"Why the hell should I care about glucose level? All I know is the *bleep* thing wants to eat me!" He kicked the wall. When he had calmed down, he turned to the super-human girl.
"Look," he said calmly, "What does blood-pattern have to do with anything?"

Jade smiled wryly, "The blood pattern tells us if it is prone to any diseases. If so we can use this," she pulled out a glass and steel gun with glass bullets, "we can program the bile inside to be whatever disease the monster is prone to. We can cause massive deaths within its community. It wont be able to spread to us, just them. The gluclose count is for this," she pulled out a tiny blue metal sphere, "it attacks the gluclose levels to weaken or instantly kill the monster. But, however, I dont even know if this monster has gluclose levels. So we need to get moving and see if we get to see one."

"Sorry, I only speak English. Care to try again?" He raised an eyebrow at the girl, "And don't act like I'm an idiot because I have no idea what you're talking about. I grew up in a cage, cut me some slack."

No monsters were forthcoming in the time it took for Vissarion to find the way back to the easier of his two exits. "It's possible," he said to Jade, "that some of them were actually nearby in an ethereal state, _listening_ to your explanation of that weapon, and so are avoiding us now for fear of it."

Reaching the window, Vissarion lowered Ivan to the ground, then sprang out himself. He placed himself where he _could_ assist Jade if she asked him to, but not where he would seem to be _assuming_ she needed any help getting down. Meanwhile, his estimate of slower planetary rotation was vindicated; there still was a little daylight left.

OOC: Kim, I would not have kept the metaphysical conversation going with Ivan that long, except that for awhile you were not telling us whether Jade HAD immediately set off accompanying us. In your silence, I had to suppose that Jade had not yet moved, which would mean Ivan and I were alone as far as conversation went.

EDIT: The post by Dayhawk, just below, can be thought of as happening AFTER this one.

(ooc oH....hmmm well we'll just say she's a creeper lol)

"Ivan, she said that shooting one monster would cause it to infect other monsters with the disease. I was listening to her explanation, not arguing."

"But if we can kill them with a little chopping, why waste a bullet? Or are these MAGICAL and SPECIAL bullets that regenerate?"

"Im sure you get a thrill about going through the process of taking a life, no matter how evil, but I dont. Might as well just kill one and let it kill the others, with out me having to go through the blood shed."

"Lady Jade, if you have no contrary plan, I intend to do what I said earlier: see if I can find more vulnerable points on the exterior, to open up for possible exit. Just in case the others might need to get out faster than being ghosted through one by one."

"Small things may affect large things," Vissarion said to Ivan, "as when a small key locks or opens a heavy door to a vast chamber."

"Just leave one nice and dead for me, not too mutulated." Jade said, "And yeah its like what Vissarian said sorta at least."

"Since I was serious about my guess that they saw your gun from ethereal space and fear it, I probably have a better chance of baiting one in if I'm NOT with you. Lady Jade, please pretend to be angry; shout at me, gesture furiously. Then I'll go off as if sulking, till I round a corner of the castle-or-whatever-it-is. That way they may find boldness to try their luck again."

OOC: Span-Inq, we already ARE outdoors.

"Ha ha ok you piece of WASTEFUL CRAP! HOW DARE YOU! I am the daughter of high noble DRAIDEN CLI'TIESS! Get out of my sight!" She said sliging her hand toward Vissarian's face, but not hard enough to hurt him if her hand were to hit.

With far more speed than she would have expected from a man so heavily muscled, he reflexively blocks the blow with time to spare, though also without any painful force; then, pointing at Ivan, he shouts loudly, "I can't _believe_ you trust HIS judgment better than mine! Very well, just _try_ surviving without me!"

Vissarion goes off as planned. Once making it around a far corner of the colossal structure, he is out of sight for some five or six minutes--before the already-familiar hideous roaring is heard.

Less than a minute after that, Vissarion comes into view again, dragging a carcass by two of its tentacles. "Here you are, Lady Jade! A clean thrust into the brain. Before it closed with me, it actually _said_ to me, 'The woman is next!' So they do at least realize you're a threat. How well they understand _what_ threat you pose, I don't know."

"good work," Jade said, "though it would have been funnier if you had let me slap you. ha ha," she pulled out her Physo-spector and went to work.

"If you feel confident on your own here, I'm going to take Ivan with me to scout another place to break through while there's a bit of light left. You know what, we don't know yet if this world has a moon."

"It must have a moon," wisecracks Ivan, looking at Jade; "I'm feeling so-o-o romantic."

Vissarion does a playful pretend stranglehold on Ivan, with no actual pressure.

OOC to Lonny:

You are still inside the vast rambling structure, with Verragoe, Meridia, Darron and others. When Vissarion (who is yours now) and Ivan came back in from their outside exploration, they urged everyone to come with them back out through one of the walled-over exterior windows Vissarion had broken through with his pickaxe. Meridia and Verragoe, however, believed it better to proceed with their movement of the party as a whole, using the "phasing" power to get through obstacles. But Jade went with Vissarion and Ivan to the exit, in hopes that another monster could be lured into attacking Vissarion so that she would be able to study it biologically. A monster WAS tricked into attacking; Vissarion slew it with his sword; and Jade set about analyzing the carcass, the better to use a futuristic weapon against the things. Jade being probably in no danger being left alone for a little while, Vissarion and Ivan are further examining the exterior of the giant building, but not so far off that Jade couldn't call them. On the outside, the weather is a bit chilly. This planet seems to have slower rotation than Earth, and thus a longer day; the sun has not yet set.
