Under the light that Acela had created, Arcturus now really saw Destiny for the first time and realized she was very beautiful. He was not surprised anymore as to why this lady held such an attraction. He just knew he had to talk to her.

"I should be glad to make further acquaintance, Your Highness, if you don't mind, of course."

"No, I don't mind." Destiny shook her head making her brown curls swish around her head. "Please, you can call me Destiny."

She saw by Acela's light that Arcturus was very good looking which made her blush even more under his stare.

"Gladly, your Ma... Destiny," he said blushing.
"Do you mind if we move away from the others for a moment and talk? There is something I must tell you."

"I was standing at the bannister after my coronation [she got a nicer crown] and I just fealt something calling to me. Calling my name. IT was like a whisper." Destiny explained somewhat confused.

"I heard my name in thunder, can you believe that? And rain. Thunder and rain. It was something extraordinary. I did not know where the voice had come from at the beginning, but I felt compelled to answer to the clouds which were faraway."

"People were called different ways. You were called by your powers [somewhat], I was called in just a whisper." Destiny looked up at him. She almost had to look straight up he was so tall. "We need to know who called us and why don't we?" She asked him.

"Yes, we do. But let me tell you something strange that my mother told me when I left."

He paused for a moment to make sure Destiny was relaxed. I was not sure if he need to tell her this, but he felt compelled to do it. He would probably sound like a fool, but he did it anyway.

"The day I left, I asked my mother if she knew who had called me. And she said she did. She said it was my destiny." He said that last sentence quickly for fear it would not come.

Destiny was surprised. "But how did she know that?" She asked.

She seemed to go away in thought for a moment. "I didn't say goodbye to my parents the day I left. I know they wouldn't have let me come. My guard, Flame, is the only who know's I'm gone. Well, who knew I was. I am surprised they haven't found me yet." She said all of this in a whisper.

"I don't know how my mother knew that, the first time I saw you conjure up that wall of fire at the restaurant, somehow I felt as if you had called me."

At this, he did not know how Destiny would react. He felt an immense blushing but he added.

"And it's not because of your beauty, Destiny, although that alone would have been a powerful call for me."

"I am sorry if this is making you uncomfortable."

Destiny blushed deeply. "It is quite allright. But I can assure you I did not call you. That is odd though." She blushed even more about his beauty comment she wanted to say something back but she couldn't.

"The point is, Destiny, I would be very happy if you'd let me at least stay near you. Such powerful Princess as yourself hardly needs any protection, but that is not what I am offering."

He stared at her deep sky-blue eyes and for the second time since he had met her (the first time was at the restaurant), he thought his heart skipped a beat.

"I would like to offer you companionship, and I would welcome the chance to talk to you more. Mind you, I don't have much to offer you, poor farmer's son as I am, but I pledge my honor to Your Majesty, and..."

"Stop." Destiny pressed her fingers lightly to his mouth. "I would love for you to be my...companion." She curtsied to him.

He bowed low, even if a little clumsy.

"Thank you, Destiny," he said with a big smile of relief.

He said "Thank you" but what he really wanted to do was shout and scream for joy. It was an exhilarating feeling he had never experienced before. His heart skipped many beats now, he was sure. It took a big effort for him to contain himself. They were silent for a while. Then, Arcturus finished, in a quiet but happy voice, what he was going to say before...

"...and my heart."

Destiny smiled once again at the young man. "I am glad I have someone such as you as a companion,Sir." Her blue eyes sparkled. She tried to keep from hugging him.

Destiny fealt the fire inside her heart burning, reflecting in her ember eyes.

Leila overheard them talking. She rolled her eyes at the obvious flirting. It wasn't that she minded that they liked each other, she just wished they would stop with the mushy talk. Where she came from, courtship was less mushy and more...serious than what she was hearing now.
"I hate to interupt," she said to both of them, giving a smile, "but we should focus on this little escapade we're on. The castle is very near."

"Thank you, Destiny."

He took her hand and kissed it.

"I am happy today, and it is such happiness as I have never experienced since I was a little boy, playing in woods and with no cares in the world."

He stared at her eyes that sparkled like the morning star and added:

"And it's all because of you."
