AICN runs a marathon viewing of movies that runs for a 24 hour period once a year, and each year they get sneak peeks at movies that are sometimes still in production, and others that are soon to come, along with trailers and behind the scenes for movies that are coming much much later. This time, they were treated to a behind the scenes clip from Narnia. Apparently the Minotaur stood out as the centerpiece of what they saw.

Today – December 9, 2004 – begins the 1-year countdown to the release of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe!

Acclaimed actor Brian Cox has been cast as the Voice of Aslan! On the casting of Cox, producer Mark Johnson says, “Brian has an amazing resonance to his voice, a certain majesty, which suits Aslan perfectly…I’ve always found Brian to be so versatile…we first talked to Brian about the role of Aslan maybe nine months ago, and I’m so glad it worked out.”

This is an unsubstantiated rumor: “I’m doing some cool, ethereal vocal stuff throughout the score,” she tells Team Megaplex while promoting the band’s recent concert DVD Anywhere but Home. “And also a song for the end credits.”

Since its founding in 1987, Rhythm & Hues has been one of the most sought after studios for their visual effects and post production work found in Hollywood feature films including the much anticipated release in 2005 of “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.”

From there, a short drive down a road takes you to the most solemn set. A short grassy hill rises out of the sound stage floor. Upon the crest of the hill a circle of boulders surrounds the Stone Table. The table is inscribed with runes and looks ready for the dreary task it will be given to do.
