay awhile. caspius had a late brunch be brought to his tent. There was fine meats such as ham, wonderfully fresh pciked vegatables of all sorts, bread so filling that it could be a meal, roasted nuts, fresh fruit and fine wine to drink it all down with.

Return and Troubled

Lenia rushed back to the Castle to warn the King and the others about the impostor. The whole time she kept running what Avalon had said to her through her mind. Avalon was young and naive, Lenia couldn't blame it all on her. But the things she said and insinuated hurt Lenia. When she finally reached the castle, her back leg was throbbing and looked even worse than it did before. She hobbled into the stable and decided to rest for a bit, she couldn't focus her leg was hurting her just that bad. Perhaps she shouldn't have put so much pressure on it by galloping all the way back to the castle.

Meanwhile.....

Avalon watched as Caspius spoke with the dwarf. She though back to what Lenia had said, about him being the impostor. But everyone else believed him to be the King, and he acted like a King. So by simple logic, it had to be him. Avalon pushed the voice of Lenia out of her head, they had only known each other for n more than three days and here she was letting the voice of some Narnian work its way into her mind. They were, after all, the reason all of her friends left.

She drew in a deep breath and let it out, she wandered around the battlements wondering what she had gotten herself into. Avalon picked up a flower from the ground and plucked the petals off one by one and threw them to the ground as she walked. When she came back to her tent she took a seat outside the flap and watched everyone go about their business. The flower was now nothing but a stem which she tore into five pieces and threw out in front of her. Avalon sighed, still letting Lenia's words trouble her.

The King's Speech and the Eight Knights of Telmar:

Meanwhile back at the castle, King Caspian and Lord Drinian was adressing the gaurd. Caspian explained his plan to close all the gates into the castle, save the eastern one. He explained his plan to trap the Imposter and the other Narnians and Telmarines serving him. He also took note of and ordered a small unit of the gaurd to close up the hidden passageways and post one or two gaurds at each. This was quite a task to undertake, for there were many hidden passageways. In the end it was decided to just barracade and bolt shut most of them passageways. Caspian then turned his attention to the gaurd itself. He stood up and looked at a small number of about fifty men. The Rest of the gaurd was busy fortifying the castle and obeying the King's orders.

Caspian stepping down from his throne said with a sigh "I will not lie to you.. my noble country men.." "We have a diffcult time ahead of us.." "Spies have told me that as we speak.. the Imposter has rallied a majority of villagers to his side.." "He has poisened their minds and made them his loyal servants.." "The number of his army has grown by the thousands.." "This army is not comprised of traitors or even a common enemy.. it is comprised of our friends.. our comrades.. are people." "They will not hesitate to har many of us.. for they believe us to be villans.. they believe us to be the traitors.." "So I warn you.. if you hesitate.. you will die.. they will kill you without a thought.." Caspian's face became ever grim as he continued. "Thus you must hold steady and defend yourselves.. you must fight back."

"I know it will not be easy.. I myself fear that I shall not be able to draw my blade.. nonetheless use it to shed blood.." "But in dark time like these.. we must be steady and do what is required.. we msut put aside are emotions,, are feelings and do what is right and just.. no matter how painful it maybe." "We must stay true to ourselves and to each other.. We must obey the will of Aslan and fight to keep what is ours!" " I assure you.. that I hold all of you asteamed and that I am willing to fight and die among you.. on the battlefield!" The Gaurds and soldiers cheered raising their spears and hands. Caspian then in conclusion said "Now my good and loyal people.. prepare for battle.. prepare for death.. but most of all prepare yourselves to fight!"

The men cheered again and then after a few mroe words said exited the throne room. Caspian took his seat again and hand over his brow. His eyes looked downcast and his expression grim. TheL ord Drinian approached Caspian and said "That was a good speech.. my king." Caspian looked up at Drinian and said "Do you think it convinced anyone?" Drinian smiled and said "It convinced me your majesty.." Caspian chuckled and said "Good.. because it didn't convince me.." Caspian sighed and continued. "I fear that I have become a king just like Miraz.. ready to shed Narnian blood.." Drinian rebuked Caspian. "Don't say such things my king.. you are nothing like Miraz.." "You love your people.. both Narnian and Telmarine alike.." "You have made just decisions and proved that you are rightfully worthy of the throne.."

Caspian smiled and stood up putting his hand on Drinian's shoulder. "Thank you Drinian.. your words are encouraging.. you are truly a good friend.." Drinan put his hand on Caspian's shoulder replied "And you are both a good friend and king your Caspian.." Caspian smiled and looked at Drinian with funny expression. Drinian perplexed asked "What is it your majesty?" "Why do you smile so?" Caspian replied "That is the first time you've adressed me so informally and called me by my true name." Drinian apologized and said "Forgive me your majesty.. I meant not to.." Caspian interupted and said "It's alright.. I actually enjoyed hearing my name for once.. without a title." Drinian stood silent. Suddenly the door to the throne room was opened and in marched in several mice and a couple of Telmarines.

Leading the army of mice was rather stout mouse with a red feather around his left ear. He stood on his hind legs, holding his hilt. With ornate bow he addressed the king. "Your Majesty.. forgive are intrusion.. but I and my knights have come before thee to request of thou humble ordiance that we be put on the frontlines.." Caspian smiled and said "Noble Reepicheep.. and noble knights.. I welcome thee" "I shall grant your request.. with one condition.." Reepicheep inquired "What condition would that be your majesty?" Caspian with pause responded "That some gaurds acompany you.." Reepicheep sighed and replied "But my king.. we are knights.. we have the right to charge into battle first.." "I do not think it fair to have gaurds join us in the first charge.." The Lord Drinian leaned over to Caspian and said "He does make a point.. traditionally calvary would be first into battle.."

Caspian nodded and said "Very well.. then I shall have to make remidy of that." Caspian looked at the several Telmarines behiend the mice. There were eight total and their ages ranged from young to older. "You eight.. step foward" said Caspian pointing at them. The Telmarines men stepped foward and bowed. Caspian looking at them and seeing the gap in age between them all said sternly "You eight shall have to great privlege of becoming knights.." Drinian looked at Caspian with shocked expression and Reepicheep bit his tounge from saying something foolish. The Eight Telmarines shook a little and looked bewildered by the King's choice. One spoke up "My king.. you honor us to greatly.. we are not worthy.." It was the youngest who had spoke up and the rest through non-verbal signs showed that they agree.

Caspian smiled and said "You are not nobody.. you are kindsmen and you have be given a thsi honor by my decree.." "Now.. step foward.." Caspian unsheathed his sword. Each of the eight intoduced themselves and were knighted. Here are their names from oldest to youngest: Glindel, Meskel, Emlik, Glozzel, Raphael, Dontess, Godfrey, and Balin. After they had all arisen, Caspian turned back to Reepicheep and said "There.. now you won't be charging into battle with gaurds.. but instead with noble knights.." Reepicheep eyed Caspian and said with little bit of contempt "Fine.. but don't expect me to get along with them.." Reepicheep then with a bow turned and lead his knights out of the throne room. Reep eyed the newly dubbed knights as he exited last out of throne room.

Caspian looking at the Eight, as they are called and bid them leave. The Eight existed with both astonishment on their faces and joy. They had recieved a great honor and now there aim was to prove they were worthy of it.

Starstorms resolve

Starstrom was getting restless she saw her dad on his way thru one of the smaller paths that were hidden she dobuled back and ran to meet him. The impostor is setting up a trap i just get the feeling he is. Father we have to stop him i am not going to let him have any more bloodshed Caspian is going to sent them to the eastern gate we can stop the imposter from donig any more damage. we can mow down some of his army before it reaches this wood.

Glenstorm nodded its a good idea. My daughter its worse Capious is setting up a army with all the tools falling trees. The woods are crying as they did before the kings and queens of old returned he is planning a attack. I watch the stars doom is in sight just like what you saw.

Dad we can't stand by and let CAspious destroy what his highness faught for and summoned the kings and queens to do. IT time to act on what we pledged Caspian we would do when he and Drinien joined us for some dinner.

Caspius' Army Begins to Mobilze:

Back at Caspius' camp, the battlements had calmed and the war machines were ready. Caspius came out of his tent welcoming the new day. He imediately approched a group of Telmaries that were attending to the catapalts. After examing them a while Caspius gave them the go ahead to move them into postion and prepare them for travel. The group of telmarines imedatly started take the small peices of the towering catapalts off and began with many strong hands pushing them towards the northern side of the camp. Caspius made his way to canopy were he found several Telamarine lords and a few dwarfs conversing. As Caspius entered they became silent and bowed slightly.

Caspius took his postion infront of them and began to speak. "My noble lords and noble dwarves.. the hour has finally come.." "The battlements have finished their work and we can now commence are plans to retake the castle.." A few cheers came from numerious lords and dwarves. As Caspius continued several noble centaurs entered the canopy along with other Narnians to hear him speak. "I am ordering the first few regements get outfited and equiped to march at once.." "I also want the the boats prepared for second party.." As Caspius continued several memebers of the group cheered repeatedly, while some looked grave and troubled. "By nightfall we shall reach the fields of Baruna.. and by morning we shall lay seige to the castle.."

"Meanwhile the second party will have infiltrated the castle and opened the main gate.." "From that gate we shall pour in and slaughter the unfaithful and crush this Imposter!" Caspius raised his hand as he said this in militant way and the rest of the Telmarine lords and Narnians cheered. Caspius ushering his hands for them to be silent said "So now.. my people prepare for battle!" Another wave of cheers came and Caspius took a seat on wooden chair and comessioned the troops to be armed and to moblize. The boats on the Archen river were filled with assortment of Telmarines and Narnians fitted with light armor. The first regments were geared up and ready within an hour's time. Caspius gave the order and the boats set sail on the river up stream. The swarves and telmarine men took to their oars and powered the boats foward.

The First few regements began marching up the trails through the wood. Meanwhile Caspius was gearing up and ordering men to and fro to make preperations for next few regements. Caspius was outfited with a strong golden armor that shined bright like the sun. He held a helmet that had been sought for and smuggled from the castle. It was none other than the very helmet worn by Miraz the Terrible. Caspius looked at the mask and held it close to his face. He then uttered "Soon father.. you shall be avenged.." And with a glaring look Caspius concluded with "And I shall be king.." Finally after strapping his newely forged blade to belt.. Caspius exited his tent and walked out into middle of the camp. Only forelong away from him was severla mounted Telmarine lords and a few Centaurs. Among them was steed so white that it looked like snow.

Caspius approched the noble horse and putting his foot in stirrup mounted the steed. The Telmarine Lords and Centaurs gave slight bows to the Imposter and after a pause Caspius lifted the golden helmet of his father and put it on. Then grapping ahold of the riens he coaxed the horse foward. In single file the Telmarine lords fallowed him, with the Centaurs bringing up the rear. Alas Caspius The Imposter and his fallowers now ride out to wage war against the true king and his subjects...

Starstrom rallies the Narnians

Starstorm looked at her dad. " Lets rally some of the true narnians and some of our fellow centaurs we should head the army off before it reached the castle they will hit beruna woods first

Glenstrom blew his horn rallying some of the centaurs. "we should see if we can find any true narnians in the woods go my daughter. See what you can find.

Starstorm nodded at her dad. She ran ahead see if she can scout out any true Narnainas ,dwarves , Satyrs, badgers Big cats, Fauns anything she can find His highness Caspian should need all the help he can get. Starstorm thought.

She started thru the woods toward Brickvale she arrived there one of the townspeople stopped and looked at her.

"Who are you ?"

"My Name is Starstorm one of the Centaurs loyal to his highness Caspian there is going to be a war on and Caspian needs all the allies you can give him. He was the one that helped save your village when it was on fire he was the young man that helped you. He has very few loyalists a few Centaurs and Few Badgers and dwarves but the impostor has all of Narnia fooled thinking he is the king. " Starstorm rested her hand on her sword hilt. I pose no threat r to you I just ask where do your loyalties lie.

Trumpkin Seeks the Truth:

Many days prior...

The Lord Trumpkin began his search for the truth. He began asking many courtiers and servants in castle about the Lord Valorim. At last he learned that the Lord Valorim had been sent away in search of the Lord Drinian. However Trumpkin learned from others that he actually had been banished from the castle for offending the king. Trumpkin not sparing any time to lose, set out for the last known place the Lord Valorim had been seen. He crossed miles of plains and searched several villages asking for his werabouts. At last he got a lead from vilalger that a man fitting Lord Valorim's desription was heading north for lands of Ettinsmoor.

Trumpkin continued in prusuit heading northward. After nearly two days he reached the moutains of Ettinsmoor. There he climbed the massive peaks in hope of find the Lord Valorim over them in land of Ettinmoor. Whiel he was climbing he lost his grip and fell for distance. His tunic got caught on sharp edge of moutain and hanging above the vasteness below Trumpkin tried to reach for the cliff. But before he had gotten a good grip his tunic tore and he fell. Again he grabbed ahodl of an edge and were he held on for all his might. Suddwenly he saw that he wasn't just hanging on to edge of cliff, but that it was the edge fo a tunnel in the moutain. As he hung on he head thep itter patter of feet and the rumble of tiney rocks. Suddenly a hand was lowered to Trumpkin. Trumpkin looked up and saw that it was blakc dwarf.

Trumpkin took his hand was drawn up. Falling upon the rockey ledge Trumpkin gasped and took deep breaths. The Black dwarf stood while Trumpkin caught his breath with look of distrust (which isn't rare among black dwarfs). Finally the Black Dwarf spoke "What is red dwarf.. doing climbing among the moutains of Ettinsmoor?" Trumpkin took another gasp of air and replied "I have come in search of somone.." The Black Dwarf glinted and asked "Whom do you seek?" Trumpkin paused and then said with great trouble "A Telmarine lord.. by the name of Valorim" Suddenly the eyes of Black Dwarf flared and he began to draw his sword that hugn from his side. Trumpkin putting his hands up said "There's no need for that.. I was not sent by the king.." The Black Dwarf still unstheathed his blade and said "How do I know your not lieng?"

Trumpkin replied "You don't.. but I will say that I must have counsel with Lord Valorim.." "It is of the utter most importance.." THe Black Dwarf eyed Trumpkin intently and said "I will take you to him.. but don't try any funny stuff" Trumpkin out of good faith relenquished his sword and fallowed the Black Dwarf. They traveled into deep tunnels that lead to caverns throughout the mountains/ At last they reach a well lite cavern that was filled with dwarfs hard at working forging and digging. There were some other Narnians too whom seemed to be gather in the center of cavern. Then Trumpkin at last saw the familar face he had been searching for. The Lord Valorim was busy talking with a centaur and two badgers when the Black Dwarf approached.

With a bow the Black Dwarf spouted "I found this lot hanging off the cliff at the edge of one of the tunnels." The Black Dwarf even said under his brreath "And If I had had it my way I would have push him off.." The Lord Valorim's attention turned to the red dwarf and said with a bright smile on his face "Lord Trumpkin.. what by the Lion's mane are you doing out here?" Trumpkin stepped foward and said "I have come far to the nothern lands.. looknig for you my lord.." Valorim responded with a perplexed expression on his face "You have come searching for me?" Trumpkin nodded "Yes.. I came to seek urgent counsel with your lordship.." The Black Dwarf interjected "I don't trust him.. he could be a spy or worse an assassion.." Valorim spoke to the Black Dwarf "Hush Grindel.. Trumpkin is servant of the King and a honest dwarf.." "I will hear him out.."

Both Valorim and Trumpkin retreated in a hidden chamber were Trumpkin told Valorim all he had shared at the secret meeting. After a long pause the Lord Valorim said "Well.. though this news is troubling.. I art glade.." "To know there are others who thought the king's behavior peculiar." After a long pause Trumpkin asked the question that had been on his mind. "Why were you banished?" Valorim turned his gaze to Trumpkin and said "I'm not quite sure myself.." "After I questioned the King in a session of council.. I was approached by two gaurds who told me I was hence banished from the castle by King's decree" "But I was to address the people and tell them I was leaving to find the Lord Drinian." Trumpkin pondered this a while and then uttered "Well this is indeed distubing.. but it seems to prove what I have feared"

"The King is either mad or he is nto thek ing at all." Valorim noded and replied "That is what conculsion I have come to as well.." "However I lean towards the latter" "For the Knig was right in mind when he left with the Lord Drinian." "So the only explanation would be that he either became enchanted by a spell or he is indeed not the king.." "But an Imposter.." Trumpkin nodded and uttered "Yes.. but if that is so.. then were is are true king?" Valorim rose to his feet and said "That is a good question" "We shall have to seek out the answer at once.." Trumpkin nodded and said "Together.." Valorim smiled and replied "Yes.. together.." Trumpkin and the Lord Valorim continued in their conversation for a while. The Lord Valorim revealed that he had sought refuge in the northern mountains with a group of Black dwarves. He was hoping to gain their allegiance to go and search for the Lord Drinian.

However The Lord Valorim explained that black dwarves can be very stubborn and very distrusting. So the Lord Valorim explained theat he had to earn their trust and warn them of his fears. Valorim then shared that he had been sucessful in attempts to make some of the dwarves trust him.. but that he still had many more including Glindel to convince.

Glenstroms and Starstorms serch

Glenstorm saw some centaurs gather around him He raised his voice to the other centaurs around.

"Friends and Brothers we are in a grave situation The impostor is going to lay siege to the Castle and there is battle on the horizon. Before he sieges the castle. Now go and meet me back here in the Beruna wood this will be our fall back place the woods are friendly to us.

The other Centaurs went on a search.

Meanwhile in Brickvale

Lady Centaur you will have our honer and we will help save and help our King we will come to your side. We still owe him alot for helping fight our fire and put it out. Our loyalities lie with the true king.

Starstorm nodded to the mayor of Brickvale " Thank you Sir. Now i must be going to rally more troops

A Meeting Among the Moutains:

High above in the peaks of the moutains the Lord Valorim and Trumpkin had been busy convincing the Black Dwarves to rally to their side and fight the Imposter. All but an elect group had agreed to aid the Lord Valorim and Trumpkin. Among these elect group was Glendil the distrusting dwarf. The Lord Valorim explained what he had told al ltheo ther dwarves about the Imposter. When he had finished Glendil huffed and spouted "What consern is it of ours?" "If the king is in peril.. that is his problem" At this Trumpkin raised his voice in rage "You black dwarves are all alike always thinking of only yourselves!" Glendil and ten other black dwarves quickly unsheathed their swords and began rebuking Trumpkin.

The lord Valorim stood between them and said "Enough! This is getting us nowhere.." He then turned to Glendil and the other black dwarves who hadn't yet stayed their blades. Looking Glendil sqaure in the eye Valorim said "Your kind have been renown for being valiant warriors and great smiths.." The Black dwarves noded their heads and seemed to be listening. "However.. your people have also been remembered for their treachery.. for the time that you aided the White Witch thousands of years ago" To this Glendil spoke up "And we would gladly do it again!" The other black dwarves cheered. Valorim shook his head and said "Do you really mean that my friend?" "Would you really fufill the same folly as your ancenstors?" At this the Black Dwarves were silent.

"Would you prefer to be ruled by fear or by love?" asked Valorim. Glendil interupted again. "We would prefer to not be ruled by anyone!" At this the rest of the black dwarves did not cheer. Glendil looked behiend him and saw that his comrades were actaully paying attention very intently to the Lord Valorim's words. Valorim said "It seems your party does not agree with you sir Glendil." "Now.. were was I.. ah yes" "So now I offer you most noble dwarves the chance to make right again what was wronged so long ago by your ancenstors.." "I give you a chance to redeem your kin and restore the name of the black dwarves" "So fight for me.. fight for the true King and history will remember you not as traitors.. but as loyal subjects to the king.." At this the dwarves were convinced and pledged their allegiance to the King and the Lord Valorim.

Afterwards Trumpkin made his way to the base of the mountain were he stepped out onto the soft soil and grass. There he lute the soft breeze of the wind grace his face. As he stood there he heard the sound of hooves. Panning his gaze across the plain.. he saw in the distance what looked like a horse approaching. But as it drew closer he realized it wasn't a horse.. but a centaur. Trumpkin turned back into the cavern and warned the others. He then turning back to face the approaching centaur.. stood perfectly still with his hand upon the hilt of his sword.

STarstorm approched the mountains She drew her sword and held it at her side when she saw a small round figure standing there. She walked up to him

"Starstorm Daughter of Glenstorm here to seek your help Noble dwarf. I am seeking Aid for King Caspian he needs help the Castle is going to be sieged."

Back at Beruna Wood

Glenstorom was able to find a few badgers and dwarves that were still on Caspian the true kings side The other Centaurs were able to pull a few mice and Cheetahs and leopards and a few other Talking beasts.

Glenstorm looked at the others MY brothers we are going to move towards the castle as Soon as my daughter gets back with more help.

The King's Subjects Gather:

Trumpkin took his hand of the hilt of his sword and said "Welcome Starstorm.. you have come to the right place.." "Many of those who are loyal to the king have sough haven here in nothern mountains" Usher his hand towards the chasm in the moutain Trumpkin said "Come this way.. all will be explained.." Trumpkin lead Starstorm inside the tunnel. After traversing about a qauter of mile they reached large cavern filled with dwarves. Trumpkin went ahead of Starstorm and approached Lord Valorim. He whispered something in his ear that caused Valorim to turn his gaze upon Starstorm. Stepping foward the Lord Valorim said "Welcome noble centauress.. I am the Lord Valorim" "My friend here tells me you seek aid,," "He says you come to rally troops for the king.."

"I must however ask for your indulgance.." "You see we must know that you come from the true king.." "We have become aware of an Imposter and cannot risk falling into alliance with him.." The Lord Valorim paused waiting for the centauress to respond. Many of the dwarves eyes were fixed on her.. waiting for her to speak. Had Starstorm not been centaur and well trained swordsman I imagine it would have been a little unsettling.

Starstorm lowered her sword and put it back in her sheath "Ask me anything you wish I will give you a answer. I guard the Beruna woods and my father was a true friend of the King he helped with the Siege of the Castle when the high kings and queens of old came to help.

I guard the king from perils that is why i am trying to rally some more troops to Caspian's side We have Brickvale which is on Caspian's side My dad is rallying more troops to the cause as well.

I am here to tell you by my counsel and by the council of the lion i am on your side. "

On the Brink of Battle:

Valorim stood silent as he listend to the centaur's words. When she had finished he smiled and said "THen by the Lion's mane we shall come to aid the king!" Valorim turned to the dwarves adn said "Come.. now is the time.. gather your axes.. your armor and all provisions you need" "For we march for the castle and to battle!" The Dwarves lfited their weapons and cheered. In no time the dwarves hurried and began gathering everything from axes, swords, and daggers to provisions like bread, wine, and other trifles they held dear. Valorim turned again to Starstorm and said "We shall be ready to depart soon.." "I suggest you warn anyone else who is loyal to the king.. to rally and meet us in Shuddering woods" "There we will wait for your return"

Valorim with solemn bow turned and headed to back of the cavern were he disspeared in the shadows. Trumpkin remained and spoke after a breif silence "I guess their is no avioding it now.." "We shall be plundged into battle again" Trumpkin spoke these words with grief and a downcast look. He knew full well as Starstorm that they won't just be fighting Telmarines.. but also kindred Narnians. The fields and courts would once again be stained with blood. Blood that would sink deep in the stones and remain for all the ages to come...

The Night Before The Dawn of Battle:

As the sun began to set the boats upon the Archen river continued to make their way up stream. The dwarves and telmarines took turns using the paddles. They could see in the distance the sparkling castle. This made them resolve to row even faster causing the boats to glide strongly acorss the stream. The sun began to set when at last they reached the Great River which would lead them to boughs of the castle.

Meanwhile Caspius lead his calvary and first regements of infantry onward. They marched into the night and crossed the river into Baruna. It was treacherious crossing the river, many horsemen were sweep away and some infantry had to be rescued. Alas they made it across and made their way into the Woods of Burna were they stopped and set up camp for the night. Caspius dismounted and retreated to his tent which had already been set up. Inside he took off his armor and slipped into some more comfertoable clothes. Once he and the troosp had rested a while, he was served dinner. It was fine meal composed of fresh fruits, lean meat, some wine, and a creamy dessert to refresh the palit. Caspius sat alone in candle light, he began to go over his plan and what he would do after he had crushed Caspian and taken the throne.

He pained him when he thought about all the decisions he would have to make as king. He was already weary from pretending to be the king, he couldn't imagine how much more stressful it would to actaully be the king. These doubts and feelings began to overwhelm Caspius and as he dwelt on them he heard voice in the back of his mind. A soft voice that was faint but mesmirizing. Suddely it grew into a thought. Caspius began to think 'Maybe I'm going about this wrong..' 'Maybe I should forget about the throne and revenge.." But this thought was quickly discarded by others. 'I cannot.. It's too late.. I'm in to deep' Then a rage overcame Caspius and he spouted "No I cannot faulter.. I must avenge my father and take what is rightfully mine!" With these words the former thoughts and doubts faded.

Outside the camp was lively with soldiers sharing stories over camp fires. Many of them told tells about the timee when Caspian IX fought the Giants and when the Kings and Queens of Old returned to battle the Usuper Miraz. The Telmarines and Narnians seemed to get along quite well, they both shared their laughs and even danced together around the fire. The Fauns played their flutes which put many soldiers to sleep. The night was indeed full of merriment.
