Over the last 5 years, I always had a dream for NarniaFans.com. The dream was to have a completely intuitive, interlinked database of everything Narnia and C.S. Lewis related. Today, that dream has been realised.
Not only is it really super easy for us to update just about everything on this site, it’s also really easy to add new data to the pages, and to add new items. This new system has been over a year in the works, when it comes to both programming and content.
We have essentially re-built everything from the ground up. There is still a bit of stuff that we left behind, that I’m going to be moving over to the new system as time permits. The C.S. Lewis section, the Fan Section, the “About NarniaFans” pages, and the Shop are all sections that are going to be moved over as time permits.
As it stands right this moment, there are currently 1,005 entries in the NarniaFans.com database. That’s over 1,000 pages of content!
I am going to be working with the site design as well as adding new data to all of the pages now that it is launched, and with the help of the fans.
We’ve also moved to a wider layout. This is because most people now have, or are starting to get, widescreen monitors, and we found that less than 7% of our users had been using a width smaller than this.
If there are any errors you find, any additions you’d like to make or see made, or any comments or suggestions, please let us know! Also, any writers on the site, you’ll need new login information for the new site. Please be certain to contact me for that. If anyone has contacted me with additions for the site in the last year, please know that those additions are coming… however, it wouldn’t hurt to re-submit it, so that I get to it faster!
