Voyage of the Dawn Treader Concept Art

This morning a message came to me from Salembr on Twitter, about some concept art that was found for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It is artwork by Spalenka, and is brilliant artwork.

The art appeared on the website, MundoNarnia, but has been removed at the request of the artist. We apologize for any trouble this may have caused, we meant no harm, and truly felt the art to be beautiful.

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie director Michael Apted says of the artist: “Greg is highly imaginative, with a real understanding of how to create magical images out of the beauty of the natural world.”

Link removed at the request of the artist.

The artist also did work on The Ant Bully, among other.

  1. Very pretty. If it is all from Voyage, I have no idea where the cave-like scenes come from. That seems more like it would be in Silver Chair to me.

    Great artwork, Spalenka.

    • It’s possible they could be walking through a cave in the process of exploring one of the islands… *shrugs* I dunno.

      It’s definitely lovely, though! ^_^

  2. I think the artwork is excellent and can’t wait to see the movie! Disney will have regretted leaving the movie!!

  3. Perhaps the caves are from the Dark Island?

Also, the Aslan picture? I WANT A PRINT OF THAT ONE! I can almost hear Liam Neeson’s voice looking at it.

  4. Beautiful! i agree w/ elizabeth, Disney’s gonna regret leaving the Narnia series. 20th Century Fox is gonna get to promote great films. 🙂

  5. These are stunning. I wonder if they were drawn by hand or by computer? Either way, I can’t wait to see them translated to the screen.

  6. I am on Greg Spalenka’s official website but I can not find the link to take a look at the art concept!
