Who Do You Want To Be The Voice Of Aslan?/ Brian Cox is the voice of Aslan!!!

yes yes, james earl jones...hmmm... maybe? or vin deisel heh heh, his voice is deep, young, and mysterious, eh. sean connery wouldn't be that bad i suppose... ooh, jim caviesel would be interesting, but it's probably not deep enough, but it is nice... jk jk. let's see here................... i'll find someone later.... who's christopher lee again?

The latest rumour is that Sean Connery is trying to get involved with the project. Just a rumour mind you. He's trying to get what he missed out on by passing up Matrix and LotR.

I don't know if Aslan would be Scotish...but it's *Sean Connery*...so I'd enjoy it....

lol, maybe Sean Connery can fake a different accent. THAT would be different.

...I mean, Elijah Wood, Viggo Mortensen and lots of others faked their accents in LotR. It would be weird hearing Sean Connery's iconic voice somewhat altered immitating another accent. I can't imagine this happening.

My top choices for the role of Aslan would be James Earl Jones (it would be interesting to hear someone who has done one of the ultimate villain voices in cinematic history do someone who may become one of the ultimate hero voices in cinematic history), Christopher Lee, or possibly even Sean Connery. I really can imagine him pulling it off.

Sort of off topic, but wouldn't it be cool if Frank Oz did someone? I mean, the legendary "Muppet" voice of Yoda, Fozzie, Miss Piggy, Animal, Grover, etc. doing some Narnian animal would be classic! I could see him doing one of the animals like Shift or Puzzle.

ooh! Frank Oz as Shift! *That* would be something!

I think James Earl Jones actually has the perfect voice for Aslan, unfortunatly seeing him when I was young in 'The Lion King' (don't judge me.... ) I had the feeling I might break out into fits of laugher at the most inopertune times in the movie with my brother leaning over and saying 'Avenge my death Simba' not to mention the other brothing saying 'Luke, I am your father!' While a third one makes some crack about CNN.

*sigh*

But then again, I guess that wouldn't be a problem for other people, as you don't have to see the movie with my family. :D

Hmm, so what about this new rumor, huh? The idea that Sean Connery might actually be the voice of Aslan? That is funny, considering so many of us named him way back in the beginning.
Graycloak, I always see movies with my sisters, but I think that our crazy comments to each other are the best parts of the experience (except when it gets us kicked out of the theater... )

Christopher Lee is most well known in the newer generation as Saruman in LOTR and Count Dooku (sp?) in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

Gee hope my brothers didn't read that the wrong way...I love seeing the movie with them, in fact I always have to sit next to my dad when I see movies I like just so we can pass our comments back and forth. (I don't know if anyone here ever watched MST3K, but we immulate them when watching stuff) I just don't need to give them ammunition is all.... :D

oops, I took stuff off topic so...Who Do You Want To Be The Voice Of Aslan?

i think shean connery would be splended as the voice of king aslan, but, he doesnt sem THAT old in my head, fo, someone alittlebit younger? liked the voice he had on the tv-series

I really hope that no one from LOTR does the voice- it would be a crime. There are two kinds of people in this world- Tolkienists and Lewis-ians.
Sorry, but im a big CON fan- i even legally changed my name to Lucy.

The only reason I love Arda more than Narnia is because Tolkien gave his world a deeper history. Otherwise, I would love Narnia more. Hey, talking animals? How fun can it get?

P.S. You left a third group out. True, there are "Tolkienists" and "Lewis-ians"; but there are also those who sadly avoid both. :(

 I wonder what Tolkien and Lewis would think of that, considering that they seemed to see each other as part of the same group.
I have read the Lord of the Rings more times than any other book, but I've studied almost all of Lewis' works extensively, and I haven't even read a lot of Tolkien's other works. I've loved both authors since childhood. If we must somehow divide their followers, I wonder where I would go?
(However, I do agree that it would probably not be a good idea to use the voice of anyone from LOTR. My reason has nothing to do with Tolkien vs. Lewis. Those actors weren't chosen by Tolkien, so I don't see what that has to do with it...)

That's not fair, I'm both a Lewis and a Tolkien fan! True, since childhood I have become more a 'Middle Earth' lover (My friends and I coined the phrase 'Tolkienite') but CON were my first love in literature, and they will always be dear to me. (I read my first when I was six or seven after my dad read them to me) I have only migrated more towards LOTR because-as Rhindon said-Tolkien gave a deeper mythology, but then again his books were not directed at children. (save of course the Hobbit)

I think the voice of Gimli/Treebeard(I know the actor's name, but can't remember right now) would be perfect. He's young, deep voiced, and growly. Perfect. Plus, he's great at doing voices of computer generated characters, e.g. Treebeard.

Hey everyone, I'm new!
I really have to say that Sean Connery is a good idea, but there's one small thing about that. When I first read the books (just this summer, boy, I'm REALLY new) I always imagined Bree from The Horse and His Boy with the voice of Connery. I really like the Lawerence Fishbourne idea I saw earlier, though.

I could see him as the voice for Bree; but not Aslan. I just hope that when they do Bree they incorporate a horses grunts with the voice. And maybe when he yells it's partly a man's voice but mostly a horses whinney.

P.S. Welcome to the forums Bigger/Older.
P.P.S. How tall are you?
